EC3 talks about the World Title Series and what he calls “a giant opportunity” to prove why he is the best and the future of the wrestling business.

TNA World Title Series
Group Tag Team Specialists
Matt Hardy (3) vs. Robbie E (3)

A few weeks ago Matt Hardy beat Davey Richards and Robbie E beat Eddie Edwards in the first matches from this group. The winner here will be the unquestioned scoring leader of Group Tag Specialists. Matt and Robbie go back and forth to start the match off and then they begin trading right hands. Robbie hits a big right hand that sends Matt through the ropes and then Robbie dives off the apron onto Matt. In the ring Robbie attempts a Suplex but Matt backs him hard into the corner. Matt hits a series of shoulder blocks and then hits a Running Clothesline followed by a Running Bulldog. Matt dives off the middle rope with an elbow to the back of Robbie’s head. Matt counters a series of moves from Robbie and hits the Side Effect followed by the Twist of Fate for the pin. That win almost guarantees Matt will move on to the next round.

Winner: Matt Hardy via pinfall (Twist of Fate)

Backstage Gail talks about her history with Kong and says that she can make history by winning the World Title.

Backstage Robbie says that he took Matt Hardy to the limit and if there is anything that he can take from a loss it’s that he proved that he belongs with guys like Hardy in the ring and he will learn from his loss.

Galloway hits a series of elbows on Grado knocking him off but then Grado grabs Galloway and slams him backwards hanging up in the tree of woe. TNA World Title Series
Group Wildcards
Aiden O’Shea (0) vs. Crazzy Steve (0)

Both Steve and Aiden lost their first matches in the World Title Series. Steve’s match with Shera was easily the worst match of the series. Steve refuses to put his horn down to start the match which pisses Aiden off and he eventually slaps it out of Steve’s hands. Aiden then shoves Steve repeatedly and taunts him. Steve kicks Aiden in the knee and then avoids the hands of Aiden and hits a Jawbreaker. Steve blows the horn in Aiden’s face but then eats a big jab from Aiden. Aiden hits a series of strikes on Steve and field goal kicks Steve in the ribs as he attempts to get back to his feet. Aiden rakes the eyes of Steve and then whips him into the corner. Aiden hits a Running Shoulder Block that sends Steve crashing into the corner. Aiden slams Steve face first into the top turnbuckle repeatedly and then kicks him to the floor. Aiden follows Steve out to the floor and then slams him into the guardrail and ring apron. Aiden goes for a big knockout shot on Steve but he moves and Aiden punches the ring steps. Steve quickly attacks the hand slamming it into the ring apron and then ring post. Aiden rolls back into the ring and Steve follows him and bites his hand. Steve then mounts the shoulders of Aiden and bites him. Steve grabs Aiden but eats the left hand, the opposite one of the one he hurt, followed by the Boom Stick for the pin!

Winner: Aiden O’Shea via pinfall (Boom Stick) to earn 3 points!

TNA World Title Series
Group TNA Originals
“Cowboy” James Storm (0) vs. “The Monster Abyss” (3)

Another match here with a ton of history as both of these guys have been a part of TNA since the very first weekly PPVs, though technically Storm is with WWE now. Both are also former TNA World Champions and TNA Tag Team Champions. Storm grabs a microphone and says that he and Abyss go way back and it was guys like he and Abyss that helped build TNA. He says that Abyss is a smart man, a whole lot smarter than the fans, but he wants Abyss to do the smart thing which is to walk out of the match so Storm can win by countout. Storm tells Abyss to do the smart and right thing because they should still be friends. Abyss snatches the microphone away from Storm and he says that he is still the 6’8”, 300 lb. monster and attacks Storm. Storm and Abyss brawl around and eventually brawl down to the floor where Storm slams Abyss into the ring post. Storm grabs a chair and rolls Abyss back into the ring. Storm wedges the chair in between the top and middle turnbuckle and then tries to slam Abyss head first into it, but Abyss blocks it and then lays Storm out with a series of right hands and clotheslines. Abyss whips Storm into the corner and then goes for a Splash but Storm moves and hits a big Uppercut. Storm goes for a leapfrog of Abyss but Abyss stops and then shoves Storm into the chair! Abyss hits a Big Splash! 1…2…NO Storm kicks out! Abyss rolls out to the floor and pulls Janice out! Abyss goes to hit Storm with Janice but Storm ducks and Janice gets stuck in the turnbuckle. The referee then tries to get Janice out of the ring and Abyss walks into a Closing Time followed by a cowbell to the head from Storm! 1…2…NO Abyss kicks out! Storm climbs up top but Abyss crotches him on the top rope. Abyss attempts to Superplex Storm off the top but Storm blocks it and hits a Sunset Flip Super Bomb! Storm climbs back up top and dives off with a Flying Elbow Drop! 1….2…and Abyss still kicks out! Storm hits the Last Call but Abyss just Hulks up and hits the Chokeslam! 1…2…and Storm kicks out as well! Abyss grabs Storm by the ropes but he holds onto the ropes and then reaches down and grabs his beer and takes a swig. Hebner takes the beer bottle away from Storm but then Storm spits beer in Abyss’ face as Hebner did away with the bottle. Storm hits a Last Call followed by another one for the pin!

Winner: James Storm via pinfall (Last Call) to earn 3 points!

JB has a sit down interview with Mahabali Shera and his very limited English. He says this Tournament is very important to him and bringing the World Title back to his family and to his home country is very important to him. He talks about being a part of TNA’s tour of India later this year and how big it is to him to go back to his family. He says it will be a very special night for he and his country. They are really putting over the possibility of him bringing the World Title back to India on that tour, which I think would probably be the nail in the coffin for TNA. That guy is about as ready to be a World Champion as I am, and that means not close.

Josh hypes up an interview with Jeff Hardy for next week.

Zema counters into a Waistlock but Tigre reverses into an armbar. Tigre transitions to a hammerlock but Zema counters into a waistlock again and then catches Tigre with an armdrag. Tigre sweeps Zema’s legs and then Zema leapfrogs him only to eat a dropkick! Tigre whips Zema into the corner and charges right into a boot from Zema. Zema then hits a beautiful Somersault Hurricanrana out of the corner! Zema charges at Tigre in the opposite corner but Tigre ducks and Zema catches himself in the ropes. Zema springboards off the top but Tigre moves and hits a Spinning Heel Kick that sends Zema crashing into the turnbuckles. Tigre hits a Running Dropkick to a downed Zema for a nearfall. Tigre tosses Zema to the apron and then sets up for a springboard move but Zema catches him in midair with a jawbreaker onto the top rope. Zema then hits a Sliding Spinning Headscissors sending Tigre into the steps! Zema rolls rolls Tigre back into the ring and gets a nearfall. Zema puts Tigre in a rear chinlock and then transitions in an armbar, but Tigre fights him off with elbows only to eat a huge Lariat as Tigre hit the ropes! Zema climbs up with Tigre and attempts a Superplex but Tigre blocks it and shoves Zema to the mat. Tigre dives off with a Flying Cross Body attempt but Zema catches him with a dropkick in midair! Zema goes for his Slingshot Tornado DDT but Tigre blocks it and then backdrops Zema over the top to the apron. Tigre hits a Leaping Enziguri which causes Zema to crash onto the apron. Tigre then hits a Running Dropkick that sends Zema crashing to the floor. Tigre fakes out like he is going to dive but as Zema ducks Tigre stops and then hits a beautiful Corkscrew Plancha over the top rope to the floor! Tigre follows up with a Springboard Missile Dropkick and then a hurricanrana! 1…2…NO Zema kicks out! Tigre kicks Zema and then hits the ropes but Zema catches him with a hurricanrana of his own sending Tigre into the ropes! Zema hits the Running Knees in the ropes and then goes for the Slingshot Tornado DDT again, but again Tigre blocks it and hits a TKO! Tigre goes for the Split Legged Corkscrew Moonsault, but Zema moves out of the way and hits the Slingshot Tornado DDT for the pin!

Winner: DJ Z via pinfall (Slingshot Tornado DDT) to earn 3 points!

Footage of Gail and Kong’s match at BFG is shown.

Main Event
TNA World Title Series
Group Knockouts
Gail Kim (0) vs. Awesome Kong (3)

Lots of history here as these two put the Knockouts division on the map years ago when it first started. I’ll never forget the Street Fight they had on Impact back in 2008 (I believe it was 2008) which was the first time a Knockouts match had ever been the Main Event of an Impact. These two were also the first two Knockouts Champions ever. Gail defeated Kong in a Knockouts Title Match back at BFG but this match is not for that title. Kong goes for a lockup but Gail rolls under her and then shoots in for the lockup, but Kong shoves Gail back to the corner. Gail ducks another lockup attempt and hits a quick series of forearms. Gail then hits the ropes but eats a huge clothesline from Kong! Gail rolls to the floor to try and regroup. As she climbs back in the ring Gail catches Kong’s arm and hits an Armbreaker followed by a kick to the arm again. Gail avoids a Splash attempt from Kong as she slides through the ropes to the apron only to eat another clothesline from Kong.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Back from the break Kong is still in control as she swings Gail by the legs into the turnbuckles. Kong puts Gail in a Camel Clutch and then releases it so she can attempt an Awesome Splash. Gail rolls out of the way and then attempts a Handspring Rana but Kong blocks it and hits a clotheslines. Kong chokes Gail with her boot and then hits a series of headbutts. Kong hits a series of cross chops and then puts Gail in a Sleeper. Gail counters with a Jawbreaker and then hits a series of leg kicks. Kong blocks the last one and sweeps Gail’s leg. Kong goes for a Hammerlock Slam but Gail counters into the Octopus! Kong counters by slamming Gail with a Sidewalk Slam for a nearfall! Kong goes for the Awesome Bomb but Gail slides through her legs and hits a big Running Forearm! Gail then hits a Running Dropkick that sends Kong through the ropes to the floor! Gail dives off the apron with a Flying Forearm! Gail rolls back into the ring and the referee begins the ten count, but as the referee got to nine Kong rolls back in the ring. Gail immediately locks Kong in another submission move, a form of a Triangle or something but Kong manages to roll Gail over into a nearfall! Gail hits a roundhouse kick and then a Running Cross Body, but Kong catches her in midair and hits a Front Slam! 1…2…NO Gail kicks out! Kong goes for a Chokeslam but Gail counters with an elbow to the head and then a Spike DDT! Both women are down now! The referee begins a double countout but both get up to their feet where Gail immediately goes back to the legs of Kong with some vicious kicks. Gail then hits a Sliding Dropkick to that leg and dives off the top with a Springbaord Flying Cross Body! 1…2…NO Kong kicks out! Gail goes for Eat Defeat but Kong blocks it and goes for the Spinning Back Fist. Gail ducks it only to walk into a boot from Kong. Kong attempts the Awesome Bomb but Gail counters into a hurricanrana for the pin!
