WWE reveals injury for Samoa Joe
WWE.com is reporting that Samoa Joe suffered an injury to his right foot during last night’s RAW in Memphis and has been pulled from the Mixed Match Challenge show as a result.
WWE Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Chris Amann provided more details on Joe’s injury.
“During his match, [Samoa Joe] felt a pop at the bottom of his [right] foot. We took a look and believe he has a plantar fascia rupture, which is a thick tissue rupture under the foot. We will get an MRI to confirm. Treatment includes a period of immobilization in a boot with crutches and platelet rich plasma injections.”
WWE did not address if the injury will cause Joe to miss the Royal Rumble match.
New Mixed Match Challenge teams set for next week
WWE revealed two new teams for the Mixed Match Challenge starting up next week.
Elias will team with Bayley, while Shinsuke Nakamura will team with Natalya.
Samoa Joe was originally scheduled to team with Bayley, put was pulled due to injury.
The updated teams are as follows:
