USA Today is featuring an article on the success of Tout and WWE’s involvement with the company early on.
“WWE, which produces the Raw wrestling events for arenas and television, was looking to beef up its social-media presence earlier in the year, and hit on Tout as a way for its wrestlers to record video updates on stage and off, and interact with fans.
“Video expression is the next evolution from text,” says WWE executive vice-president Stephanie McMahon. “TV producers are so engaged because you can put the Touts anywhere and really drive traffic to our channels.”
She says WWE has received great feedback from the Tout community. A short Tout video from ring announcer Jerry “The King” Lawler got a million replies within three days on Tout, Facebook and Twitter.
In fact, WWE is so pleased with its experience that it has invested an undisclosed amount in Tout.”
