Report by: Jason Namako of Wrestleview.com

Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s Ring of Honor Wrestling on Sinclair recap. If you all are ready, then let’s get to the show!

We see video of what happened in the main event of the 11th Anniversary iPPV as Kevin Steen successfully defended the ROH World Title against Jay Lethal. We then see the roster-clearing brawl as Jimmy Rave, Matt Hardy, Rhett Titus & Cliff Compton joined SCUM. We finally see Steve Corino’s promo where SCUM tore up the ROH flag and proclaimed that at the 11th Anniversary iPPV, “honor had died”.

We do not see the usual intro as we go right to the ring where the ROH roster is around the ring apron and match-maker Nigel McGuinness is in the ring with a microphone and the torn up ROH flag. Nigel says this is Ring of Honor and boys, girls, ladies & gentlemen, s**t just got real. We’ve been disrespected and to be perfectly honest, the entire future of ROH is being threatened. SCUM fired a shot that was heard across the wrestling world and they started a battle, no, they actually won a battle. They started a war that we are more than willing & able to fight. Because we’re still standing, we’re still united because we believe in this company.

“ROH” chants from the crowd in Chicago Ridge.

Nigel says that Steve Corino said 3 things. That SCUM was gonna go down in history as the people who killed Ring of Honor. There are no more credible contenders to Kevin Steen’s ROH World Title. And he said that honor was dead. Well, take a look at all of these faces around the ringside. Take a look at all these fans and know that HONOR WILL NEVER DIE! There are plenty of credible contenders and they all around the ring right now. Adam Cole, raise your hand. Adam Cole defended the TV Title with pride, honor & dignity. He raised the title to a big level and if that is not a credible contender to the ROH World Title, I don’t know what is. Adam Cole, you will get your title shot. Now, Cole was supposed to fight Matt Hardy for the TV title this week, obviously, that can’t happen because of situations out of my control. But next week on ROH TV, Cole will be fighting Matt Hardy and the winner will get a TV Title shot at Supercard of Honor VII in New York City. Now, someone else proved to me that they are a credible contender to the ROH World Title at the 11th Anniversary iPPV and he is one of my dearest friends, BJ Whitmer. He proved by beating the living hell outta Charlie Haas that he is more than capable of taking the ROH World Title from the rotund waist of Kevin Steen. So BJ will get a title shot as well. Now, Elgin, Lethal, you’ve both had title shots before, but that does not mean you both are not credible contenders. So, at Supercard of Honor VII, you will wrestle each other and the winner will receive a ROH World Title shot. And if I’m talking that honor and talking about credible contenders, then I cannot…..

Roderick Strong gets Nigel’s attention, saying that he is a credible contender, but Nigel tells him that this is not the time, or place, to do this. Take this seriously.

Nigel says before he was interrupted, he was gonna talk about the pioneers of honor, the Briscoes. I can’t think of 2 more credible contenders. So Mark Briscoe, in Asheville, North Carolina on March 30th, I want you to bring that Redneck Kung Fu. I want you to shine up those white teeth of yours, because you will need to smile when you hopefully become the Ring of Honor World Champion. Which brings me to you, Jay. You are pretty much the founding father of this company. Supercard of Honor, it should be you next in line for that ROH World Title shot. But, look at you, you’re hurt (Jay is out there with a sling on after separating his shoulder at the 11th Anniversary iPPV). Jay gets in the ring and says SCUM might have injured him, but when it comes to Steen, SCUM, what they are doing to this company, I’ll fight with one arm if I got to. One chance, that’s all I need. Nigel says you want one chance, you got it. Nigel says that out of his control, ROH offices have locked the door here in the Frontier Fieldhouse and have amped up security to keep SCUM out of the building. However, I will talk to the ROH office this week and if I have to put my job on the line, next week, those doors will be open.

Nigel asks the roster to come into the ring and look into the camera and look at SCUM, who are watching this show. Nigel says we aren’t running, we aren’t hiding, next week, the doors will be opened. We have to stand together this week because next week, we’re gonna need to be. We are Ring of Honor, we will fight and HONOR WILL LIVE!

Marshall adheres to the Code of Honor in a cocky manner before the bell sounds. Whitmer with a side headlock, but Evans grabs onto his foot as he was going off the ropes. “Inside Ring of Honor”

The 1st topic is the shocking upset by Matt Taven in defeating Adam Cole at the 11th Anniversary iPPV to win the ROH TV Title, followed by reDRagon shocking The Briscoes to win the ROH Tag Team Titles. Finally, Kevin Steen retained the ROH World Title over Jay Lethal. We go to comments from Lethal.

Lethal says that he knows that Steen knows that Lethal took everything Steen could dish out, including kicking out of the Package Piledriver. Lethal says he isn’t gonna cry and complain because many times as a wrestler, its not about how many times you get knocked down, its about the great wrestlers who get back up. Lethal says he will prove to the world that he deserves a ROH World Title shot. The winner of himself vs. Michael Elgin at Supercard of Honor VII will receive a ROH World Title shot and best believe, it will be me.

The next topic is that at Supercard of Honor VII, it will be new ROH Tag Champions reDRagon defending against the American Wolves. We go to comments from both teams, 1st from the new champs.

Kyle O’Reilly says that thanks to Bobby Fish’s superior training regime and mentorship, reDRagon has captured the ROH Tag Team Titles. Now, we may have just painted a big target right on our backs because now that we are at the top of the food chain, everyone is gunning for us, which brings us to Supercard of Honor VII and the American Wolves. Apparently, the “hunt is on” once again, but reDRagon is gonna put an end to hunting season and put down a couple of mangy dogs. Bobby Fish says he is a little bit shocked that the American Wolves would even sign up for this. After what we did to you in the Tag Gauntlet? Hey, if you wanna get kicked in the back of the head, followed by being dropped on that same head, I’m not here to judge how you wanna spend your evening. But, Supercard of Honor VII, for these straps, let’s do it Wolves.

We go to comments from the challengers as Davey Richards says that now, Kyle O’Reilly has climbed to the top. Got yourself a new partner, got you some shiny new belts, you’re the new hot team in Ring of Honor. How many times have we heard that before? You’re nothing until you knock the old dogs off the block. Eddie Edwards says that they have heard it time and time again. The new team, the flashy team, the team to beat. The American Wolves are the tag-team to beat. The American Wolves, we are tag-team wrestling in Ring of Honor. Bobby & Kyle, you’re the new champs, the new dogs. We see you as fresh meat.

Commercial

Before we come back from commercial, we see a hype promo for the Supercard of Honor iPPV on April 5th from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City with Charlie Haas. Haas says that April 5th, New York City, Hammerstein Ballroom. You damn right the Outlaw, Charlie Haas, is gonna be there, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I’ll tell ya who won’t be there, my ex-partner, Shelton Benjamin. I sent his ass packing, I gave him his future endeavor. I will be there, rest assured, drinking some Chuck Lights. Hell, I may even eat a Cheeseburger.

Before we go to the ring, we see a “parental discretion is advised” graphic for the upcoming segment of “Hoopla: Uncut”. This segment was heavily edited down for the TV show, so I will recap the uncensored clip of “Hoopla: Uncut”, which you can watch below:

Truth Martini comes out with his “Hoopla Hotties” (Mid-west indie workers Scarlett Bordeaux & Val Malone) and the new ROH TV Champion Matt Taven. Martini says welcome to Hoopla: Uncut, a talk show about life, love, pain and hoopla. Martini has one of the Hoopla Hotties hold on to his “shiny b***s”. Martini introduces Matt Taven and says that because ROH is a TV company, that makes the TV Champion the most important champion in ROH. That makes Taven more important than Kevin Steen. Martini then asks Taven how does it feel to be the newest member of the H.O.T.? How does it feel to be the greatest wrestler in ROH? How does it feel to be the new ROH TV Champion? Taven says that he has learned in life, that actions speak louder than words. So, I will show you how it feels. Wait one second while I “whip it out” (censored on the TV show). Taven undoes his jeans like he is gonna whip out something else, but instead, takes out the TV Title belt and has it hang down, like its his little Taven. The Hoopla Hotties are aghast to the Taven’s TV Title belt, but then Martini tells them to hold on, because they are missing something. Martini asks the crowd if they are ready to “get off”. Hey hoopla hotties, take your pants off.

(Note: Cameras cut away once the hoopla hotties began to take their pants off and it went to commercial).

The Hoopla Hotties do as Martini says and take their pants off. Martini, Taven & the Hoopla Hotties are celebrating when many referees come out and they cover up the Hoopla Hotties with towels. Taven tries to shoo some of the refs away by putting his title belt in their faces, acting like its his little Taven. The refs take the Hoopla Hotties to the back while Taven & Martini are upset that the referees put an early end to “Hoopla: Uncut”.

Commercial

Back from commercial, its time for our main event. Nigel McGuinness joins commentary for this match.

Main Event: Jay Lethal vs. “The Messiah of the Backbreaker” Roderick Strong

Code of Honor adhered to before the bell sounds, although Strong had a cocky demeanor in doing so. Both men exchange arm wringers until Strong takes down Lethal with a drop toe hold. Lethal with a head of steam and connects with a tope dive, sending Strong crashing into the barricade. Back in the ring, Lethal gains a nearfall. Lethal with a right hand, then heads up top.
