Goldberg to be inducted into the Class of 2018 WWE Hall of Fame this April in New Orleans

ESPN.com is reporting that Goldberg will be inducted into the Class of 2018 Hall of Fame, likely as the headliner, during WrestleMania 34 weekend in New Orleans this April.

Goldberg, 51, took part in a brief comeback with the company starting at the Survivor Series PPV in 2016 when he defeated Brock Lesnar.

He would later take part in last year’s Royal Rumble and then defeated Kevin Owens in March at Fastlane to become the new WWE Universal Champion. He lost the Universal Title to Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 and hasn’t wrestled since.

Goldberg spoke with ESPN about finding out the news he was an official inductee.

“At the end of the day, any business, any venture that you embark upon, you want some type of acknowledgement. You always try to make it to a top. There’s no reason to do anything unless you want to be the best. My comeback had everything to do with a change of heart on both sides. For that, I am greatly appreciative, because that was a dark side in my psyche. When I heard ‘wrestling’ or ‘WWE’ I’d kind of want to put it off to the side and not think about it. It didn’t evoke the most positive of memories, but it’s funny how that’s changed completely in the past couple of years.”

WWE also made the announcement official on Monday morning as well.
