CMLL

CMLL 76th Anniversary Show Predictions
1) Dark Angel & Lady Apache vs. Amapola & Hiroka
– ANGEL & APACHE. I have the technicos going over in this one with one of the two (likely Angel aka Sarita) getting a shot at the Womens Title soon.
2) Bam Bam, Electrico, Pequeno Olimpico vs. Pequeno Damian666, Pequeno Warrior, & Pierrothito
– BAM, ELECTRICO, & OLIMPICO. I have no clue why Mascarita isn’t in this match. Again I’m taking the technicos, maybe they should think about letting Bam Bam defend his belt every once and awhile. He’s defended the belt once since winning it back in July ’08 and hasn’t defended it at all this year.
3) Hijo del Fantasma, Mascara Dorada, & Sagrado vs. Dragon Rojo Jr., Misteriosi II, & Sangre Azteca
– DRAGON, MISTERIOSO, & AZTECA. I’m going the rudos in this one as Poder Mexica has looked good in any combo they’ve used.
4) La Mascara, La Sombra, & Volador Jr. vs. Averno, Ephesto, & Mephisto
– LOS HIJOS del AVERNO. Again, I’m going rudo here, Hijos de Averno are coming off a Trios Titles loss but a win here against 3 up-and-coming high flyers would get them right back in the title hunt.
5) Team Mexico (Black Warrior, Hector Garza, Shocker, & Ultimo Guerrero) vs. Team Japan (Jushin Thunder Liger, Tetsuya Naito, Shigeo Okumura, & Yujiro)
– TEAM MEXICO. Liger has been on a roll since showing up in CMLL last week and has gotten the better of Guerrero on a few different occasions, but I see the Heavyweight Champ getting his revenge on the legend on CMLL’s biggest show. Really wish this was under elimination rules though.
6) Mask vs. Hair: Negro Casas vs. Mistico
– MISTICO. This will be one of Mistico’s biggest Hair vs. Mask Matches and after missing last years Anniversary Show he’s going to be looking for a big win. Expect a classic here but I see Mistico coming on top once again. It’s just smart business.
– Full results next week.

AAA

2009 Alas de Oro

AAA has announced that this years Alas de Oro will be a Points Tournament (it has always been a Torneo Cibernetico) and say that the matches have already started (I have seen no lineups nor results that show it) but put up the standings thus far. Extreme Tiger and Jack Evans are in the lead with 4 points each with Billy Boy & Sugi San behind them with 2 and Alex Koslov and Super Fly both in last with 0 points. Apparantley you get 2 points for a win and 2 points for having a great move. Laredo Kid, Aerostar, Teddy Hart, & Tito Santana II are also in the tournament but have to have matches. The tournament will air on AAA’s new “Solo de Futbol” show that airs on Thursday’s in Mexico. Confused yet? Yeah me too, this is a perfect way to ruin a great thing.
