Highlights of the first match in the tag series are shown.

Bobby Roode comes down to the ring as we go to a break.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Roode says there is not a better feeling in the world than the one he has right now, to be standing in the middle of the ring in front of all the fans in NYC as the TNA World Championship #1 Contender. Roode says before he goes any further he needs to acknowledge his opponent last week, his best friend Eric Young. Roode says there is no other man in the wrestling business that has brought out the best in him whether as a partner or an opponent quite like EY has. Roode thanks EY for that and he says that in his eyes EY will always be a World Champion.

Roode says that after last week’s match he knows in his heart that he is more ready now than he has ever been to be back on top and reclaim his World Heavyweight Championship. Before he can say anything else The Franchise Players interrupt him. MVP says that Roode wants to be a hero but every action hero in every movie has to have an objective. He says that action heroes fight and fight and overcome obstacle after obstacle, and at one point the action hero gets his objective and he lives happily ever after but the problem is that this isn’t a movie. MVP points to Lashley and says that is Roode’s reality. He says that in about seven days Roode gets to meet his Darth Vader, but in this case there will be no happy ending. MVP says that the best Roode can hope for is a short hospital stay next week.

Roode says that the difference between MVP and Lashley is that he sees fear and doubt in MVP’s eyes, but he says none of that in Lashley’s eyes. Roode says that Lashley KNOWS he can beat Roode and that he can even destroy him, but Roode knows that he can beat Lashley. He says that Lashley may be bigger and stronger but Roode’s heart and his passion for wrestling and his desire to be World Champion trumps those things any day of the week. Roode says that there isn’t a damn thing MVP can do about that.

MVP says that is where Roode is wrong and then sucker punches him! The heels beat Roode down until Samoa Joe and EY hit the ring and clean house! Joe says that week after week The Franchise Players feel real confident when it is three on three, and now that they have three against their three then their punk asses should step up for a fight in NYC. Lashley is down for it but MVP doesn’t seem so thrilled. Joe says they don’t need to wait for later and they should do this thing right now! MVP and his crew huddle up as a referee runs down!
