Bobby Fish undergoes surgery on Thursday

Bobby Fish, one half the current NXT Tag Team Champions along with Kyle O’Reilly, underwent surgery for “minor tears” in both his ACL and MCL according to a new report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online.

As reported earlier, Fish suffered the injury during an NXT live event in Indianapolis on March 4. As of now, Adam Cole is scheduled to replace Fish to defend the titles at the upcoming NXT TakeOver: New Orleans event on April 7.

While plans are subject to change, Cole will pull double duty that night competing in both the tag title match and the ladder match to crown a first ever NXT North American Champion featuring Killain Dain, Lars Sullivan, The Velveteen Dream, EC3 and Ricochet.

Fish is expected to be out of action for at least six months.
