Hulk Hogan says he turned down opportunity with the UFC

Petere Rolfe of the Herald Sun in Australia is featuring an interview with WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan about his recent visit to Melbourne to promote WWE’s upcoming tour of the country this August. During the interview, Hogan claims he turned down an opportunity to get involved with the UFC during the very early years of the promotion.

“We looked at it and it was very violent and the referees weren’t stopping the matches and letting guys get beat up when they should have been stopped. So we just didn’t want to have any part of it but it’s become quite a phenomena.”

UFC founder Campbell McLaren took to Twitter to dispute the comments by Hogan.

“I never wanted Hulk Hogan in UFC. No one asked him. Bullsh*t if he says different.”
