Vince McMahon says NXT drove decision for brand split

During a WWE conference call on Thursday morning following the reveal of WWE’s Q2 2016 financial report, Vince McMahon said the growth of NXT and the WWE Performance Center drove the decision to bring back the brand split on WWE television per a recap by Prowrestling.net. He said the brand split allows them to produce more Pay Per View and live events adding, “It’s a really big move on revenue and on the brand in general.”

Flo Rida concert

WWE, the Barclays Center and iHeartMedia have partnered to present a special WWE SummerSlam Concert on Thursday, August 18 featuring Flo Ride and Jason Derulo. WWE stars Stephanie McMahon, Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, The New Day, The Bella Twins, Big Show, The Miz, Maryse, R-Truth, Charlotte, Dana Brooke, The Usos and Naomi are all advertised to appear. Proceeds will help benefit Connor’s Cure. Tickets go on sale this Friday (July 29).

The Rock’s HBO show renewed

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed on Instagram today that his HBO show “Ballers” has already been renewed by the network for a third season.
