AAA Creates A New Championship
This week AAA announced that they are creating a brand new Tag Team Championship called the AAA Parejas Increibles (Incredible Couples/Pairs) Tag Team Championships. What this will involve is, just think Relevos Increibles Matches, a rudo teaming with a tecnico or just two rivals teaming up. The tournament for this Championship will take place 06/12 in Puebla and somehow local Lucha promotion Fusion Universal de Lucha Libre will be involved. This might end up being like the AAA Northern Tag Titles, a local title, but maybe they will use this to replace the AAA Mascota Tag Titles that Alebrije & Cuije vacated when they left AAA. The following are the teams announced for the tournament:

L.A. Park Gets Into Fight With A Fan
At the 05/23 AAA spot show in Monterrey (results are below) L.A. Park got into an altercation with a fan. The fan is said to have a history with trying to get into fights with wrestlers and apparently this time he got his wish and things didn’t turn out so hot for him. Supposedly L.A. Park put it to him pretty good and there is said to be also a video that was shown on Mexican News. I haven’t seen the video yet but when I get it I will definitely post it in the column the week its released.
New AAA Tag Team Champions
The AAA World Tag Team Champions, Takeshi Morishima & Taiji Ishimori, lost their titles in Japan at a Pro Wrestling NOAH show to Atsushi Aoki & Go Shiozaki. Aoki & Shiozaki will now travel to Mexico for Triplemania to defend the belts against Beer Money, La Hermandad, & Maniacos. There had previously been some worry that Taiji Ishimori may not be able to make it to the show because TripleMania was sandwiched in between days of the Super Juniors Tournament (which Ishimori is taking part in). This solution gave them an easy answer to that problem. Morishima & Ishimori were the champions for a little over 2 months which gives them the shortest reign in the belts history.

MTV2 Lucha Documentary Canceled
This Monday MTV2 had a Lucha Libre documentary entitled “Lucha Libre: Behind The Mask” that was scheduled to air at 7:30 pm (central time) on the channel, but for some reason took it off the schedule Monday morning without any announcement. There has been no announced on whether they will air it closer to the time that Lucha Libre USA debuts or if they have decided not to show at it all. This was pretty disappointing in my opinion, it was scheduled to air 30 minutes before RAW which would have been a perfect time for it to air (since its only 30 minutes) giving wrestling fans something to watch before WWE.
