WWE quietly announces new championship match for SummerSlam, Updated card

WWE has quietly announced a new championship match for SummerSlam in two weeks from Brooklyn, New York airing live on the WWE Network.

Shinsuke Nakamura will defend the WWE United States Championship against Jeff Hardy. As of now, Randy Orton will not be involved to make it a triple threat match unless plans change on television the next two weeks on Smackdown Live.

Earlier this week, the previously announced Smackdown Women’s Championship match between Carmella and Becky Lynch was changed to a triple threat match involving Charlotte Flair after Charlotte earned a shot with a win on Tuesday night.
