1990s WWE, SMW wrestler Jimmy Del Ray passes away

Former WWE, WCW and Smoky Mountain wrestler David “Jimmy Del Ray” Ferrier, passed away on Saturday (12/6) at the age of 52 years old via a heart attack according to a report by Mike Johnson. Del Ray had been part of the Heavenly Bodies tag team with Dr. Tom Pritchard and managed by Jim Cornette and wrestled for WWE, WCW and Smoky Mountain Wrestling throughout the 1990s. Del Ray retired from wrestling in 1997 due to a knee injury and then began a wrestling school with Steve Keirn in Florida before stepping away from wrestling in the early 2000s. Del Ray’s final wrestling appearance was during the Mid-Atlantic Legends Fanfest this past August.
