This year’s Destination X opens up with Austin Aries standing in the ring earlier today talking about his big match tonight. He said tonight he once again regains his World Title.
A special Destination X opening video plays and we cut to the slam packed Manhattan Center where Dixie Carter’s music interrupts the cheering fans.
Dixie walks out alongside Rockstar Spud, EC3, Rhino, Big Zek, and Snitsky. Zeke and Snitsky are wearing “Dixieland” shirts. Dixie messes with the crowd as they boo the hell out of her. She taunts them by asking what happened to their “hometown boys” last week. She calls the fans pathetic and that they are living in the past. Rhino takes the microphone and screams at the fans to show Dixie some respect and they should respect the Carter’s. Dixie says because she loves the people if they want to chant “ECW” then she give them “ECW,” but she isn’t going to give them the broken down old has-beens like Dreamer and 3D. She further taunts the crowd by reminding them that 3D “bailed” on ECW and then ECW died. She says that she has given the fans the “true ECW” with Big Zeke and Snitsky obviously referring to them working for the WWE’s version of ECW. She says that she has also given them a true star in EC3.
EC3 says that she is the president and he is the general and then introduces us to his “Army of Extreme” and he calls Big Zeke “the one true champion of that former company.” He says that he will no longer be known by the name that was given to him by some “random name generator” and instead he will be known Rycklon (his real name). He says that everytime the fans chant “ECW” they are chanting for Gene Snitsky and then he calls Rhino his “mercenary.” The fans chant “you sold out” at Rhino and he nods smiling at the chant. EC3 says that this is war and he proposes one final battle for Dreamer and 3D. The fans chant “we want tables” and EC3 says that Dixie will never go through a table. EC3 challenges Dreamer and 3D to one last match and he says they will tear the house down and then build it back up brick by brick as the “House that Carter built.” EC3 says he is going to put Dreamer down for good.
Backstage former X-Division Champion Homicide, indy star Brian Cage, and former X-Division Champion Low-Ki are shown warming up as they will take part in the X-Division Title Tournament.
TNA World Tag Team Championships
Hardy Boyz vs. The Wolves (c)
Massive reaction for the Hardyz and they come out to a new entrance song which sounds like it is sung by Jeff Hardy. This is obviously a first time ever match up and is a past vs. future type of tag team match. Opening bell after the break.
The bell rings and Matt hooks up with Eddie. They exchange headlocks and wristlocks as a huge “Let’s go Wolves-Let’s go Hardyz” chant breaks out. This crowd is smoking hot right now. Eddie tags in Davey and Davey dives off the top with a Flying Axe Handle to the arm of Matt as Eddie stretched it out. The Wolves whip Matt into the ropes and Eddie catches him with a drop toehold followed by a Sliding Dropkick from Davey! Davey picks Matt up but Matt punches him in the gut to get away and then tosses Davey into the Hardy Boyz corner and tags Jeff into the match for the first time. Jeff works on the arm of Davey before putting him in a headlock. Davey shoves Jeff into the ropes and attempts a clothesline but Jeff ducks and attempts a front kick. Davey catches his foot but then eats a Leaping Mule Kick by the free leg of Jeff! Jeff charges at Davey in the corner but Davey backdrops him over the top and follows up with a headbutt. Davey attempts a clothesline on Jeff but Jeff ducks and Matt blocks the shot. Matt then drops down slamming Davey’s arm across the top rope. Jeff twists the arm of Davey and tags Matt as Matt dives off the middle rope with a Flying Elbow to that arm. Matt continues to work on the arm twisting and slamming it before again tagging Jeff back into the match. The Hardyz slam Davey into their corner and then connect with a Double Clothesline. Jeff elbows that injured arm repeatedly and tags Matt right back in. They slam Davey into the corner again and this time they connect with a Double Suplex for a nearfall. Matt puts Davey in a wristlock and twists on that arm as Davey tries to fight back with punches with his free arm. He almost reaches his partner before eating a Shortarm Clothesline from Matt. Jeff tags back in and The Hardyz whip Davey into the corner. Jeff sets up for their trademark Poetry In Motion where Jeff dives off of Matt’s back, but Davey saw it coming and instead dives off of Matt’s back himself into a Flying Clothesline on Jeff in midair! Davey reaches to tag in Eddie but Matt grabs his feet to stop him. Davey kicks him away and gets the hot tag to Eddie! Eddie hits elbows on both the Hardyz and then sets up for a suplex on Matt but Jeff hits him from behind. The Hardyz attempt a Double Suplex on Eddie but Eddie blocks it and lands on his feet followed up with a Double Rana on the Hardyz! Jeff and Matt roll to the floor to get away from the champs, but they are not safe on the floor! The Wolves hit the Double Suicide Dives through the ropes onto The Hardyz on the floor! The Wolves toss Jeff back into the ring and then they whip him into the corner. Eddie whips Davey into a Flying Forearm on Jeff followed by a Flying Back Elbow from Eddie! Eddie tosses Jeff into a Waistlock from Davey. Eddie then hits an Enziguri on Jeff sending him right into a Bridging German Suplex from Davey! Eddie then rolls over Davey right into a Bridging Jackknife pin on Jeff! Damn these guys are awesome! 1…2…NO Jeff manages to escape the three! A “this is awesome” chant starts up as The Wolves attempt a Double Suplex on Jeff, but Matt catches Jeff and puts him down in a spot that The Wolves are known for doing. The Hardyz toss The Wolves over the top landing hard on the floor! Jeff dives off the back of Matt into a Plancha over the top onto The Wolves! Jeff tosses Eddie back into the ring and tags Matt into the match. The Hardyz whip Eddie into the corner and then Jeff dives off the back of Matt again this time connecting with Poetry In Motion! Matt hits the Side Effect on Eddie and Jeff dives off the top with the Swanton Bomb! Davey rolls back in and tosses Jeff to the floor only for Matt to catch him with a Flying Knee sending Davey through the ropes as well. Matt climbs to the top and dives off with a Diving Moonsault on Eddie! 1…2…NO Davey makes the save! Matt tosses Davey back to the floor and then locks Eddie in the Hanging Icepick (a hanging Butterfly Guillotine)! Davey tries to make the save again but Jeff catches him and locks in a Hanging Icepick on Davey as well! Davey is able to lift Jeff up and then drop him down hard on top of Matt managing to break both holds! Davey rolls to the floor and Jeff attempts a Slingshot Corkscrew Plancha over the top but Davey moves and Jeff crash and burns! In the ring Eddie and Matt exchange wicked forearms. Matt hits the ropes but Eddie lifts him into the air right down into the Alarm Clock from Davey! The Wolves climb to opposite corners and Eddie dives off with a Ghetto Stomp to the back of Matt as he attempted to stand up! Davey then dives off with a Ghetto Stomp on Matt on the mat! Eddie covers Matt, 1…2….NO Matt still kicks out and the crowd absolutely bought that finish! The Wolves set up for another double team move but Jeff grabs Davey’s leg from the outside. Eddie dives over the top with a Somersault Plancha onto Jeff on the floor taking him out! In the ring Matt hits the Twist of Fate on Davey! 1…2…NO Davey kicks out! Again the fans bought that finish like crazy! They have these fans hooked! Matt goes for the Twist again but this time Davey counters into a backslide for a nearfall of his own! Matt quickly gets to his feet and hits a clothesline on Davey! Matt lifts Davey up to the top rope and climbs up with him for a Superplex, but Eddie nails him with a Leaping Enziguri from the apron! Eddie climbs up to the top with Matt and attempts a Sunset Super Bomb, but Matt holds onto the top rope to block it! Davey headbutts Matt repeatedly to force him to release from the top and then as Eddie carries Matt towards the center of the ring Davey dives off the top into the Force of Nature (Lung Blower/Powerbomb)! 1…2…3!
Winners & STILL Tag Champs: The Wolves via pinfall (Force of Nature)
After the match The Wolves offer a handshake to the Hardy Boyz as the fans chant “that was awesome.” Both teams shake hands and bow to each other in a cool show of respect.
A vignette hyping up Low-Ki is shown. He says that he has accomplished everything he has set out to do in his career but every time he returns to TNA it seems like there is something else for him to do. He says that is the competitor in him as highlights of his TNA career are shown. He says the X-Division put TNA on the map and he has a high degree of respect for TNA because of how they let the X-Division wrestlers show what they can do. Ki says he helped build the division and he takes great pride in that. Low-Ki and Samoa Joe walk by each other backstage and then they come face to face and stare each other down!
TNA X-Division Title Tournament Semifinals
“The World Warrior” Low-Ki vs. “DJ Z” Zema Ion vs. Manik
All three of these men are former X-Division Champions with Low-Ki being one of the pioneers of the division. DJ Z just signed an extension with TNA. A big “Low-Ki” chant breaks out as they circle each other. The winner of this match moves onto the 3-Way Championship match next week. Ki fakes like he is going to hit Zema which causes Zeam to flinch and then attempt a clothesline on Manik, but Manik ducks and Ki destroys Zema with a clothesline. Zema rolls to the floor as Manik whips Ki into the ropes and then drops down in front of him, but Ki cartwheels over him and then taunts Manik to come forward. As Manik charges him Ki leapfrogs him and then does a dropdown of his own but Manik front flips over him landing on his feet. Manik and Ki then go through a damn Bruce Lee style martial arts movie type sequence ducking kicks, chops, and roundhouse kicks with lighting speed. Finally Ki sweeps Manik’s legs and then attempts a Leaping Stomp, but Manik moves and they stare each other down as Zema looks on. Zema hits a Springboard Double Missile Dropkick on Manik & Ki! Ki charges at Manik right into a kick to the head from Manik! Manik then rolls backwards into a Spinning Headscissors Takeover on Zema! Manik attempts to whip Ki into the ropes but Ki reverses it only for Manik to do his Spiderman impression hanging in the ropes. Manik then transitions into a Deathlock on Zema as Ki comes in and hits NASTY roundhouse kick to Manik! Manik continues to hold onto the Deathlock on Zema as he falls back and then Ki kicks the holy hell out of Manik again! Ki acts like he is going to go for a third one which cause Manik to flinch but Ki was faking him out and then attempts a Knee Strike, but Manik saw it coming and catches Ki in a Bridging Northern Light Suplex while still holding onto the Deathlock on Zema! 1…2…NO Ki kicks out! Manik goes for his finisher but Ki nails him with a big elbow and then grabs Zema for the Ki Krusher! Footage of Sanada’s turn on Great Muta is shown from last week. James Storm comes out to the ring and he says for those that are unclear he is the LEGEND “Cowboy” James Storm. He says what happened last week between himself, Sanada, and “The Great Fluke” was not a student turning on his teacher, but rather the student finally being awakened. Storm says that Sanada’s path to Destination X was being led by a man that wasn’t even in this country. He says a revolution is upon us and Storm is the leader of that revolution. He says as Sanada’s new leader, mentor, and friend he will make sure he gets down what he is supposed to get down. Storm introduces Sanada as “part of the Revolution” for the next tournament match.
TNA X-Division Title Tournament Semifinals
Sanada vs. Brian Cage vs. Crazzy Steve w/The Menagerie
Cage competed in a Gut Check back in 2012 but that is the extent of his experience in TNA. Sanada is the only former X-Division Champion in this match. Cage clotheslines Steve as he gets in the ring and then clotheslines Sanada and connects with a Heel Kick on Steve. Cage hits a Backbreaker on Sanada followed by a Spinning Neckbreaker. Cage whips Steve into the ropes and hits a Hip Toss into a Backbreaker. Cage clotheslines Steve over the top to the floor and Sanada hits him from behind. Is Cage attempting to take the “King of the Backbreakers” title from Roderick Strong? Steve comes in the ring and does some weird stuff which irritates Cage. Steve wants a test of strength with the bigger Cage but then kicks him in the gut and locks in a side headlock. Cage backdrops Steve and then hits a Running Shoulder Block. Cage lifts Sanada to his shoulders and then picks up Steve as well he hits a Samoan Drop on Sanada and a Fall Away Slam on Steve at the same time! Sanada is able to take away some of Cage’s momentum with a drop toehold sending Cage into the turnbuckles. Sanada jumps on Cage with a series of rights and lefts. Sanada charges into a boot from Cage and then charges into a backdrop from Cage that sends Sanada to the floor! Steve climbs to the top but Cage crotches him and climbs up with Steve and attempts a Delayed Superplex, but Steve is able to block it with a knee to the head. Steve then bites Cage and follows up with a Sunset Flip Bomb! 1…2…NO Sanada pulls Steve off but Steve then Sunset Flips Sanada into the corner. Cage hits a European Uppercut on Steve and whips him into the ropes. Cage hits a T-Bone Suplex transitioned into a DVD! Cage then attempts a Lionsault but Steve moves out of the way as a “Y2J” chant starts. Sanada hits the Tiger Suplex on Steve for the pin!
Winner: Sanada via pinfall (Tiger Suplex)
Footage of EC3’s challenge from earlier is shown and then we cut to 3D and Dreamer in the back. Bully says they are about to let everyone know what their answer to the challenge is.
In the back Bobby Roode approaches Austin Aries and says it feels like Déjà vu all over again with Aries cashing in at DX. Roode reminds him that it was he and Aries two years ago doing this and he says at that point he was over confident and cocky which was his mistake. Aries says Roode has said over and over that it was a fluke but Roode finally admits that it wasn’t a fluke which makes Aries a very happy man. Roode says that Aries has proven he is one of the best in the world and tonight is his chance for retribution for everything MVP has done. Aries says he will do that and he wants nothing more than to give Roode the first title shot.
Team 3D and Tommy Dreamer come out to the ring as a huge “ECW” chant breaks out. Devon says that he may have been gone from TNA for awhile but EC3 must be stuck on stupid because he just challenged 3D & Dreamer to a war which is the thing they know how to finish the best.
Dreamer says he needs to make something very short and sweet. He says that this isn’t about EC3, it is about something bigger. He says that he has been in wars with 3D and against them and others that would die in the ring for the fans. He says that being hardcore isn’t about tables or ladders but it is about the work ethic. He says that the guys in the back in TNA have the same work ethic as they did back in ECW. Dreamer says that he would go to war with Bobby Roode, Eric Young, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, The Wolves any day because they are what the business is all about. Dreamer says everyone knows how much he loves this business and he doesn’t know how many wars he has left in his body but he will go to war with 3D! He says that the y don’t want to wait either!
EC3 and his boys walk out to the ramp calling Dreamer “Thomas Dreamboat.” He says it is war but this war will take place on “Carter time” which is next week. Bully says that no one wants to go to war next week and then he asks EC3 if he knows where he is. Bully says they are in NYC and they are going to die! Bully says that if he wanted to he could start a riot right now and that is an understatement. Bully says if there is one thing he knows how to do it is how to start a riot! A big “start a riot” chant begins much to Bully’s delight. Bully says that if EC3 is going to name the time for this war then they get to name the terms, an 8-Man Weapons Extreme Hardcore War! Bully swears to God that by this time next week Dixie Carter is going through a table!
Backstage Samoa Joe is shown talking to Kurt Angle from a distance followed by a handshake. Angle tells the camera that “Destination X is about to have no limits.”
Backstage EC3 hypes up his troops as Dixie listens on. He says this thing ends next week one way or another and then Dixie points to King Mo and says that he is her “or another.”
Highlights of Kim-Terrell III from last week is shown. Backstage the Beautiful People say that they broke up the match last week because everyone puts Gail and Terrell on a pedestal when they SHOULD be putting them on that pedestal. Angelina says that Angle is blocking her from getting her rematch with Gail so next week she is going to make an announcement.
A video plays with some creepy looking guy, that you can’t really she the face of, being shown following by letters scrolling. The only letter that stops is the first one which is “H” while the rest continue to scroll and then it says “is coming.”
Samoa Joe comes out to the ring and he says that he just had a discussion with Kurt Angle and Kurt told him that tonight is about reinvigorating the X-Division. Joe says that Angle has done a hell of a job bringing back some talent that real wrestling fans want to see but Angle couldn’t reinvigorate the X-Division without Joe! Joe says that Angle has taken the weight limits away from the division once again and that Joe will be the next champion!
