Travel bans issued in Hartford, update on RAW taping

During a news conference earlier today, Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced a travel ban for the entire state as of 9PM ET tonight with the impending blizzard that is set to hit the Northeast from tonight into Tuesday, dropping between 1 to 2 feet of snow. Previously, travel bans have meant that only emergency vehicles and Department of Transportation snowplows would be allowed on the roads. It was also announced that all public transportation in Connecticut would be shut down as of 8PM ET. WWE RAW is slated to be live tonight in Hartford, Connecticut at the XL Center and tonight’s show is in jeopardy of airing, which would be the first time that weather would prevent a live RAW from taking place.

Governor Mallow had said the following about the RAW taping tonight:

“As of now, the event is still taking place, but as important to the world economy wrestling is, public safety tops it.”

There will be some sort of RAW airing on the USA Network tonight and a decision on whether or not Smackdown will be taped tomorrow night in Boston will be made later today.

WWE nor the XL Center in Hartford has officially confirmed the cancellation of tonight’s show.
