To follow up on reports late Monday night, Serena (Serena Deeb) was officially released by WWE last Friday on August 20. The company didn’t make an announcement immediately publicly as they normally do since she will appear on this week’s Smackdown that was taped last week.
As rumored earlier, the reasoning for her release was disciplinary action. While sources within the company wouldn’t give an exact reason for her release from the company, she was described as not “living the gimmick” of being straight edge when out in public.
Were told they tried to send her a message on Smackdown a few weeks ago by booking the angle of her almost being kicked out of the group, but clearly it didn’t get through. An official announcement isn’t expected by WWE until Friday or the weekend once the episode of Smackdown airs.
