Maryse, the wife of current WWE Superstar The Miz posted on her Instagram on Wednesday announcing she officially became a United States Citizen. Maryse was originally born in Montreal Quebec, Canada.

Maryse began her WWE career in August 2007 under a development contract. She was released from her WWE contract in 2011.  Prior to her release, she held the Diva’s Championship and in a storyline role acted as a personal assistant to Ted DiBiase and served as the co-host of NXT.  Following her release from the company, she spent a short time time on the independent scene where she provided commentary during women’s matches for the now defunct Family Wresting Entertainment promotion.

In 2016, Maryse returned to WWE on the April 4 episode of Monday Night Raw during the Intercontinental Championship match between The Miz and Zack Ryder causing a distraction at ringside which allowed The Miz to pin Ryder and win the championship, thus becoming The Miz’s on screen manager.  Soon after, Maryse and The Miz began hosting Miz TV together as WWE’s power couple.

Maryse is currently on maternity leave from WWE since giving birth to her and The Miz’s first child, a daughter which was born on March 27 of this year.  She and her family will be featured in the upcoming reality series from the creators of Total Divas and Total Bellas, Miz and Mrs. which debuts July 24 on the USA network following Smackdown Live.
