WWE SummerSlam 2016 sold out

This year’s WWE SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21 from Brooklyn at the Barclays Center is officially sold out according to a report by PWInsider. 2016 marks the second year in a row the event will be held in Brooklyn.

Dr. Phil on WWE RAW next week on April 11

WWE has announced that daytime talk show host Dr. Phil will appear as a guest star on next week’s Monday Night RAW (April 11) on the USA Network live from Los Angeles.

NPR on WWE embracing the women’s sports revolution

Laura Wagner of NPR is featuring an article looking at WWE dropping the term “Divas” and introducing the new WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 32.

“This shift is the latest step in a social-media movement created by pro wrestling fans called #GiveDivasAChance, which demanded dynamic, more developed roles for female performers in the dramas of pro wrestling. The movement has been gaining momentum — in February #GiveDivasAChance trended on Twitter for three days — and the WWE has been paying attention. Female performers are no longer just decorations for the men’s matches.”
