Triple H addresses the status of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

The WWE World Heavyweight Championship is on a table in the center of the ring. Michael Cole announces there will be breaking news regarding the title tonight. The Authority’s music hits, and Triple H makes his way to the stage. As Triple H makes his way to the ring, they show a tweet from Jonathan Coachman of ESPN announcing that Seth Rollins blew out his knee this past week and had to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The crowd chants for Triple H. Triple H says he wants to take a moment to acknowledge a great champion. Triple H acknowledges Seth Rollins, who gets a nice hand from the crowd. When he and Stephanie McMahon chose Rollins as the future of WWE, they had high expectations of what that future would be, and Rollins exceeded those expectations. The crowd chants, “Thank you Rollins.” Triple H thanks Rollins for giving back the faith they had in him. Rollins went through all opponents and retained his championship. On the way to becoming one of the greatest WWE World Heavyweight Champions of all time, tragedy struck. In Dublin, Ireland, he blew out his knee. While Rollins is still the man, he’s no longer the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The crowd loudly boos that.

Triple H asks who will step up and fill that void. A few weeks ago, we determined a new number one contender to face Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H then introduces Roman Reigns to the crowd. Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring through the crowd. It sounds like the crowd is booing him, but it’s being covered up. Triple H says there is a tournament that starts tonight to determine who will be the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Triple H says it seems unfair that Rollins is no longer the champion. It’s also unfair that Reigns went from being the number one contender to the bottom of the pile having to earn his way back up. It’s unfair, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Triple H says it could be a lot easier. It could be that Reigns doesn’t have to enter the tournament. All the other guys could do battle just for the right to fight Reigns at Survivor Series to see who becomes the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. That seems much more fair. Triple H wants Reigns to understand one thing he’s never told him before, but the reality is when they made Rollins the future of WWE, they strongly considered Reigns first. All that time when Evolution was fighting The Shield, he was scouting. Reigns has it all: size, strength, speed, charisma, aggression. Reigns has everything except for one thing: the willingness to do absolutely anything to be the man. That’s why Rollins has been the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Reigns has not. Triple H asks how it felt at WrestleMania after winning the Royal Rumble and earning the spot, coming close to beating Brock Lesnar only for Rollins to roll in and take that dream away from him. Triple H says he knows it sucks. Reigns maybe could have beaten Lesnar and won the title, but he’ll never know because Rollins had a willingness to do whatever it took, and Rollins walked out of WrestleMania with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. All these months later, Reigns still has it all, but has nothing to show for it. Reigns has dug, scratched, and clawed to earn his way back to it, and he has been met with wall after wall after wall. Triple H can make the walls go away. It doesn’t have to be that difficult. He’s not asking Reigns to do anything he hasn’t done. Reigns has earned his spot. Triple H asks if Reigns wants to be the man. If he does, all he has to do is be his man.

Reigns thinks about it before asking if Triple H will give him everything he’s earned and all he has to do is sellout? Triple H says that’s a word that people that don’t succeed created. Triple H tells Reigns to not let misguided morals ruin what he can get out of life. Criticism comes with the gate. If you don’t want to be criticized, then do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing. If he wants the title, he needs to live in reality. You will never be liked by everyone. Triple H says he’s offering him everything he ever wanted from the time he was a boy. Triple H puts the title on Reigns’ shoulder. Reigns has always wanted to say he’s the man and get everything that comes out of it. Reigns doesn’t want to die and have a tombstone that says, “Everyone liked me.” Triple H says he can have a monument. What’s most important to Reigns aside from this business is his family. He wants to set Reigns’ daughter’s daughter up for life. All he has to do is be Triple H’s man. A “YES” chant breaks out as Triple H extends his hand. Reigns says he’s earned everything and done it his way. Reigns has never taken a handout and no one can take that away from him. Reigns says Triple H can take his offer and shove it. Fake cheers are piped in.

Triple H thanks Reigns for reminding him why he didn’t choose him in the first place. Triple H welcomes Reigns to the back of the line. He tells Reigns not to go anywhere because his match starts right now. Big Show’s music hits, and he makes his way to the ring. Big Show’s left leg is in a thick brace. He seems to be limping to the ring. The first round of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament is next.

Change is actually what the WWE Universe needs. The WWE Universe has been cheering for the same old garbage. They cheer because they agree. The British fans are better than that. They consider themselves the smartest fans in the world, but they’re probably the dumbest because they worship a false idol like the Queen of England and pretend the Royal Family is actually a thing. That’s the dumbest thing he’s ever seen in his life. This change he’s going to bring isn’t for the people in England or the fans in America or around the world. This change is to benefit him and him only. Owens says he’s a prizefighter.
