TNA Impact Wrestling
Macon, Georgia (Macon Coliseum)
November 10, 2011
Commentators: Mike Tenay & Taz
Report by: Josh Boutwell of Wrestleview.com

This week’s “Impact Wrestling” opens up with highlights from Bobby Roode’s World Title win last week, absolutely excellent opening video. Roode says, “I made it happen all by myself” and screams “it’s mine!” while holding up the World Title to the camera. Storm is shown flipping over tables and talking about he and Roode being brothers, he says shoves the camera away and tells him to get out of his face.

In the arena Bobby Roode’s music hits and the NEW World Heavyweight Champion makes his way down to the ring to a chorus of boos. Bobby asks the fans why they’re booing him and then asks if they are booing him or if they’re chanting “ROODE” because that’s what all of the “morons” were doing last week when they were cheering him on. Roode asks why they hate him and asks if it’s because he killed Beer Money or if it’s because he did exactly what every one of the Georgia “hillbillies” in the crowd would have done given the chance. Roode says this is a new generation, a generation of selfishness, and he is the leader of the new generation. He says doing things the right way in today’s society gets you nothing and gets you nowhere. He says it’s a dog eat dog world and last week he ate James Storm for lunch. He calls Storm a “stupid, sorry son of a b*tch” and says he didn’t even see it coming. Storm is shown watching backstage on a monitor. Roode says it’s not his fault that he didn’t see it coming and it’s on James. Storm tries to get to the ring but security holds him back. A “Cowboy” chant starts but Roode says after 13 long years and he realized that opportunities like the one he had at BFG don’t come along very often so he took advantage of another opportunity last week. Storm punches a security guard and walks through the entrance ramp. More security gets between him and the ring but Strom takes them out!

Storm hits the ring and Roode bails! Al Snow, Simon Diamond, and D-Lo Brown along with more security hold Storm back but then Sting’s music hits! Sting walks out as Storm is going nuts in the ring. Sting asks Bobby where he’s going and says he never would have thought Roode would take the shortcut he did last week. Sting says tonight Roode talks about being in the new generation, the selfish generation, but Sting says he prefers to help others tonight and tonight he’s going to help James Storm because tonight he gets his rematch with Roode for the belt! Sting says, “sorry about your damn luck” as Roode goes nuts and Storm stares Roode down. Roode holds up the belt and screams “it’s mine Storm.”

Tenay and Taz run down the card for tonight which features AJ vs. Daniels, Velvet & Mickie vs. Gail Kim & Rayne for the KO Tag Titles, Robbie E & Robbie T vs. Ronnie & EY, plus Roode vs. Storm for the big gold belt!

In the back Ronnie and EY are walking backstage with EY’s belts.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Tonight starting off with a ton of rapid fire matches and segments thrown at us very quickly and then slowed down in the 2nd hour with more lengthy matches/segments. Overall pretty solid show, with some decent build for Turning Point.

The opening with Roode and Storm was really well done and Roode was the asshole he needed to be in his first promo back as a heel.

Crimson-Pope was just kind of there and makes no sense for Pope to get in as much offense as he did if Crimson is billed as a monster. Pope continues to be unbelievably misused.

I continue to not care whatsoever about the Bischoff nonsense and it doesn’t seem anyone else does either.

I also could care less about the Jersey Shore stuff, just dumb.

The Knockouts Tag Match was solid when Gail and Mickie where in the match but both Velvet and Madison were really sloppy. Gail has been AWESOME as a heel.

Zema-Sorensen was a fun but short match was really just there to give Sorensen a solid win. Zema is beyond athletic, we need to see way more of this guy.

AJ-Daniels was excellent and a nice little cap to this version of the feud but they have also left it open for them to (hopefully) return to this feud down the line.

6-Man Tag was really hot, the fans really, really got into during the finishers sequence. Good match.

I liked what they did with Storm and Roode with the beatdown before hand and Storm looking like the badass that wants to continue to go despite the injury and Roode looks like the asshole he needs to be not only probably due to the attack on him but even worse taking advantage of it in the match. AJ cut a nice, short promo at the end and that match COULD have been excellent. If you haven’t heard AJ injured his ankle in a house show match last week and the picture he posted on his Twitter was pretty gruesome. It’s supposed to be a high ankle sprain and I just don’t see how less than two weeks from it AJ is going to be able to work that match with Roode. I’m guessing we’ll likely see a injury angle at the beginning of the PPV and then they work a short match with Roode going after the ankle and AJ selling it. That’s one of the problems with taping shows a couple weeks in advance. You never know what can happen at these live events in between. They’re working this thing with Storm as if he has a “concussion” which means they’ll likely have him sit out awhile and then come back for the hot feud with Roode.
