More Big Names Added to Anniversary Show Main Event

Following last Friday’s Arena Mexico show 4 more big names have been added to the Mask vs. Mask Steel Cage Main Event for this years CMLL Anniversary Show. Jushin Thunder Liger, Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, & Ultimo Guerrero now join Mistico, Volador Jr., La Sombra, Averno, Mephisto, Ephesto, El Alebrije, Olimpico, Histeria II, and Psicosis II inside the cage. The full lineup is below.

CMLL Renames NWA Titles
After all the controversy with the NWA and CMLL with NWA demanding CMLL stop using their NWA Titles, CMLL has finally done something about it. CMLL is retiring their versions of NWA Titles and placing them in their museum. Those titles are being replaced by CMLL Historic Championships (yes I’m serious). Averno is now the CMLL Historic Middleweight Champion, Mephisto is the CMLL Historic Welterweight Champion, and Texano Jr. is the CMLL Historic Light Heavyweight Champion.

7) CMLL Universal Title Tournament Finals: Jushin Thunder Liger def. La Sombra
* NOTES *
– Los Guerreros de la Atlantida were DQ’d in the Semifinals when Histeria II & Psicosis II ran out and attacked Mistico. Instead of being pissed off that his buddies just cost his team the match, Olimpico turned around and helped them! Guerrero and Atlantis were pissed off and they demanded that Olimpico choose between Los Super Libres and Los Guerreros. Olimpico, Histeria, & Psicosis then jumped Atlantis & Guerrero! Later, Guerrero & Atlantis demanded to be included in the Cage Match at the Anniversary Show to try and get some revenge on the invaders.
– In the Main Event Liger and Sombra were have said to have an awesome match. Liger even survived the awesome Imploding Springboard Somersault that injured him in the Best of Super Juniors. They both kicked out of each others best moves but then Shigeo Okumura (who was in Liger’s corner) distracted the referee and Liger yanked on Sombra’s mask then rolled him up for the pin in the 3rd fall.

AAA

Sexy Star’s WWE/FCW Tryout & WWE’s Ignorance

According to the Wrestling Observer AAA star Sexy Star’s, FCW/WWE tryout (the same one that got ROH’s Tyler Black signed) didn’t go well at all. In fact, it went horribly. The FCW officials and Johnny Laurinitis (Johnny Ace) were pretty hard on the former AAA Reina de Reinas Champion. The first thing they said is the only true statement. They said her English was terrible and she needed to work on it, but that’s where the truth stops. They then said her wrestling was terrible, she was overweight, and not pretty enough without her mask. Reportedly Ace told FCW officials that if a girl wasn’t pretty enough for Playboy then the WWE didn’t want her. Just think about that to yourself for a second. They don’t want a WRESTLER if they’re not hot enough to be in Playboy (despite not allowing their girls to even appear in Playboy anymore) to do what? WRESTLE! That shows just how ignorant their stance on females in the WWE is. Sexy Star isn’t as gorgeous as some of the girls in WWE but she is not ugly by a long shot and to call her overweight is mind numbingly stupid. This is overweight?:

There isn’t anything overweight about her. Hopefully Sexy Star is happy in AAA or she moves onto a company that she can be happy in that doesn’t look at females in wrestling as stupid as the ‘E’ does.

AAA 08/14 “2010 Verano de Escandalo” TV Taping Results

3) Heavy Metal & Octagon def. Electroshock & Ultimo Gladiador
4) Nicho el Millionario, Joe Lider, & Jack Evans def. Hernandez, El Zorro, & NOSAWA
5) AAA Heavyweight Title Triple Threat: Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) def. Silver Kain & Vampiro to retain the title!
6) Perro Aguayo Jr., L.A. Park, & Damian666 def. Cibernetico, El Mesias, & La Parka Jr.
* NOTES *
– All pics are courtesy of the great Black Terry Jr.
– Jennifer Blade dives onto El Elegido:

– Mixed Tag Titles & Reina de Reinas Title were on the line in the 2nd match. Mari pinned Sexy to win the Reina de Reinas Title. Mari wins the belt for the first time.

– Metal & Electroshock bled heavily in their match.
– A bloody Heavy Metal dives onto Electro:

– A crazy, bloody Electroshock after the match (awesome picture):

– Jack Evans pinned NOSAWA in the Trios after a 450-Splash and then Konnan & The Militia ran out but Jack & 187 ran them off. They then put Konnan through a table.
– Jack Evans dives onto Hernandez:

– Hernandez splashes the tecnicos:

– 187 takes out Hernandez:

– Jack Evans hits the 630-Splash:

– Decnnis & Hernandez ran out to interfere in the AAA Title match. Hernandez and Vampiro brawled around ringside and then Decnnis hit Kain with a chair and Wagner got the win. Silver Kain played a supposed recording of Dr. Wagner Jr. and Silver Kain’s deceased father, Dr. Wagner Sr. of him saying that he gave Wagner the Jr. name because he needed it because Silver Kain was the better wrestler.
– Wagner Driver!:

– Still the AAA Champion:

– The Main Event was a clusterf*ck (not much more than the rest of the card though) which ended up with Perro hitting Mesias with a chair and pinning him. Mesias wants a one-on-one match with Perro. Cibernetico got pissed at AAA and said if they didn’t do something about the invading rudos and La Legion soon he would. He then put on a Los Bizarros t-shirt and walked out (anyone having flashbacks of Ciber putting on a Perros del Mal shirt and walking out of AAA last year, don’t worry everyone else is too).
– Perros del Mal:

– Perro Aguayo Jr. finally makes his in-ring debut:

5) Hair vs. Hair: Nicho el Millionario def. Joe Lider
6) La Parka Jr. def. L.A. Park
* NOTES *
– Pretty crazy Hair vs. Hair Match to do off television. The two guys that won in the Relevos Suicidas are locals in Tijuana and the local rudo referee helped them beat La Hermandad 187. Nicho and Lider didn’t want to face each other but were forced to. Lider put Nicho through a table and the ringside doctor was concerned about Nicho so they had him taken to the back. Lider was apparantley the winner but Nicho came back out to continue the fight. He eventually came back and put Lider through another table to get the win.
