WWE Universal Championship

RAW General Manager Mick Foley just sent out a tweet around a half hour before RAW tonight revealing that Finn Balor has been forced to relinquish the WWE Universal Championship after suffering an injury at SummerSlam last night.

As reported earlier, Balor suffered a dislocated shoulder and a possible labrum tear after taking a powerbomb to the ring barricade from Seth Rollins at SummerSlam in Brooklyn on Sunday night. WWE posted footage of when the injury took place.

You can check out Foley’s tweet below.

We will have live coverage of RAW tonight beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET (7:00 CT).

  1. First Sting got hurt from that move and now Finn. I think it might be time to retire that move from you repertoire Mr Rollins.

  2. Lesnar won’t get it. They won’t use up his appearances now because they want him at Survivor Series and will not go another 3 months without a championship on RAW.

  3. Here’s a question. How can WWE justify having him on the roster when the USADA suspends his ass for two years?

  4. They apparently already justified it by saying the wellness policy doesn’t apply to part timers.
