TNA Impact Wrestling

Happy 4th of July to all my Americans out there and Roll Tide as usual!

Impact opens up with highlights from last week and then the NEW X-Division Champion Austin Aries makes his way down to the ring. Aries says that some people love him and some people love to boo him, but the fact of the matter is now everyone has to respect him. He says that he came out last week and did what he does, outsmarted people and created controversy. He says last year he was the man that created “Option C” meaning the X-Division Champion gets to case in the title for a shot at the World Title, and not only did he do that but he also won the World Title. Aries says that after his “clever plan” last week you can “bet your sweet ass” he is cashing it in again for a shot at the World Title at Destination X on July 18th. Aries tells Hogan to get out to the ring so he can make this thing official.

Hogan comes out and Aries tells him that he’s ready to hand the belt over for his shot at DX. Hogan accepts the belt and says that Aries has done it again. He says that Aries is the one that created Option C but he’s also created other things in TNA. He says that Aries took the X-Division to a brand new high with Option C but then took it to a brand new low by doing what he did last week. Hogan says no one in “Sin City” has seen a sin like what Aries did to Suicide. Hogan says he won’t allow the X-Division Champion to cash in on Option C until the end of the night because tonight we’re having an X-Division Title Match in the Main Event! Hogan says his first challenger will be the man that Aries stabbed in the back last week…Suicide under his new name “Manic.”

Manic comes out and he is wearing pretty much the same gear except there is a big “M” on his chest rather than the Suicide logo. Manic gets in Aries’ face but then Hogan says the other challenger will be the former champion Chris Sabin! Hogan says both Sabin & Manic get a chance to right the wrong from last week.

Sabin says one year ago he never thought he would be able to get back in the ring again, but he never gave up and never stopped fighting. Sabin says Aries is the “greatest scam that ever lived” and he earned the title while Aries cheated his way to it. He says there is nothing that Aries or anyone else can do to stop him from becoming a 6-time X-Division Champion tonight.

Bad Influence complains about the camera guy trying to get into their locker room. Camera guy says he just wants comments from Kaz about his match with AJ tonight. Kaz says there is no one that knows AJ better than Bad Influence and tonight he’ll beat him and it doesn’t matter if it’s “the clean-cut Bieber version” of AJ or the current version.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

The new leader board shows that Magnus has moved up to 24 points over the weekend while Samoa Joe jumped up to 19 points behind him. The rest of the field remains the same.

BFG Series Match
“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles vs. Kazarian

Both guys are former members of Fortune and are both TNA Originals having faced each other numerous times over the years including over the X-Division Title back in the Asylum days in Nashville. AJ currently has 2 points in the BFG Series while Kaz has yet to score a point. Kaz and Daniels come out dressed as Siegfried & Roy as it’s once again Throwback Thursday. Daniels is even carrying a stuffed Tiger. Kaz is going to actually continue wearing the goofy wig and weird shirt for the match. Kaz goes after AJ but AJ sidesteps him and connects with a big right hand knocking Kaz’s wig off. Kaz finally takes the shirt off as he escapes to the floor but AJ goes flying through the ropes with a Missile Dropkick to Kaz. AJ rolls Kaz back in the ring and then attempts to whip Kaz into the corner, but Kaz reverses it and charges at AJ. AJ floats up and over Kaz and then hits a hurricanrana that sends Kaz back into the corner. AJ whips Kaz into the opposite corner and then comes charging in with a Flying Forearm. AJ whips Kaz into the opposite corner and goes for another Flying Forearm but Kaz moves out of the way this time and then hits a big Monkey Flip out of the corner! Kaz beats on AJ on the mat and then whips AJ into the ropes and connects with a Heel Kick for a nearfall. Kaz taunts AJ by slapping him in the back of the head and then picks him up but AJ slaps his hand away and then connects with a series of vicious strikes capping them off with a big Lariat! AJ hits another Lariat and then a Running Back Elbow followed by another clothesline. AJ whips Kaz into the corner and then charges at him but Kaz backdrops AJ to the apron. Kaz swings at AJ but he blocks the punch and then connects with a forearm. AJ then hits the Springboard Flying Forearm! 1…2…NO Kaz kicks out! AJ picks Kaz up but gets caught with a Jawbreaker out of nowhere. Kaz then follows up with a nasty dropkick that sends AJ into the corner for a nearfall. Kaz argues with the referee and then swings at AJ, but AJ ducks and then goes for a Back Suplex. Kaz lands on his feet and then goes for a German Suplex, but AJ blocks it and goes for the Calf Killa! Kaz counters into a rollup, 1…2…NO AJ kicks out and rolls Kaz up into the Calf Killa! Kaz fights it briefly but finally taps!

Winner: AJ via submission (Calf Killa)

AJ jumps all the way up to #3 in the BFG standings with that win.

In the back Mickie James asks someone if they have her ladder set up in the ring.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Chavo Guerrero hypes Hernandez up in the back and tells him that the BFG Series is a marathon not a sprint. Chavo tells Hernandez this is his chance to get to the World Title and he’ll be in Hernandez’s corner tonight.

Mickie is in the ring with a ladder set up, and damn is she looking good. Mickie says she knows that everyone is wondering what she’s doing out there with a ladder. Mickie says she is here to tell a story and she says that to get to the Knockout division you have to climb and crawl and scratch as she climbs up the ladder. Mickie just climbed up that ladder in some big ass heels, I don’t imagine that was easy. Mickie says she is a national recording artist in Country Music and she’s the one that is being asked to walk the red carpets and she’s the one that is being asked to endorse major products (Dr. Pepper). She holds the Knockouts Title and says that she is also the Knockouts Champion, but even though she beat Velvet again last week all she keeps hearing about is the Ladder Match next week. Mickie says she wants Gail & Taryn to come out and “break a leg…in fact break everything” because at the end of the day it doesn’t even matter because neither one will ever make the history that Mickie has made or as great as she is. Mickie says whoever wins that match she’s going to take that person all the way from the top of the ladder (of the Knockouts division) down to the bottom breaking her face on each and every rung on the ladder of the Knockouts division until she is standing at the top of the division all alone. She calls herself the Knockout of the Century and raises the title in the air as she winks at the camera.

Backstage Danny Davis, Bruce Prichard, & Al Snow discuss the horrid Gut Check Match from last week. Snow says Big O did better than Ryan Howe but Howe has improved since he started (that’s scary). Prichard says that the fans didn’t respond to either guy. Snow & Prichard argue about Prichard not liking anyone. Prichard says his mind was made up in the first few minutes of the match.

We cut to the Gut Check Judges with Howe & Big O now. Someone needs to slap Al Snow for that horrible jacket he’s wearing. Prichard says Big O has been eliminated and Ryan Howe will face the judges in the ring.

The Main Event Mafia arrives in the parking lot and Angle says that the numbers keep growing, and the fourth member will be revealed to the world.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

BFG Series Match
Jay Bradley vs. “Super Mex” Hernandez w/Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Neither Bradley nor Hernandez has any points thus far. Hernandez & Bradley lockup and they stalemate before Bradley gets Hernandez in a side headlock. Hernandez shoves Bradley into the ropes and they run into each other but neither guy goes down. Bradley kicks Hernandez and then brings his elbow down across Mex’s back. Bradley hits the ropes but Hernandez explodes with a Shoulder Block for a nearfall. Hernandez grabs Bradley but Bradley catches him with a thumb to the eye and then beats him on him in the corner. Bradley attempts to whip Hernandez into the corner but Hernandez reverses it and charges at Bradley. Bradley nails Mex with an elbow and then climbs up top and puts his knee on Hernandez’s head and rides him down to the mat! 1…2…NO Hernandez kicks out! Bradley puts Hernandez in a chinlock but Hernandez fights it off until Bradley hits Hernandez across the back. Bradley hits Hernandez with an elbow that sends Mex through the ropes and onto the ramp. Bradley reaches out to pull Hernandez back in but Hernandez hits Bradley with a shoulder block through the ropes. Hernandez then runs down to the end of the ramp and comes flying over the ropes with Air Mexico onto Bradley in the ring! Hernandez clotheslines Bradley and then connects with a splash in the corner followed by a big over the shoulder backbreaker! 1…2…NO Bradley still kicks out! Hernandez grabs Bradley by the head but Bradley pokes him in the eyes and then mocks the Guerrero shimmy. Bradley hits an Atomic Drop and then sets up for the Boom Stick but Chavo grabs his boot behind the referee’s back. Bradley turns back around and runs right into the Get Off Me from Hernandez! 1…2…3!

Winner: Hernandez via pinfall (Get Off Me)

In the back Bully Ray talks about Austin Aries and says “you have to give that little son of a bitch credit.” Wes asks about Brooke Hogan but Bully says that’s personal and their talking about business right now. Bully says that you would have thought Hogan was in on that X-Division deal with Aries but he looked as shocked as everyone else. Wes again asks about Brooke and mentions her announcement that she’s engaged to Dallas Cowboys Center Phil Costa. Bully says he isn’t going to tell Wes again not to talk about that. He says that is personal and has nothing to do with club business. Bully says the winner of tonight’s match faces him at Destination X. Mr. Anderson says Bully doesn’t care who he faces because he can kick all of their asses but then Bully asks “what if nobody wins tonight” and they all laugh and toast each other.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Non-Title Match
Bro-Mans (Jesse & Robbie E) w/ Tara vs. “Cowboy” James Storm & Gunner

As Gunner & Storm come in the ring Bro Mans jump Gunner and start beating on him in the heel corner. Jesse hits a dropkick on Gunner and then tags Robbie into the match. Bro Mans whip Gunner into the ropes and connect with a Double Back Elbow and then Jesse hits an Uppercut followed by a clothesline from Robbie for a nearfall. Robbie chokes Gunner in the ropes and then he distracts the referee as Tara chokes Gunner in the ropes as well. Robbie hits a big right hand and then tags Jesse back into the match. Bro Mans whip Gunner into the corner and then Jesse charges at him but runs into an elbow. Robbie then dives at Gunner with a Cross Body but Gunner catches him in midair! Gunner hits a Fall Away Slam and then slaps himself several times to get fired up before tagging Strom into the match. Storm hits a Flying Forearm on Jesse and then a backdrop on Robbie. Storm kicks Jesse several times and then drops him with a clothesline. Robbie runs into an Atomic Drop from Storm followed by the Backstabber! Gunner tags back in and then they whip Jesse into the ropes and then flip him into their arms. Robbie runs over but they fling Jesse into Robbie nut first! Storm tosses Robbie out to the floor and then Gunner charges at Jesse in the corner but Jesse gets a boot up. On the outside Robbie is able to pull Storm into the ring post. Jesse whips Gunner into the ropes and Gunner catches him with a Sunset Flip, but Jesse is able to block it long enough for Robbie to slide back in the ring and hold onto Jesse so he won’t flip over. Storm runs in and nails Robbie with the Last Call! Gunner then hit’s a NASTY Uranagi Backbreaker on Jesse! The fans are going nuts as Gunner lifts Jesse up on his shoulders. Storm then bounces off the ropes and catches Jesse’s head in a Neckbreaker as Gunner hit’s a Powerslam at the same time! 1…2…3!

Winners: Storm & Gunner via pinfall (Neckbreaker/Powerslam)

Main Event Mafia is shown walking backstage.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Jeff Hardy talks about Joseph Park in the back and says that Park is getting better, and he senses a bit of the dark side that’s inside Abyss and mentions his history with Abyss.

Main Event Mafia come down to the ring and is using the old theme again thankfully. Comedian Louie Anderson is shown in the crowd. Sting & Angle come out without Samoa Joe. Angle says the Main Event Mafia is back, back in the place it was originally born by the way, and they’re back for two reasons: 1 – to destroy Aces and Eights and 2 – to make sure Bully Ray losses the World Title.

Sting says the previous Main Event Mafia consisted of former World Heavyweight Champions and in situations like that you don’t always have the greatest unity so they decided to go for a no nonsense approach so that’s why they went to the 3rd member. He says this man represents change in the new Main Event Mafia and then introduces Samoa Joe.

Joe comes down to the ring looking snazzy in his MEM suit. A huge “Joe” chant starts up and he says the Mafia once again runs Las Vegas. He says for the past 12 months he’s always been a man of his own devices but he’s noticed lately that there is strength in numbers. He says that he even realizes that even a man like himself can’t beat up that many cowards at once (Aces & Eights) so now he has his own crew of the baddest men on the planet that specialize in beating up cowards. Joe says in this year’s BFG Series with Sting & Angle behind him he will run through every member of the BFG Series until he earns his shot at the gold when he will choke out Bully Ray for the World Title!

Angle says he’s the one that picked Joe as the 3rd member of the Mafia because of the amazing matches he had with Joe. He says those matches pushed him and led to respect and now that respect has led to loyalty. Angle says Joe is the baddest s.o.b. he’s ever been in the ring with. He says that Joe came to him this week with an idea of who the 4th member should be and when Joe told him he thought “damn that’s a good idea.” Angle says that many would pick this guy as the future of TNA but Angle says he is the here and now….MAGNUS!

Magnus comes out and hugs the other members. Magnus says when he was approached by Sting, Angle, & Joe he had to think about it for a split second because when opportunity knocks you answer the door. Magnus calls Sting one of the greatest in the history of wrestling and Angle the greatest wrestler bell to bell ever. He turns to Samoa Joe and says that he was put on the map because of his association and rivalry with Samoa Joe in 2012. Magnus says it’s not just about him or the Main Event Mafia even, it’s about Aces & Eights which is why he signed up for this. He says they are going to put an end to MEM for good.

Sting says July 18th is the next time the World Title is on the line and right now MEM is challenging Aces & Eights to a “fight” that night. Sting says Bully Ray asked the question “what if there wasn’t a winner tonight” and Sting says that MEM will make sure there is a winner in the X-Division Title Match.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

A great promo video for Destination X in 2 weeks from now airs saying “the pass, present, and future” of the X-Division will collide at DX.

BFG Series Match
“Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy vs. Joseph Park

TNA is actually selling “Park, Park, & Park” rally towels, wow. Hardy is rocking red, white, & blue pain for this match. Park offers a handshake and Hardy accepts. Hardy gets the crowd behind him and then they lockup and Park forces Hardy into the corner. They break clean and then Hardy gets Park in a side headlock. Park shoves Hardy into the ropes and then catches Hardy with a shoulder block to take Hardy down. Park seems surprised at that and then they lockup again and this time Hardy gets Park in a side headlock. Park shoves Hardy into the ropes and then goes for a clothesline, but Hardy ducks it and catches Park with a Leaping Mule Kick. Park retreats to the corner and Hardy comes flying in with a Splash and then he attempts to whip Park into the corner, but Park reverses it and charges at Hardy. Hardy floats up into a Spinning Headscissors Takeover and then hit’s the Twist of Fate! Hardy climbs up top and dives off with the Swanton, but Park rolls out of the way! Park picks Hardy up and slams him into the corner. Park hits Hardy with a forearm and then whips Hardy into the opposite corner. Park seems confused as to what he should do and then he whips Hardy hard into the corner again. Park again seems lost as to what he should do next before hitting a big Splash in the corner! The referee checks on Hardy and then Park hits a Snapmare Takeover and puts Hardy in a headlock. Hardy fights back up to his feet and breaks the hold with body shots. Hardy bounces off the ropes and ducks a clothesline and then hits a Flying Forearm! Hardy follows up with an Atomic Drop and then a takedown before Leg Dropping Park in the balls! Hardy hits a Basement Dropkick and covers Park for a nearfall. Hardy goes for the Twist again but this time Park shoves him into the ropes and connects with a Samoan Drop! Park climbs up top and hit’s the Closing Argument! 1…2…NO Hardy kicks out! Park goes for a Splash in the corner but Hardy catches him with an elbow and then climbs up top and dives off with the Whisper In The Wind! As Hardy lands he sells the back and hip. Park’s lip is busted and when he sees the blood he flips the hell out! Park grabs the referee and nails him with the Black Hole Slam! Hardy asks him what the hell is wrong with him and then Park snaps back into it realizing what just happened. Another referee runs out and disqualifies Park.

Winner: Hardy via DQ

Park gets 10 points deducted for getting disqualified while Hardy earns 3 for the win.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Ryan Howe joins the Gut Check Judges in the ring and I still want to kick Al Snow in the balls for that horrendous jacket. Ryan Howe says “abso-freaking-lutely” to the question of whether last night was his best effort. Big “NO” chants start up as Snow talks. Snow says he was the one that decided to give Howe this chance after watching him get better and grow. Snow’s answer is “no” despite all that.

Howe says it takes a lot of guys a lot of years to get a chance like this and for him to have that chance he knows he’s doing something right after just a few short years. The fans try their damndest to drown out Howe’s promo with boos. Howe says he proved he can entertain the fans like no one has ever seen (yeah nonexistent). He says he’s the future of TNA and then Danny Davis says his mind was made up before but the fans have changed his mind because Howe did not let them sidetrack him while they were booing him out of the arena. Davis says he thinks Howe has potential and it will take time but his answer is “yes” which gets a ton of boos.

Bruce Prichard says Howe definitely got a reaction from the audience and he won’t doubt his heart or desire, but if this was any other type of competition he might get a chance to go on to another round but this is Gut Check and the answer is NO. The fans actually popped for the “no.”

In the back Bully Ray says its Main Event time so it’s time to go to the ring and watch nobody win. DOC approaches Bully and says he heard MEM’s challenge and that he could take them out them out singlehandedly and he should be the next VP. Anderson walks up and mocks him and says he’s campaigning and next week there will be a vote so he needs to shut up. Bully says if Anderson & DOC spent as much time on taking out MEM instead of stabbing each other in the back they may have gotten the job done by now. He says they need to go out there and raise some hell and piss some people off.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Aces & Eights come out and will watch the match from the crowd.

A video package hypes up the Ladder Match for next week.

Main Event
TNA X-Division Championship
Triple Threat Match
“A-Double” Austin Aries (c) vs. Chris Sabin vs. Manic

Manic has some new music for his new name, it’s pretty generic though. Both Sabin & Manic go after Aries as the bell rings. Manic and Sabin shove each other away as they both want to beat on him. Sabin hangs Aries up in the tree of woe in the corner and elbows Manic in the face as he tried to get in on the action. Manic hits a Hesitation Dropkick on Aries in the corner and then Sabin kicks Manic and whips him into the opposite corner. Sabin nails Manic with a clothesline and then a Hesitation Dropkick on Aries of his own! Sabin climbs up top with Manic but Manic shoves Sabin off. Sabin then charges at him again but Manic cartwheels off the top rope using the ropes to balance himself. Sabin charges at him but Manic drops down and Sabin goes flying through the ropes to the floor. Aces & Eights begin walking toward the ring and as Manic set up for a dive Knux trips him. The referee was checking on Sabin & Aries on the ramp. Manic kicks Knux into the announce table and then dives over the top onto DOC on the floor, but DOC catches him in midair and Powerbombs the ever loving hell out of him on the floor! Aries and Sabin realize that Aces & Eights have surrounded the ring but Main Event Mafia begins walking down to the ring!

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Back from the break Manic is being stretchered to the back. Sabin & Aries are fighting on the apron and Aries hits a NASTY Death Valley Driver on Sabin on the apron! Main Event Mafia is watching over the match at ringside. Sabin is almost counted out before he finally rolls back in the ring and Aries quickly covers him for multiple nearfalls. He even stacks Sabin up and almost does a headstand trying to use all of his weight to keep Sabin down but Sabin still kicks out. Aries hit’s a Hangman’s Neckbreaker, 1…2…NO Sabin kicks out again! Aries drags Sabin through the ropes and hit’s another Neckbreaker as Sabin was hung up in the ropes! 1…2…NO Sabin kicks out and then Aries talks some trash to Sting at ringside. Aries spits on his hand and slaps Sabin which seems to awaken Sabin as he gets pissed and lights Aries up with chops and slaps!
