Hello everyone, and welcome to the latest trek to the land of the Sunshine State with this week’s FCW recap. Decided to do away with the Florida Feedback and just give a regular thoughts column from now on. So, if you all are ready, then let’s get on with the show!

Your announcers are William Regal and Byron Saxton.

Audrey Marie and Kaitlyn defeated Sofia Cortez and FCW Divas Champion and Queen of FCW Raquel Diaz by pinfall when Audrey pinned Sofia with a rollup into a Backlund bridge.

Damien Sandow comes out and he demands his spotlight. He congratulates Richie Steamboat on his victory last week. He says he wants another match against Steamboat, but it does not have to be for the FCW 15 Title. He wants to make sure that Steamboat does not live up to his potential and vows to maim Steamboat.

Non-Title: Corey Graves and Eli Cottonwood def. FCW Tag Team Champions Brad Maddox and Briley Pierce by pinfall when Cottonwood pinned Pierce with a chokeslam.

We go to Dr. Bronson’s office where Abraham Washington thinks he is getting his psychological evaluation done for his job as Assistant to the General Manager, but it is not that type of examination. Bronson gets out the plastic glove for a more invasive examination.

Triple Threat Match to determine the #1 Contender for the Florida Heavyweight Title: Leakee def. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins by pinfall when Leakee pinned Ambrose with the Checkmate.

We go to the production booth where William Regal is showing Danielle Moinet some of the controls and in doing so, trying to flirt with her, when FCW General Manager Maxine walked in and was not happy with Regal. Maxine told Regal that she wanted to see him in her office.

Bo Rotundo def. Nick Rogers by pinfall with a spear.

Damien Sandow came out and demanded his spotlight. He tells everyone to enjoy this match because it will be the last time that you will see Richie Steamboat.

Main Event in a Non-Title Match: FCW 15 Champion Richie Steamboat def. Damien Sandow by disqualification after Sandow knocked out Steamboat with a wrench used to tighten the turnbuckles.

My Thoughts

Decent show this week.

Opening Divas match was actually pretty solid as Diaz and Marie were definitely impressive with their work. Kaitlyn still needs some work in the ring, but these matches can do nothing but help her going forward. And finally, Cortez, while still very green, is picking up things pretty nicely and has some definite potential.

The backstage bits were a mixture of intriguing with the Regal/Maxine/Moinet segment, to very strange, with the Bronson/Washington segment.

Tag match was good when Cottonwood was not in the match, as there is a reason why he is used sparingly in FCW, he is not that good. Otherwise, it was a pretty decent match. Liked Graves’ work, and Maddox & Pierce continue to work well as the oddball couple champs.

Good little 3 way with Leakee/Ambrose/Rollins. Surprised but not surprised to see Leakee get the win as he already had a non-title win against Kruger, so it makes sense to put him over here. All 3 guys worked well together, especially Ambrose and Rollins, who picked right up from where they left off in their great trilogy from last year. Best match on the show.

Nice quick squash for the returning Bo Rotundo, as he is another guy down in Florida who is pretty much ready to go. Liked his work before the injury, and I am intrigued in what he does going forward.

Finally, Damien Sandow was by far the MVP this week. 2 pretty good promos before the main event, and the main event was a merely an angle to get over Sandow as a ruthless heel. His facial expressions are top notch, especially the expression after he hit Steamboat with the wrench. This guy is pretty much ready to go in terms of call up and is a classic example of someone being released, learning from their mistakes, getting better, and finally coming back and showing the potential they always had. Hats off to him.

Overall, pretty decent show this week with a 3 way match between Leakee/Dean Ambrose/Seth Rollins that I recommend checking out.

My Grade: C+
