It’s time once again for your weekly ROH on HDNet recap! So, sit back, relax, open up a brew or a pop, and get ready for your final 2010 edition of RING OF HONOR WRESTLING! IT’S TIME FOR THE BEST OF ROH FOR 2010!
Here’s how things went down this week on the Best of ROH 2010:
-Hogewood and Prazak welcome us to the Best of Ring of Honor Wrestling show for 2010!
Here are the matches/segments that made 2010 the best year for ROH:
ROH TV CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT FINALS
4/26/10
EDDIE EDWARDS vs. DAVEY RICHARDS
-We start out the show with a look back at the Eddie Edwards vs. Davey Richards TV Title Championship match from 4/26/10! A great match between two friends and members of the American Wolves! These two guys know each other so well that this match was a great back and forth match! There is nothing like seeing two guys, who know each other so well, going at it for the TV title. The winner was Eddie Edwards, the first ever ROH TV Champion!

ALL NIGHT EXPRESS TAKE OUT DELIRIOUS
9/20/10
-A video recap is shown from 9/20/10 when the All Night Express takes out Delirious in the steel cage! This happens after Delirious beats Austin Aries in a steel cage match! This was the last time in 2010 that we saw Delirious after he was beatin’ down in the steel cage!
ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
BRISCOES (champs) vs. YOUNG BUCKS
(YOUNG BUCKS FINAL MATCH IN ROH)
2/22/10
-A video recap is shown from 2/22/10 when the Briscoe Brothers take on the Young Bucks for the tag titles! This was the final match for the Young Bucks in ROH! The Young Bucks later became Generation Me in TNA! The winners of this match were the Briscoes! They retained their tag titles in this match!
-A recap of the feud between the Kings of Wrestling and the Briscoe Brothers is shown! This was one of the best feuds in ROH this year! They also show the confrontation of when the Kings took out Papa Briscoe!
ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
KINGS OF WRESTLING vs. THE BRISCOE BROTHERS
10/25/10
-This match was the “last chance” match for the Briscoes! The Kings of Wrestling gave the Briscoes one last chance at the tag titles! Unfortunately, the Briscoes failed at the task and the Kings walked away with the titles! This match was also where Shane Hagadorn kicked one of the Briscoe boys in the balls! Then after the match, Papa Briscoe comes in and it started the build up to the Final Battle match, where the Briscoe Family beat the Kings of Wrestling and Shane Hagadorn.
STREET FIGHT
COLT CABANA & EL GENERICO vs. KEVIN STEEN & STEVE CORINO
7/19/10
-This was by far the best feud in ROH and pro wrestling in 2010! Kevin Steen and El Generico used to be a tag team. However, their friendship rapidly turned into hatred for one another! This particular match saw all 4 men in a street fight! Tables and chairs were everywhere in this match! One of my favorite matches in 2010 from ROH! The winners of this match were Steen and Corino, after Corino suplexed Cabana off the top rope through a table!
-A video recap of the year long feud between Steen and Generico is shown! Highlights included are the match from Glory By Honor IX and the events that lead up to Steen’s final match with Generico at Final Battle!
–COMMERCIAL–
-Back from commercial, the video of Jim Cornette interviewing Davey Richards is shown. Cornette asked Richards what his decision was about staying or leaving ROH. Davey Richards said he wasn’t going anywhere and decided to stay in ROH! Richards said that this is what he was meant to do…be a wrestler in ROH and capture the world title! This was a great interview with the lone wolf…DAVEY RICHARDS!!!
-A video recap is shown of the “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels where he discusses being in ROH and being a full time wrestler with the company!
-Hogewood and Prazak recap the events that lead up to Tyler Black winning the ROH World Title! Then, his down fall when he lost his title at Glory By Honor IX to Roderick Strong! Earlier in the year, Tyler Black told everyone that he was going to the WWE and he was going to take the ROH title to RAW! Well, that never happened! Tyler Black is in the WWE now (goes by the name of Seth Rollins), but the ROH World Title still remains in ROH!
TYLER BLACK’S FINAL ROH MATCH
DAVEY RICHARDS vs. TYLER BLACK
10/18/10
-This match was the final match for Black in ROH! He put in a great effort in trying to beat the best wrestler in the world, Davey Richards! However, in the end, Tyler Black lost and no longer works for ROH! After the match, Richards tells Black that if those boys in Conneticut want real wrestling, then they need to come to Philly and ROH! Great ending match for Tyler Black in ROH! Look for Seth Rollins (a.k.a. Tyler Black) on WWE programming real soon! Can we say NXT?! LOL
–COMMERCIAL–
-Hogewood and Prazak review the ROH World Title match at Final Battle between ROH World Champion Roderick Strong and Davey Richards. This was by far the match of the year in pro wrestling! A video recap of the match from New York City is shown! In this match, Strong did retain! Then, the rest of the iPPV is recapped in this video as well….including the brutal and bloody match between El Generico and Kevin Steen!
-Hogewood and Prazak close the show and wish us a Happy New Year!
FINAL THOUGHTS
What a great year for Ring of Honor wrestling in 2010! I started watching Ring of Honor back in May of this year, and I’ve been hooked ever since! This year I had the privilege to see many great matches on HDNet as well as on internet pay-per-view! No where else can you find such dedicated wrestlers who give their all each and every week in ROH! The thing that most impressed me this year about ROH is the skilled wrestlers who want to wrestle instead of act! WWE and TNA are all about storylines, drama, and putting butts in the seats to earn a profit, but ROH is much more different than that! Even though ROH is a wrestling company, they don’t focus on storylines, instead they focus on the sport that each of us love to watch every week! I am so grateful that I get to experience other wrestling organizations instead of sticking solely with WWE!
As my first year of being the ROH recapper for Wrestleview, I have to thank Adam Martin and the rest of the staff here for giving me the opportunity to bring you the action from the world of Ring of Honor! I have gotten to know all the wrestlers, the storylines, and the matches that this company from Philadelphia brings to my home each week! I love the passion, the dedication, and the desire of each performer in that ring! 2010 is quickly coming to an end and I cannot wait to see what ROH brings to all of us in 2011!
