Former host city wants WrestleMania back

ClickOrlando.com is reporting that Orange County leaders in the city of Orlando, Florida have moved forward today with a plan to spend $1 million in hopes of bringing WrestleMania back to the city in the near future.

The city, which hosted WrestleMania for a second time last year, is hoping to host the event in either 2023 or 2025. Last year’s WrestleMania event at Camping World Stadium had an estimated $181 million economic impact on the Orlando community.

It was also reported this past weekend that another city in Florida has also shown interest in hosting a future WrestleMania event. Tampa and the Tampa Sports Commission are hoping to bid for a WrestleMania event in 2023, 2024 or 2025.

Brock Lesnar not scheduled for Money in the Bank

WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is not scheduled to appear at the upcoming Money in the Bank PPV on June 17 per a report by The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online.

WWE.com also isn’t listing Lesnar for the next co-branded PPV event in six weeks. Whether or not WWE has plans to book Lesnar for Extreme Rules on July 15 remains to be seen.

While not confirmed, the belief among many was that Lesnar’s contract extension with WWE would keep him signed under a deal until SummerSlam weekend on August 19.

Lesnar signed a new deal with the company shortly after WrestleMania 34. WWE did not specifically describe the length of the deal, leading many to believe it was short-term. Lesnar’s last appearance was at the Greatest Royal Rumble when he retained the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns in a steel cage match.
