Interesting numbers on WM 25 buyrate

Chris Mate sent this in:

From the Wrestlemania Press Release: “The milestone event generated an estimated $43 million in worldwide gross Pay-Per-View revenue.”

Based on some quick calculations, and assuming the lowest price for the PPV was $55 US Dollars, that puts them at a high end estimate of 782,000 buys. I would have to assume that would be a huge disappointment.

WM 25: 0.782 (estimated)

It appears that this will be the worst since Wrestlemania XX. Based on trends, it also looks like it won’t be picking up for the WWE anytime soon. These downturns appear to happen in 3-4 year blocks. This could be a bad stretch for the WWE.

This also shows just how impressive the build to WM 3 was, as it completely blows every other PPV out of the water.
