WWE comments on ISIS attack threat for Survivor Series

WSB-TV in Atlanta is reporting that FBI officials have confirmed and are taking seriously a report uncovered by the hacker group Anonymous on Saturday revealing a potential threat for an ISIS related terrorist attack at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia – the site of tomorrow night’s live WWE Survivor Series PPV event.

An article by the International Business Times broke down what Anonymous uncovered adding, “Anonymous also said the Islamic State group is planning an assault at the WWE Survivor Series event scheduled to take place in the Philips Arena in Atlanta Sunday at 7:30 p.m. EST, as well as attacks at multiple events in Paris.”

Other potential targets uncovered by Anonymous includes multiple targets in Paris (Cigales Electroniques with Vocodecks, RE-Play & Rawtor at Le Bizen/Concrete Invites Drumcode: Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Joel Mull at Concrete/Demonstration by Collectif du Droit des Femmes), Feast of Christ the King celebrates (Rome), Al-Jihad, One Day One Juz (Indonesia), Five Finger Death Punch concert (Milan) and University Pastoral Day (Lebanon).

WWE issued the following statement in response to the threats.

“WWE Survivor Series is currently scheduled as planned while we investigate the matter with federal, state and local authorities.”

We will continue to follow this story as it develops.
