Impact opens up with clips of the Jarrett/Angle feud and then we cut to the parking lot where a car pulls up with Kurt Angle inside. Angle walks into the arena and walks up to the guy at Guerilla Position and tells him to play his music now.
Angle’s music hits and he walks out to the ring. Angle says before Jeff & Karen come out and litter the Impact Zone with lies he wanted to come out and set the truth straight. Kurt said that last week when Karen said that this really isn’t about Kurt & Jeff, but about her and Kurt that was a lie. He says this is ALL about him and Jarrett. He says it all started when he brought Karen into TNA as his valet and he says she was an asset to him. He says that outside the ring whenever he would turn his head Karen would be standing next to Jeff. Kurt says that Karen always said that she was just talking business with Jeff and because Jeff was part owner of the company he believed it. Kurt says he doesn’t have any evidence that they were together while he and Karen were still married but a few months ago Jeff made this personal between them when he kept sticking Jeff & Karen’s relationship in his face. He says that Jeff succeeded in making it personal but the one thing that neither will be able to take away from him is his character. Kurt says he was a great husband and he was an incredible father, he almost sheds some Tommy Dreamer tears. Kurt says if he is guilty of anything it’s that he didn’t spend enough time with his family, but that’s because he wanted to give his family everything they dreamed of having. A “Angle” chant starts up and then Angle says that they can do this the easy way or the hard way (to Karen). He says the easy way is they make amends and they go their separate way OR she provokes him and continues to provoke him. Kurt swears that he will pull out every skeleton in her closet. Jeff Jarrett’s music hits as Kurt asks what it’s going to be.
Jeff Jarrett’s goons walk out instead of Jeff though. Tenay says that Jeff and Karen aren’t even here yet. Jeff’s goons don’t even make it into the ring before Kurt knocks them out. Kurt screams into the microphone asking if that’s all Jeff has and he tells him to bring it. Eric Bischoff’s music hits and he walks out side by side with Ric Flair to the stage and bring some cops with them. The cops come into the ring to escort Kurt out of the arena. Bischoff and Flair laugh and wave bye to Kurt as the cops walk Kurt out through the crowd. Tenay says that he just received word that Karen & Jeff are minutes away from arriving.
Back from commercials Jarrett & Karen arrive to the Impact Zone and Jeff acts surprised that Kurt was removed from the arena and Karen says that it’s a shame because the real Kurt Angle will be exposed tonight.

The action spills out to the floor where Velvet chokes Sarita and Mickie tosses Madison around ringside. Sarita chops away at Velvet and then whips her into the ropes. Sarita goes for a clothesline but Velvet ducks and then hits a Spinning Head Scissors. Madison attacks Velvet from behind and then knocks Mickie off the apron. Madison and Sarita double team Velvet now. They go for a Double Suplex but Mickie runs in and pulls Velvet’s feet down blocking it. Mickie & Velvet hit clotheslines on the heels. Velvet attempts to whip Sarita into the ropes but Sarita reverses it. Velvet comes off the ropes into a Wheel Barrow Arm Drag on Sarita! Sarita goes crashing through the ropes to the floor and Velvet follows. Madison grabs Mickie by the shorts and tosses her into the turnbuckles. Madison loads up for a big shot but Mickie counters into a Hangman’s Neckbreaker! Mickie climbs up top as Earl Hebner tries to separate Velvet & Sarita on the outside. Tara shows up out of nowhere on the apron and nails Mickie with that big elbow brace! Tara filled out her jeans quite nicely by the way! Velvet and Sarita roll back into the ring and then Velvet hits the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Sarita ducks and Velvet bounces off the ropes and the two bump heads with each other. Madison sees all three girls down and then Madison swings at Mickie but she hit Velvet as Velvet was getting ready to hit a DDT on Sarita! Mickie then rolls Madison up! 1…2…3!

In the back Beer Money are talking trash about RVD & Anderson attacking them. Storm says at the end of the night Immortal had the last laugh. Storm is acting like he’s doing curls with his beers and he calls them “8 Ounce Curls.” Roode says they get another opportunity to get Anderson & RVD and they will prove why they are the best tag team in the world. Storm says it’s not about how the fight started but how it finishes.
In the back we see Kurt Angle walking back into the arena.
In the back Samoa Joe is talking to someone and telling him to follow Pope around. Joe is being secretly taped now. It looks like that’s Okada that Joe is trying to get to tape Pope. He’s a Japanese star that works for New Japan when he’s back in the orient. He looks at the camera, smiles, and says “okay” and then walks away.
Taz and Tenay confirm that it was Okada.
Rob Terry and Ric Flair walk out to the ring. Flair asks the women in attendance if there is a single one of them that wouldn’t want to go home with Rob Terry. Three blondes at ringside are saying no in which Flair responds by saying that Terry would take all three home and “hurt ya…WOOO!” Flair says somewhere in the building he knows that Matt Morgan is around and Flair says there is a new man on campus and that’s Terry. He challenges Morgan to come out and show what he’s got against Terry.
“The Freak” Rob Terry w/Ric Flair vs. “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan
Terry talks to Flair at ringside and then turns around right into the Carbon Footprint! Morgan pins Terry and Flair freaks out!
Winner: Morgan via pinfall (Carbon Footprint)
Flair tries to chop and punch Morgan but he just shrugs it off and screams at him. He tries somemore and again Morgan shrugs them off so Flair drops to his knees and begs off. Finally Abyss runs down and attacks Morgan from behind. Abyss beats on Morgan in the corner and then goes for a Splash but Morgan moves and hits a Spinning Clothesline on Abyss and then he nails Terry with a Sidewalk Slam as Terry was getting to his feet. Abyss attacks Morgan from behind as Flair was talking trash again and then Flair low blows him. Terry and Abyss whip Morgan into the ropes but Morgan Double Clotheslines them both! Finally as Morgan was jawing with Flair again Terry clips Morgan’s knee. All three start beating on Morgan now as the fan chant for Morgan. Terry actually sits down on Morgan’s legs so he can’t move and then Abyss splashes him. Flair then kicks Morgan in the balls. Terry & Abyss Double Chokeslam Morgan now and then leave Morgan laying in the ring.
Clips and footage of the TNA stars at the big “Wrestle Kingdom” event in Tokyo are shown now. It’s an awesome video package showing not only footage of their matches but also following Hardy, RVD, & Beer Money walking around Tokyo. TNA thanks New Japan and then they say that more footage of the event is available on TNAWrestling.com right now.
Still to come Hardy vs. Dreamer and Beer Money vs. RVD & Anderson.
In the back AJ Styles hypes up Kaz and Kaz asks AJ what’s up with Eric. AJ tells him not to worry about it and that what’s important is Kaz keeping that belt. Kaz then holds up the Fortune sign and says that’s important. They give each other dap and then Kaz walks away as AJ tells Kaz he’s a “movie star.” AJ then looks down at his phone when Crimson wraps a wire around AJ’s throat and starts choking him out! Crimson says AJ has two weeks because on February 3rd THEY’RE COMING and nobody in Immortal is safe.
Kurt Angle is still lurking around backstage trying to stay away from security.
TNA X-Division Championship
Kazarian (c) vs. Jay Lethal
Kaz is hesitant to get in the ring so Lethal runs over, grabs the ropes, and slingshots Kaz over the ropes into the ring as Kaz was holding onto the top rope. Lethal lays into Kaz with right hands and then whips him into the ropes and lifts him up with a backdrop. Lethal follows up with more rights and chops. Lethal whips Kaz into the ropes and hits him with a Hiptoss followed by a Cartwheel into a Basement Dropkick. Kaz slides out of the ring to try and catch a breather but Lethal slides out with him and jumps Kaz on the floor! Lethal follows him out after arguing with the referee. Lethal picks Kaz up and rolls him back into the ring but Kaz pokes him in the eyes as he was being rolled in! Lethal gets back up on the apron and Slingshots himself over Kaz into a Sunset Flip! Kaz blocks it, however, and then and sits down on Lethal! 1…2…Kaz holds onto the ropes….3!
Winner & STILL X-Division Champ: Kaz via pinfall (rollup)
In the back Anderson talks about his match with Jeff Hardy in two weeks but he says he’s not thinking about that right now because he has Beer Money tonight. He looks to RVD and says they underestimated Beer Money when they jumped them because they still came back and got him at the end. RVD says all he can think about is Jeff Hardy because they won’t let him get anywhere near him. RVD says focusing on tonight is easy for Anderson because he already got his shot at Jeff. The camera pans over as Tommy Dreamer interrupts them. He says he has his first shot at Jeff Hardy in the ring tonight and for RVD he will soften him up. RVD says “fine” to that and says Dreamer will take him out and then Anderson will take Jeff out and then RVD will get his shot at taking him out. Anderson hypes them both up before saying that HE is the World Heavyweight Champion and walking off. Dreamer says “and you’re an asshole.”
Jeff Jarrett’s music hits and he and Karen make their way out to the ring. Karen is definitely STILL fine as hell. Jarrett and Karen hold hands and Jeff says that Karen is not only a great and caring wife and mother but she is also as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and “that’s saying a hell of a lot.” I think I about died from laughter as the fans start chanting “sloppy seconds” at Karen. Nas would say that’s that “stuff that makes your soul burn slow…ETHER.” Jeff is trying to ignore the chant but it finally gets the better of him as he stares at the crowd. Jeff says Karen is a victim, a victim of Kurt Angle. He hands the microphone to Karen and kisses her. Karen says she had a presentation prepared for them but since arriving to the Impact Zone she heard a few of the comments that Kurt had made so she just wants to acknowledge them. Karen says that Kurt was right, her husband IS part owner of the company and says “guess what that makes me?!” Karen then talks about his character and says let’s go back to 1997 after Kurt won his gold medal and calls him a lost little puppy who had nowhere to go. She says Kurt worked his entire life for that moment…and KURT ANGLE APPEARS BEHIND THEM! Kurt grabs Jeff and German Suplexes the hell out of him! Karen takes her shoe off and starts to hit Kurt with it but he turns around and stares her in the face. She says “do it” to him but he just stares at her and then she slaps him! Kurt gets in her face and then Jeff Jarrett low blows him! Karen throws her other shoe at Kurt and then Jeff punches Kurt in the face repeatedly. Jeff screams at Kurt and tells him to never get in his ring again. Jeff continues to beat on Kurt and then he kicks Kurt in the balls as Karen smiles and claps. Karen and Jeff leave Kurt laid out in the ring. Karen looks over to Taz and asks how he liked that and Jeff tells Tenay to not even think about “cutting” his eyes at him.
A replay of the beatdown that just happened is shown as we come back from break. In the back Kurt Angle is going nuts throwing things around and kicking and punching everything in sight.
Tommy Dreamer vs. Jeff Hardy
Hardy jumps Dreamer at the bell and whips him into the ropes but misses a dropkick. Dreamer then leg drops Hardy in the balls and then clotheslines him over the top rope to the floor. Dreamer then clotheslines Hardy off the apron onto the floor. Dreamer climbs back on the apron and grabs Hardy by the hair, but Hardy grabs his arm and snatches him off the apron down to the floor. Hardy rolls Dreamer back into the ring and then beats on Dreamer on the floor. Hardy mocks the crowd and then he picks Dreamer up by the feet into the air and as Dreamer was in midair Hardy dropkicks Dreamer in the balls. Hardy locks Dreamer in a headlock. Dreamer fights to his feet and breaks the hold with back elbows but Hardy then hits Dreamer in the back. Hardy hits the ropes but eats a series of clotheslines from Dreamer. Dreamer whips Hardy into the ropes and backdrops him up into the air down to the mat. Dreamer whips Hardy into the corner and charges at him but Hardy hits him with a back elbow. Hardy then springs off the top with the Whisper In The Wind but Dreamer moves out of the way. Dreamer climbs to the middle rope and dives off but Hardy catches him with a kick. Hardy then goes for the Twist of Hate but Dreamer blocks it and counters into the Dreamer Driver! 1…2…NO Hardy gets his foot on the bottom rope. Hardy rolls underneath the bottom rope and Dreamer was about to climb through to either the apron or the floor but Hardy grabbed the middle rope and pretty much slammed it into Dreamer’s balls. Hardy then grabs Dreamer and hits the Twist of Hate! 1…2…3.
Winner: Hardy via pinfall (Twist of Hate)
In the back Angle has a bat and threatens someone from security with it.
The camera, apparently Okada, catches Pope talking to someone on a cell phone. Pope is talking about getting on the compute about something. Pope then approaches one of the TNA Staff members named Brian and says he has some overseas business to take care of and he needs to use the guys computer. The guy says he has to finish up an e-mail and then he’ll help Pope with whatever he needs. Pope does something on his phone and then puts it down. Okada zooms in on Pope’s phone and you can see “calling TNA Brian” on it. The TNA Staff members phone rings and the numbnuts’ ring tone is Mickie James’ theme. The guy walks away to get better reception and Pope calls him a bastard and then walks out with his computer. That is priceless.
We cut to AJ who is telling Flair about what Crimson said. AJ says “I THOUGHT WE WERE THEY!” Flair tells him the 3rd will be their day, nobody elses. Flair tells AJ that he’s god, remember. Flair asks AJ to hand him his coat and when AJ grabs the coat there is a bottle of Smirnoff Ice under it. Flair just iced AJ and Flair is dying laughing saying that he’s been waiting 6 months to do it. AJ is not pleased by it because it’s not a time to be playing. Flair tells him to calm down and drink the beer. AJ starts to drink it but Kurt Angle nails him from behind with the bat! Kurt stares at Flair and Flair asks why Kurt is mad at him. Flair says he’s one of Kurt’s biggest fans and begs off. Flair says he just works there but Kurt grabs him by the throat and says in the next few minutes he’ll be in the Impact Zone and he wants Jeff to be there! He says if Jeff doesn’t show he’ll come after Flair! He tells Flair to make sure Jeff shows.
Beer Money, Inc. vs. “Whole F’N Show” Rob Van Dam & Mr. Anderson
Roode and RVD star the match off. Roode pokes RVD in the eyes and then beats on him in the corner. Roode tries to whip RVD into the opposite corner but RVD counters into a forearm to the face. RVD then whips Roode into the corner and hits a Spinning Heel Kick to the back. RVD then uses his legs to roll Roode up with a leg scissors! 1…2…NO Roode kicks out! Roode tries to kick RVD but RVD catches his leg, spins him around, and then nails him with a spinning heel kick. RVD then follows up with a Stanidng Moonsault for another nearfall! RVD whips Roode into the corner and goes for a Rolling Monkey Flip. Roode blocks it and then sits RVD up on the top rope. Roode sets up for a Superplex but RVD kicks him off and then dives off with a Flying Cross Body, but Roode ducks it. As RVD hits the mat he reaches up and rolls Roode up! 1…2…NO Roode kicks out! RVD then tags Anderson into the match. RVD kicks Roode and then Anderson clotheslines him! 1…2…NO Roode kicks out. Anderson picks Roode up but Roode puts his knee in Anderson’s gut and then tags Storm in. Anderson nails Storm with repeated right hands as he comes into the ring and then he whips Storm into the ropes and Hip Tosses him. Anderson follows up with a back elbow and then he puts the boots to Storm in the corner. Roode nails Storm with a Spinning Neckbreaker as Storm came running out of the corner with a clothesline attempt! 1…2…NO Storm kicks out! Anderson nails Storm with a forearm in the corner and then he whips Storm into the opposite corner. Anderson charges at him but Storm moves out of the way. Storm fakes a knee injury to distract the referee and Roode clotheslines Anderson from the outside. Storm slaps his hands together (to make the referee think there was a tag) as the referee is holding RVD back and Roode comes into the ring and starts beating on Anderson. Roode puts the boots to Anderson and then he stomps on Anderson’s ankle. Roode picks Anderson up and Scoop Slams him followed by a Knee Drop. 1…2…NO Anderson kicks out. Storm tags back in and punches Anderson in the head as Roode held him up. Storm chokes Anderson in the corner and then he pokes Anderson in the eyes as Anderson tried to make a comeback. Storm charges at Anderson but Anderson backdrops him over the top rope. Storm lands on the apron and then nails Anderson with a Leaping Enziguri! Roode tags back in and puts the boots to Anderson and then knocks RVD off the apron. Roode low blows Anderson as the referee holds RVD back. Roode covers Anderson for a nearfall and then immediately locks in a side headlock. Anderson fights to his feet and breaks the hold with elbows but then Roode nails him with a right hand. Anderson answers back and the two exchange right hands until Anderson counters one into a Mic Check attempt. Roode blocks it and then goes for a clothesline but Anderson counters into a Spinning Neckbreaker attempt. Roode blocks THAT and shoves Anderson into the ropes. Roode then goes for the Spinebuster but Anderson blocks it and hits a Spike DDT! Both men are down now. Roode tags in Storm and Anderson tags in RVD! RVD nails Storm with a clothesline as the two came charging into the ring! RVD follows up with another clothesline attempt but this time Storm ducks only to eat a Superkick from RVD as he turns around! RVD nails Storm with a series of forearms and then a spinning back kick! Roode comes charging back in but eats a backdrop from RVD! RVD springs to the top and dives off with a Flying Back Kick on Storm! RVD goes for Rolling Thunder but Roode grabs his foot! Winners: Beer Money via pinfall
In the back rants to Bully Ray about anger and he refers to him as Brother Ray which causes Ray to get pissed. He corrects him saying his name is Bully Ray. Kendrick says he doesn’t need to pick on him but Ray says if he was picking on him he’d know it. Kendrick tells Ray to do yoga to keep his anger in check. Ray tries to do the breathing thing that Kendrick tells him to but then he asks Kendrick to show him out to do it again and then he treats Kendrick like a ragdoll and flings him into the lockers. That was actually pretty funny.
In the back Flair is telling Jeff to get his ass out to the ring and says he’s not part of this thing with Kurt. Eric tries to cut him off but Flair says he didn’t get choked out like he did. Bischoff says he has Jeff’s back and tells him to just go to the ring. Flair says he ain’t taking no ass whoopin’ for Jeff.
Devon walks out to the ring and grabs a microphone. Ray says Bubba is in the back pushing people into lockers but he suggests they finish what they started at Genesis. He tells Bubba to get his “big ass” down to the ring so he can finish whooping Bubba’s ass. Bully Ray’s music hits and he walks out talking trash the whole way. Ray stops on the ramp and says if Devon wants him he needs to come get him. Brian Kendrick attacks Bubba from behind and tosses him into the ring! Devon starts putting a beat down on Ray! Ray catches Devon with a back elbow and then he takes a chain off his belt but when he turns around Devon punches him in the mouth. Devon picks up the chain and wraps it around his hand. Security runs out and stops Devon from using it and then Bubba attacks Devon from behind and then lays out security. Ray kicks Devon in the head again and then scares So Cal Val away from ringside and takes her chair. Ray puts Devon’s damn head in the chair and then hits the chair with the chain.
Back from commercials Kurt is waiting in the ring for Jeff. Jeff’s music hits and he makes his way out to the ring. Gunner & Murphy are with Jeff. Jeff tells Gunner & Murphy to go get him instead of himself getting in the ring. They must want to get their ass beat again. Kurt lays into both guys as they get in the ring. Kurt stomps the ever loving hell out of Gunner and then he does the same to Murphy in the opposite corner. Kurt nails Gunner with a European Uppercut and Murphy jumps him from behind. Jeff runs into the ring now and helps them beat on Kurt. Gunner holds Kurt up so Jeff can punch him repeatedly. Finally Kurt ducks a shot and then clotheslines Murphy out of the ring and then lays Jeff out. Kurt tosses Gunner out of the ring and then locks in a Rear Naked Choke on Jeff! Karen runs down and screams at Kurt to let him go. Finally Kazarian runs out and attacks Kurt followed by Beer Money, Flair, Matt Hardy and then the rest of Immortal. AJ limps out as well. Immortal beats down Kurt as Abyss starts to walk down the ramp. Abyss drops to his knees and then falls down with Jannice stuck in his back! Crimson dressed in a suit walks out and screams “IMMORTAL…FEBRUARY 3RD THEY’RE COMING!” Angle is back up now and starts laying everyone out! Kurt beats the crap out of Flair as he couldn’t get out of the ring. As Immortal drags Flair out Angle grabs Flair’s ankle and locks in the Ankle Lock! Crimson looks down at Immortal and smiles as Kurt is going nuts!
Tonight was another solid show from TNA in my opinion. They are really hyping up February 3rd quite nicely. I just hope they do the same for the Impact on the road.
The opening segment with Kurt was pretty solid despite the Dreamer tears.
The Knockouts 4-Way was fun yet a little bit of a cluster. Hebner almost screwed up the finish as he almost didn’t make the 3 count.
Still don’t know where the Pope and Joe thing is going but at least Okada is getting on TV finally and Pope was funny as hell.
They really seem to want to continue Morgan’s push and I have absolutely no problem with Terry’s lame a** getting squashed.
I still don’t get how Crimson ties into this whole “they” thing and I’m pretty sure we all have heard who “they” are since the internet spoils everything for us wrestling fans, ha ha. The suit Crimson walked out in at the end should be a hint to the 4 of you that don’t know already.
Karian-Lethal was good but nowhere near as good as their match at Genesis. Just didn’t have enough time. I liked the finish though.
The Karen/Jeff/Angle stuff was pretty good but Karen still didn’t get to air out her dirty laundry.
Hardy-Dreamer was okay, surprisingly better than I figured it would be.
Beer Money-RVD/Anderson was a really good match. That was the best RVD has looked in awhile to me. He was on fire tonight and hit everything crisply. Screwy finish but nothing to Russo-rific.
Bully Ray shoving Kendrick into the locker was funny (I mean what’s not funny about a bully shoving a weird ‘kid’ into a locker?) but the segment with Devon was disappointing. I mean hitting a chair with a chain isn’t going to have much damage but then again dropping down 20 chairs on top of something, which is on top of you isn’t going to do much damage either.
Good ending with Kurt and Jeff. Abyss walking out with Janice stuck in his back was a little goofy but it worked for me I guess. I loved the intensity Kurt has. Dude looked nuts. I still just don’t get what Crimson has to do with this and where the hell is Red?
