New Japan Stars Coming to CMLL
This week CMLL announced (via Twitter) that 1/2 of the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, Prince Devitt, would be coming to CMLL for the first ever and also rookie New Japan star Namajague who I’ve never heard of would be coming. CMLL says that Namajague is a childhood friend of Shigeo Okumura and a part of Okumura’s new group Fiebre Amarillo (which actually means Yellow Fever, yikes). Wrestling Observer claims he is Kyosuke Mikami who is a VERY young New Japan trainee (debuted in 2010) with Namajague being him repackaged.
CMLL Looking To Bring In Former Stars
In this week’s Wrestling Observer they claim that due to smaller crowds and falling ratings (along with losing several stars over the past year) CMLL is looking to change direction. For many years CMLL (and Paco Alonso especially) have held it against stars that leave CMLL for the most part, but now CMLL is actively going after several big names like L.A. Park, Dr. Wagner Jr., Perro Aguayo Jr., & Latin Lover (who is expected to return to AAA soon). This would also lead me to believe that if anything were to happen with Mistico potentially getting released by the WWE anytime soon that they would go after him pretty hard despite Paco Alonso taking it very personal when Mistico signed with WWE.
