SPOILERS: WWE Smackdown for Friday

SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long came out to start the show in the ring, with the WWE Intercontinental Championship draped over his shoulder; he announced the first match would be the finals of the IC Title Tournament between Christian & Kofi Kingston.

Kofi Kingston defeated Christian via the trouble in paradise to become the new WWE IC champion.

Drew McIntyre came out the ring, gave Teddy Long a piece of paper, forcing Long to strip Kingston of the IC title, leaving a major cliffhanger on this angle.

Matt Striker read the letter that McIntyre gave to Long, which was from Vince McMahon; in it, McIntyre was reinstated and recognized still as the IC champion.

They showed Jack Swagger watching over some guys unloading boxes from a truck backstage.

Shad Gaspard def. a local competitor via his finisher.

MVP and JTG defeated The Dudebusters, Caylen Croft and Trent Trent Barreta.

Backstage vignette with CM Punk & the SES…Punk told Luke Gallows & Serena he would be coming to the ring alone tonight in his match vs. Rey Mysterio, based on their doubt they showed in him the previous week.

Jack Swagger came out go the ring, with all of his trophies, plaques, & certificates he accomplished in his life surrounding him…including his collegiate letterman jacket, his Eagle Scout uniform, etc. He unveiled a picture of himself wearing a wrestling uniform when he was little at the age of five. Swagger then unveiled a picture of himself winning his third state wrestling title .. plus, the crown of himself as the homecoming king of his high school. He then showed a picture of himself in his Oklahoma Sooners uniform, with Bob Stoops beside him. Swagger kept touting his personal success .. including a deli in Oklahoma naming a sandwich named him, called “The Swagger. After Swagger continued on talking about winning the National Scrabble Championship, The Big Show came down to the ring; Swagger told Show to get his vienna sausage fingers off his stuff. Show then broke Swaggers 2004 ballroom dancing championship trophy after twirling it down to the ground. Show destroyed the set up, taking down all of Swaggers pictures, destroying his trophies…and yes…even punting Swagger’s football into the HSBC Arena crowd.

Theodore Long announced a match for the World Heavyweight Championship, between Swagger & The Big Show, which will be a dark match for the crowd in attendance after the tapings.

Up next and initially scheduled was Beth Phoenix vs. Rosa Mendes. Vickie Guerrero then came out, forced Mendes to the back, and scheduled a two-on-one handicap match between “The Glamazon” and Michelle McCool/Layla. The WWE Womens Championship was on the line; despite a valiant effort by Phoenix, which included picking up both divas together & taking them down to the canvas, Phoenix lost the gold after a double-team effort by LeyCool. Phoenix however did get one of the biggest pops of the night, including a standing ovation from the crowd; the match also saw a nice “Let’s go Buffalo” chant echo tnroughout the HSBC Arena.

Kane def. Chavo Guerrero via a chokeslam.

In a backstage vignette, Theodore Long told Drew McIntyre he would be facing The Big Show on next Friday night’s edition of SmackDown.

While running down ghe card for the Over The Limit PPV, they confirmed The Big Show challenging Jack Swagger for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Rey Mysterio def. CM Punk via disqualification, after interference from Luke Gallows, a hooded Serena, and their hooded accomplice; Punk placed Mysterio in the go to sleep, and ended the show in unison with the SES pleding together.
