WWE star Paige officially announced her retirement from in-ring action for WWE during a segment Monday night on RAW in New Orleans.

While it had been reported and known for months after a neck injury Paige suffered at the end of 2017 during a live event involving Sasha Banks that she would be unable to return to in-ring action for WWE, this was the first official confirmation in front of the live crowd of her retirement from the ring.

Paige had been previously out for over a year with a neck injury from the summer of 2016 to her return in November 2017, where she formed the Absolution group with NXT call-ups Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

Paige won the then-WWE Divas Championship multiple times during her time competing in WWE from 2014 to 2017 and was the first NXT Women’s Champion when the title was created in 2013.

A movie on Paige’s life and her famed wrestling family, the Knights, will be released in theaters later this year entitled “Fighting with My Family” and was produced by former WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, based on the acclaimed TV special of the same name that aired in the UK back in 2012.
