According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter
, one of the big reasons behind the sales decline of last year's "WWE '12" video game was due to the fact that it was the first year that the yearly WWE video game was not on either the Playstation 2 or the Playstation Portable.
The sales for WWE '12 on the XBOX 360 and the Playstation 3 went up, but not enough to make up for the lost platforms. It has also been said that the sales for the Playstation 2 and Playstation Portable versions of previous WWE games were strong with those with lower income, which is a good amount of the WWE audience.
However, the whole video game industry is down 15 to 20 percent for sales this year, down 25 percent from last year and there is fear next year will be even tougher.
