We see highlights from Takeover: Rival, then we go to NXT GM William Regal in his office, who says that even though Kevin Owens won the NXT Title, he doesn’t get to make the rules, Regal does, so Owens will face Adrian Neville in a Non-Title match in tonight’s main event.
The music hits of new NXT Champion Kevin Owens, who makes his way to the ring and has a mic. Owens says that he said what he was gonna do and he did it, he defeated Sami Zayn and is the new NXT Champion, by any means necessary. Sami Zayn is now in the past, I look at the future, which is Finn Balor. Owens says that Balor will be like anyone else he faces, he will do whatever it takes to win and no one is gonna take the NXT Title from he, or his family.

Backstage, Devin Taylor interviews Finn Balor about his upcoming NXT Title shot against Kevin Owens. Balor says what he wants to say, then Rhyno walks in the interview area, stares down Balor, then walks off.
Before the next match, the Jersey Boys cut a promo, saying that they are gonna get themselves a title shot because its now their time to get one after every other team has gotten a shot but them.
The Jersey Boys w/Carmella def. The Vaudevillains when Cassady pinned Gotch with the East River Crossing.
Afterwards, Blake & Murphy cut a promo on the Titantron, ripping on the Jersey Boys, then flirting with Carmella, saying she should leave those two sewer rats for some real men.
Backstage, Adrian Neville is interviewed about his match with Kevin Owens tonight, saying that now he is out of NXT Title contention, that makes him the hunter going after the hunted and he will be looking to get revenge on Owens tonight for putting him in hospital 2 months ago.
Backstage, Bayley says that although she didn’t win the NXT Women’s Title at Takeover: Rival, she promises that she will win the title one day.
We then go to Becky Lynch, who says that the match at Takeover: Rival was the biggest match of her career, she was this close to winning the NXT Women’s Title, but Bayley prevented her from doing so. If someone was to win, she is glad it was Sasha, but she is very happy that Charlotte lost.
CJ Parker comes out and whines about not being on Takeover: Rival, saying he hates NXT and the fans and is hijacking the show. Parker begins putting police tape around the ring, when we see the technical difficulties from the past few weeks and all of a sudden, the debuting Solomon Crowe runs out and attacks Parker, laying him out with a slingshot splash. Crowe grabs the mic and says that we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks def. Blue Pants (Leva Bates) by submission with the Bank Statement.
Afterwards, Sasha cuts a promo, saying that with winning the NXT Women’s Title, everyone will have to admit that she is the baddest Diva in NXT.
We see video from after Takeover: Rival with the doctors tending to Sami Zayn.
We then go to Dr. Chris Amann, talking about Sami Zayn’s injury, saying Zayn had a CAT Scan, which went OK and Zayn went ahead in fulfilling his committment to be on the Abu Dhabi tour and should be back to NXT in a few weeks.
Main Event: NXT Champion Kevin Owens def. Adrian Neville with the Pop-Up Powerbomb.
