Dana White announces CM Punk will return to the UFC and confirms his next opponent

UFC President Dana White revealed to TMZ Sports that former WWE star Phil “CM Punk” Brooks will return to the UFC to fight Mike Jackson (0-1 in his MMA career, 0-1 overall in the UFC per Sherdog.com).

While not confirmed, the fight is expected to take place at UFC 225 in Punk’s hometown of Chicago on June 9. Jackson’s UFC loss came against Mickey Gall, who was Punk’s opponent in his UFC debut back in September 2016. Punk lost that fight in the first round.

Punk signed a three-fight deal with UFC back in December 2014. Punk officially parted ways with WWE in January of that same year and stayed relatively quiet until a podcast with Colt Cabana went public where he was critical of his run with WWE.
