“5 times Superstars resurrected old personas” is featured on this week’s WWE List This!
Here is a list of WWE superstars who dusted off their old gear and music for one night only:
1) John Cena
Approaching Wrestlemania 28, The Rock and John Cena had a Rock and Rap night. John Cena took us back in time 10 years to 2002. Cena came to the ring to his old beat, while wearing his chain and Cleveland Cavaliers Jersey.
2) Kofi Kingston
When Kofi Kingston debuted in 2008, he was a Jamaican high-flyer. In 2016, The New Day had a time machine and Kingston popped the Jamaican accent, bringing back his old character from 2008.
3) Sexual Chocolate
Raw went Old school for one night in 2010. Mark Henry returned as Sexual Chocolate. Henry couldn’t take his eyes off Vicky Guerrero.
4) Marty Jannetty
Prior to Wrestlemania 21, The Rockers (Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty) teamed up for the first time in 14 years. This was Jannetty’s first WWE match in 9 years. They recorded their first victory as a tag team in 14 years.
5) Diesel
Kevin Nash was playing the Diesel character in the 90’s and left the WWE in 1996. He returned to the WWE as Kevin Nash in 2003 and eventually left the company. At the 2011 Royal Rumble, Big Daddy Cool Diesel returned for the first time in 15 years.
