Update on WWE calling PPV events “special events”

A previous report by Dave Meltzer had stated that WWE had planned to start referring to PPV events as “special events” going forward with the launch of the WWE Network. However, Extreme Rules continued to be referred to as a PPV during the entire broadcast last Sunday night including on commentary.

Top WWE merchandise sellers for April 2014

For the month of April, more people purchased merchandise for the Ultimate Warrior than anyone else including John Cena. Regarding internet merchandise numbers, top sellers (in order) included Warrior, John Cena, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, The Wyatt Family, The Shield, Evolution and Hulk Hogan. At arenas, top sellers included John Cena (far ahead of everyone else), Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, Ultimate Warrior, Rob Van Dam, Brock Lesnar, The Wyatt Family, Batista and Sin Cara.
