WWE takes legal action against rock band

The rock band Nada Surf recently announced that their new album release would be delayed due to legal action from WWE. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the band admitted to screwing up and violating WWE copyrights by using a clip of Harley Race from the 1983 Carolinas feud where Race put up a $25,000 bounty on anyone who could take out Ric Flair. Part of the song “Somebody Take the Damn Money” used a clip of Race’s promo. The band figured it wouldn’t be an issue with Jim Crockett Promotions being out of business and didn’t realize WWE owned the Crockett library.
