Report: Plans for Pay Per View, WWE Network

Upon the launch of the WWE Network in April 2012, WWE’s current Pay Per View offerings are planned to see a switch to that network. According to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, business will remain the same January-April with WWE providing the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Wrestlemania 28 on PPV. Events from April through December (not including SummerSlam in August and Survivor Series in November) will run on the WWE Network. For those unable to get the new WWE Network, the company will still provide the events on PPV for $44.95. One example cited was the launch of the NFL Network and running football games on Thursday night forcing customers to create a demand for the channel on other cable providers. The hope is that by WWE pushing these “B” PPV events to the network that it will cause an increase in clearance based on customer demand.
