(Mr. V is on assignment this weekend. Actually, this weekend he went to his sports memorabilia binge and won’t be looking at predictions until Sunday. So to replace him, he appointed “The Velvet Room”‘s CJ Bowman and Greg McNeish)

Introduction

Welcome to the latest edition of “Predictions from the Faculty” (Season #3). This weekend, we gathered our thoughts for the upcoming WWE Pay-Per-View, as we will provide our selections for WWE Over the Limit PPV. The show will be held in Seattle, WA.

The card currently will have eight matches. As of now, I am not expecting to make any changes.

In case you are new to reading these predictions, here is the format. Each Pay-Per-View a few of the columnists on WrestleView provide predictions on who they think will win the matches. We accumulate throughout the end of the Faculty’s year (in this case, the 2012 Royal Rumble).

What makes this entirely different to others is that you, the reader, can provide your picks for a spot to have yours posted in an upcoming PPV. All the readers have to do is either leave me a message on Facebook or e-mail at mistervwv@hotmail.com. The winner among the “WrestleView Students” will win an opportunity to post their picks as a “Student of the Week” (if they outright defeat the reigning Students of the Week). We all thank you for your participation.

Tie-Breakers will determine standings!

I have decided to prevent some tiebreakers, I will issue points to Title Matches that are predicted correctly. There are two championship matches on the card, so the maximum amount of points to go along with the win/loss standing will be two points. Also, if I throw out a pick for a championship, then obviously no bonus will be counted for that particular match.

But what, to the WrestleView “students”, there is more!

I got approval for this decision, and for the FIRST time in our three seasons the students will compete for PRIZES!!! That is right; we felt that your loyalty to the article shall be rewarded. However, the prizes will not be handed out until the FINAL PPV Prediction of the season (which will be WWE’s Royal Rumble 2012). So not only will one get a chance to earn a Gold Star and be a part of this game, but it will be for a competition.

And now, the moment you all have been waiting for…

Predictions for WWE’s Over the Limit PPV

*** NON-CHAMPIONSHIP MATHCES ***

Singles Match
Sin Cara vs. Chavo Guerrero

Dave S. – SIN CARA

Nick G. – SIN CARA

Josh B. – SIN CARA

Jose M. – SIN CARA

Mike T. – SIN CARA

Ryan R. –

Greg W. –

Anthony V. – SIN CARA. C’mon? You think they are going to let him lose to Chavo?

Greg M. – SIN CARA; the result isn’t in doubt, but I’m very intrigued to see how this match turns out. Hopefully Chavo can help Sin Cara become acclimatized to his new environment.

Darragh O. –

Clinton B. – SIN CARA. NO BLOODY WAY IN HELL DOES HE LOSE THIS ONE.

Evan O. – SIN CARA

Matt O. – SIN CARA

Goose O. – SIN CARA

Michael F. – SIN CARA

CONSENSUS: All 12 staff & students stand firm with the newest Mexican sensation, and are going with SIN CARA to beat the veteran Guerrero.

Kiss my Foot Match
Stip: Loser kisses winner’s foot. If Lawler loses the match, Michael Cole is inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame and will win Jerry Lawler’s ring
Michael Cole vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler

Dave S. – LAWLER.

Nick G. – LAWLER

Josh B. – LAWLER

Jose M. – LAWLER

Mike T. – LAWLER

Ryan R. –

Greg W. –

Anthony V. – LAWLER. Look, I can’t stand this storyline anymore. Just have the payoff and end it with Lawler forcing Cole’s foot in his mouth.

Greg M. – LAWLER; this program has been a MUCH bigger success than anyone could have dreamed. It’s time to put this puppy down, though.

Darragh O. –

Clinton B. – LAWLER. Time to end it. NOW.

Evan O. – LAWLER

Matt O. – LAWLER

Goose O. – LAWLER

Michael F. – JERRY LAWLER. Hopefully this match finishes the feud.

CONSENSUS: Two in a row where we’ve got a clean sweep. By a margin of 12-0, we’ve got the King finally getting his revenge on Michael Cole, and putting this to bed, once and for all.

Singles Match
Rey Mysterio vs. R-Truth

Dave S. – R-TRUTH.

Nick G. – MYSTERIO

Josh B. – REY REY

Jose M. – R-TRUTH

Mike T. – MYSTERIO

Ryan R. –

Greg W. –

Anthony V. – MYSTERIO. Mysterio is easily one of the best so far this year and after giving Cody Rhodes a win at WrestleMania I don’t think he gives another person a PPV win over him.

Greg M. – R-TRUTH; it’ll be interesting to see how well Truth works in the ring. This would be a great establishment victory for this new heel character, and Mysterio is never hurt by taking a loss.

Darragh O. –

Clinton B. – MYSTERIO

Evan O. – MYSTERIO

Matt O. – TRUTH

Goose O. – R-TRUTH

Michael F. – REY MYSTERIO

CONSENSUS: This is definitely a toss-up, as R-Truth’s new heel character clashes with the ever-popular Rey Mysterio. By a score of 7-5, we have REY MYSTERIO picking up the victory.

*** CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES ***

Singles Match for the Diva’s Championship (if it does not happen delete it)
Brie Bella (c) vs. Kelly Kelly

Dave S. – KELLY KELLY.

Nick G. – KELLY

Josh B. – BELLA HO

Jose M. – BRIE

Mike T. – KELLY

Ryan R. –

Greg W. –

Anthony V. – KELLY. I don’t care. If I am wrong, so be it. I say sooner than later Kelly Kelly wins the title, so why not now?

Greg M. – KELLY KELLY; They’re clearly building to Kelly & Kharma, and I see no reason to wait.

Darragh O. –

Clinton B. – KELLY. She’s going to be Kharma Food.

Evan O. – KELLY

Matt O. – KELLY KELLY

Goose O. – KELLY

Michael F. – BRIE BELLA

CONSENSUS: By a margin of 9-3, we are predicting a NEW Divas Champion, with Kelly Kelly getting her first taste of gold.

Tag Team Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships
The Big Show and Kane (c’s) vs. The New Nexus (CM Punk and Mason Ryan)

Dave S. – NEW NEXUS.

Nick G. – SHOKANE

Josh B. – PUNK & MASON

Jose M. – NEW NEXUS

Mike T. – NEW NEXUS

Ryan R. –

Greg W. –

Anthony V. – THE NEW NEXUS. I was really mixed, not sure who to pick. I think the WWE wants to really build back up The Nexus and it starts with the Tag Team Titles. However if Kane and Show loses, I think Punk or Mason Ryan take Kofi’s title the next PPV.

Greg M. – BIG SHOW & KANE; These guys are being built as the unclimbable mountain, and I think that should continue. The New Nexus don’t need these belts for where they’re going.

Darragh O. –

Clinton B. – SHOKANE

Evan O. – SHOKANE

Matt O. – PUNK & RYAN

Goose O. – SHOKANE

Michael F. – NEW NEXUS

CONSENSUS: Another match that saw the staff very divided, the NEW NEXUS narrowly squeaked out our support, as 7 people feel we’ll see new Tag Team Champions crowned.

Singles Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Wade Barrett (c) vs. Ezekiel Jackson

Dave S. – JACKSON.

Nick G. – BIG ZEKE

Josh B. – BARRETT

Jose M. – BIG ZEKE

Mike T. – BIG ZEKE

Ryan R. –

Greg W. –

Anthony V. – BARRETT. The Corre will distract Jackson enough to get the heelish victory. Keep an eye on Jackson, he could surprise some people.

Greg M. – BARRETT; The Corre feels so much fresher now, and they have some gas in the tank again. No need to catapult Zeke straight to the gold.

Darragh O. –

Clinton B. – BIG ZEKE

Evan O. – BARRETT

Matt O. – BARRETT

Goose O. – BIG ZEKE

Michael F. – EZEKIAL JACKSON

CONSENSUS: With another score of 7-5, the staff is once again predicting a title change, with big Ezekial Jackson pulling the Intercontinental Championship out of the hands of the Corre.

Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Randy Orton (c) vs. Christian

Dave S. – ORTON.

Nick G. – ORTON

Josh B. – RANDALL K ORTON

Jose M. – ORTON

Mike T. – ORTON

Ryan R. –

Greg W. –

Anthony V. – ORTON. I would like Christian to win the championship again, but this will be too soon. Orton is to Smackdown what Cena is to Raw. The face of Smackdown retains, and this will be the match of the night.

Greg M. – ORTON; Not as cut-and-dry as many seem to think. This match largely hinges on which direction they want to go with this feud, and who (if anyone) is turning heel. I’m expecting Christian to turn, so Orton retains.

Darragh O. –

Clinton B. – ‘PRANCIN’ RANDY ORTON

Evan O. – ORTON

Matt O. – ORTON

Goose O. – ORTON

Michael F. – RANDY ORTON

CONSENSUS: In quite possibly the biggest talking point in the WWE over the past month, Christian won and lost the World Heavyweight Title in the same week. In this rematch, the staff is unanimously picking RANDY ORTON to retain the championship.

I Quit Match for the WWE World Championship
John Cena (c) vs. The Miz

Dave S. – CENA.

Nick G. – CENA

Josh B. – CENA

Jose M. – CENA

Mike T. – CENA

Ryan R. –

Greg W. –

Anthony V. – CENA. Again what Orton is to Smackdown; Cena is to Raw. The Miz will quit. Cena continues his undefeated run in “I Quit” matches.

Greg M. – CENA; This feud is out of legs, and it’s time to move on to other challengers. Never give up.

Darragh O. –

Clinton B. – DOC THUGS, JOHN CENAR

Evan O. – CENA

Matt O. – CENA

Goose O. – CENA

Michael F. – JOHN CENA

CONSENSUS: We close things out with the fourth unanimous decision of the card, out of only eight matches. By a score of 12-0, we expect JOHN CENA to be shouting that the Champ is here.

Dismissal

Before dismissal, I would like to personally thank CJ Bowman and Greg McNeish in taking care of the predictions this weekend as I am out “on assignment”.

Well, that does it for the eighth round of Predictions from the Faculty for the 2011-2012 season.

And remember students, this is YOUR column too! Please present to me your choices for the winners of any PPV by e-mail at mistervwv@hotmail.com or by sending me an inbox message on Facebook. Winner of each PPV receives a coveted (and NEVER duplicated) Gold Star in my next column and will be named the “Student of the Week” for the next Predictions article. Also, you are one step closer to a prize that if one is in the top three they will win a prize (and even the last place person as well, no one in between).

Well, that does it for us, class. On behalf of my peers on WrestleView I bid you farewell. We will be taking a 21-day recess and will be back with our predictions for TNA’s Slammiversary IX PPV. As always, thank you for reading our predictions. Now go and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Be sure to check out all the VIP material before Over the Limit, including The Teacher’s Lounge hosted by Dave Stephens and myself and The Velvet Room by Clinton Bowman, Nicholas Gray, and Greg McNeish. Also, for $4.99 a month you get so much for your money, including this weekend’s Pay-Per-View Post-Show hosted by Adam Martin, Hunter Golden, and Doug Lackey.

Thank you for reading and to those that do, participated in the column. We appreciate your feedback.

Once again, here is how you can join in on our predictions game. Please use these methods. If you post them under the “comments”, they will not be counted.
