G1 Tag League

In the 2nd week of New Japan’s G1 Tag League Strong Man & the team of Los Hijos del Averno (Texano & Terrible) have continued their mixed success. After going 2-3 in the Tournament and falling to Tanahashi & Tajiri on Wednesday they have been eliminated from a possibility of getting to the Semifinals while Strong Man and his partner, Nakanashi, still have a shot. If they beat Tanaka & Ishii this weekend then they are in. Despite the mixed results for Texano & Terrible, they did defeat their old rivals No Limit (Naito & Yujiro) during the Tournament. AAA

AAA Announces Return of Tournament

This past weekend AAA announced that we would see the return of the “Lucha Libre Premier Tournament” starting on November 3rd. This was the points driven tournament from last year held in Six Flags over Mexico (same this year) that we really had no idea how in the world the points went throughout. It was taped for Fox Sports Espanol last year and will be this year as well. Hopefully it will be less confusing this year but then again this IS AAA we’re talking about here. The first episode was taped this week.

Tiger & Evans in Japan (Finished)
AAA stars, Jack Evans & Extreme Tiger, ended their tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH this past weekend as the NTV Jr. Heavyweight Tag League Tournament came to a close. Tiger & Evans made it all the way to the Semifinals but fell to the team of KENTA & Aoki (who then went on to beat Team ROH in the Finals to win the whole thing). Evans & Tiger actually won one of the Post Tournament Awards. They were awarded the Technique Prize for bringing the best Technique to the tournament (I don’t if that is for their styles which are probably the most different in the entire tournament or what). Evans & Tiger ended up 2-2-1 in actual Tournament matches. They were also 4-2-1 in Non-Tournament matches and 6-4-2 overall. Evans was 2-0 in Singles Matches and Tiger went 0-1-1 in singles bouts. They competed in 2 Non-Tournament 6-Man Tag/Trios Matches teaming with Go Shiozaki in one & Eddie Edwards of ROH in the other, winning both.
– Block B: Jack Evans & Extreme Tiger def. Atsushi Kotoge & Daisuke Harada (10/15)
– Jack Evans, Extreme Tiger, & Go Shiozaki def. Takashi Sguiura, Taiji Ishimori, & Ricky Marvin (10/17)
– Go Shiozaki & Kotaro Suzuki def. Jack Evans & Extreme Tiger (10/18)
– Extreme Tiger fought Ricky Marvin to a TIME LIMIT DRAW (10/19)
– 3-Way Dance: Jack Evans def. Satoshi Kajiwara & Taiji Ishimori (10/19)
– Block B: Kotaro Suzuki & Yoshinari Ogawa def. Extreme Tiger & Jack Evans (10/22)
– Block B: Jack Evans & Extreme Tiger fought Genba Hirayanagi & Yoshinobu Kanemaru to a TIME LIMIT DRAW (10/23)
– Jack Evans, Extreme Tiger, & Eddie Edwards def. KENTA, Atsushi Aoki, & Masashi Aoyagi (10/24)
– Block B: Jack Evans & Extreme Tiger def. Dick Togo & Yasu Urano (10/26)
– Shuhei Taniguchi def. Extreme Tiger (10/27)
– Jack Evans def. Atsushi Aoki (10/27)
– Semifinals: KENTA & Atsushi Aoki def. Jack Evans & Extreme Tiger (10/30)

4) Chessman def. El Mesias

* NOTES *
– The referee cheated for Zorro in the Main Event. Nicho with his head shaved:

AAA 10/31 TV Taping Results
1) Cinthia Moreno, Gato Eveready, & Mari Apache def. Naguya, Yuriko, & Oyuki
2) Billy Boy, Chris Stone, & Decnnis def. Aerostar, Laredo Kid, & Super Fly
3) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, & Psycho Clown fought Super Crazy, Halloween, & Damian666 to a NO CONTEST
4) Dr. Wagner Jr., La Parka Jr., & El Mesias def. L.A. Park, Halloween, & L.A. Park
5) Cuervo & Ozz def. Chessman & Ozz
* NOTES *
– Pics courtesy of Black Terry Jr.
– Mari Apache flies:

– Aerostar dives onto Billy Boy:

– Super Fly was ‘injured’ yet again and left his buddies to fend for themselves:

– The Clowns/PdM match turned into the usual bloody brawl. It sucks that Crazy has to be stuck in stupid brawls every time he comes into AAA.
– Crazy apparently doesn’t like Clowns just as much as me:

– That’s just disturbing:

– According to live reports Perro Aguayo Jr. (who was scheduled to compete in the Semi-Main) was either drunk or high to the point where AAA actually sent Halloween out to replace him:

– L.A. Park continues to try out different looks (I like this one the best):

– Park Tombstones Parka but Parka was able to come back and get the pin in the end:

– After the match El Zorro ran out and attacked Wagner for some reason. Psycho Circus then ran out and made the save for Wagner. Wagner has formed a new group called Potencia Mundial (World Power) with them:

– Zorro dives:

– In the Main Event Cuervo pinned Chessman clean. After the match La Militia and the biker ran ut and attacked Cuervo & Ozz. Escoria and the rest of the new Los Bizarros: Nygma, Tabu, & Amadeus (without Cibernetico) ran out to make the save:

4) Campeonato Premier Tournament 1st Round: Dr. Wagner Jr. & El Zorro def. El Elegido & Alan Stone
* NOTES *
– So they’ve switched the format up again. It’s a Parejas Increibles (rivals teaming up or rudos teaming with tecnicos). They never said how many teams would be in the Tournament nor if this was single elimination or a points based tournament like last years was. Who knows, the winning team may end up facing each other as well.

1) Mascarita Divina & Octagoncito II vs. Mini Histeria & Mini Psicosis
2) Fabi Apache & Mari Apache vs. Naguya & Oyuki
3) Jack Evans, Extreme Tiger, & Aerostar vs. Billy Boy, Chris Stone, & Decnnis
4) Nicho el Millionario, Joe Lider, & Ozz vs. Damian666, Halloween, & TBA
5) Cibernetico, El Mesias, & La Parka Jr. vs. Chessman, Hernandez, & El Zorro

DRAGON GATE

DGUSA’s 2011 Return

Dragon Gate USA announced that following this past weekends DGUSA shows (the final DGUSA events of 2010) the promotion will return in 2011 at the end of January. January 29th is the first official announced event which will go down in Philly at the ECW Arena. There is going to be at least one other show that weekend, possibly 2. Also, DGUSA will crown the very first “Open the United Gate” Tag Team Champions that weekend. PAC is the only confirmed star for the 2011 events. PAC is scheduled to become a regular star for DGUSA in 2011 and the January 29th event at the ECW Arena will be PAC’s official debut with DGUSA in the U.S. (he appeared earlier this year for DGUSA at events in Canada). PAC is currently the Open the Brave Gate Champion in Japan.
