WWE Tribute to the Troops Results
I attended Tribute to the Troops last night at Norfolk Scope.
The show opened with Lilian Garcia singing the National Anthem and a Joint Service Color Guard. Then, ADM Gortney, the Commander of United States Fleet Forces Command, gave an opening address. After that, Kid Rock performed four songs.
Sheamus and Randy Orton def. Dolph Ziggler and Big Show. Sheamus pinned Big Show after an RKO and a Brogue Kick.
Ryback def. Alberto Del Rio. Before the match, ADR led the crowd in singing Happy Birthday in Spanish to Ricardo. As Ryback was going for the Meat Hook clothesline, Ricardo jumped on his back leading to the DQ. Then Ryback gave both Del Rio and Ricardo Meat Hook clotheslines and Shell Shocked.
Team Hell No and R-Truth def. 3MB. R-Truth pinned Heath Slater with the Little Jimmy.
Miz TV segment with Kermit and Miss Piggy. Miz grills Kermit to marry Miss Piggy live on Miz TV, which gets interrupted by Damien Sandow. Miz knocks down Sandow with a punch, they exchange words, and have a match. Miz def. Sandow with a crucifix pin. Loud Miz chants and lots of heat for Sandow.
Layla def. Eve in a non-title match with the Bombshell roundhouse kick.
Great Khali, Hornswoggle, Brodus Clay, and Sin Cara def. Tensai, David Otunga, Primo, and Epico. Hornswoggle pinned David Otunga after a Sheeplex from Brodus and a Tadpole Splash.
Flo Rida performed four songs.
John Cena def. Antonio Cesaro with the AA. Before the match Cesaro cut an anti-American promo, proclaming the USA, the United States of Antonio. The crowd was hugely behind Cena.
After the match, Cena thanked the crowd for their service as the entire roster came to the stage. He then brought out Mick Foley as Santa Claus who was brought to the ring by his reindeers: Santino, the PTP, Zack Ryder, Yoshi Tatsu, Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, and the Usos. The roster circled ringside shaking hands and tossing out toys and shirts. Triple H appeared, but Vince did not. Triple H received a nice pop as he headed to the back. ADM Gortney was awarded a WWE title.
