RAW opens with a “in memory” graphic for the late Mr. Fuji.

A video package runs showing Finn Balor being forced to vacate the WWE Universal Championship last week and a series of qualifying matches taking place to setup Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Big Cass vs. Kevin Owens tonight to crown a new champion.

We go live to Houston where a quick display of pyro goes off. Corey Graves is in the ring with Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Big Cass and Kevin Owens. The WWE Universal Championship is sitting on a table in the middle of the ring.

Rollins cuts off the introduction of Graves saying the real reason they are all sitting out here right now is because of him. He said if it wasn’t for what he did to Finn Balor at SummerSlam, he wouldn’t have had to undergo reconstructive shoulder surgery and be forced to vacate the WWE Universal Championship. Rollins said he is clearly the favorite to win this match tonight. He offers to donate his speaking time to Kevin Owens.

Owens thanks Rollins and says he’s a fan of Corey Grave’s WWE Network show as it helps him sleep. He mocks having to sit around the title like a group therapy session. Owens said with Sami Zayn out of the picture (Rollins takes credit for that), he talks about being a prize fighter and he’s at his best when the stakes are high. Owens says Reigns fights hard, but he fights smart. He says Big Cass is, just, tall. Cass thinks that is important. Owens said it is great to see he can talk for himself instead of having that idiot Enzo talk for him.

Cass asks Owens if Chris Jericho wrote that joke for him. He talks about being new here, but that he has nothing to lose. “Nobody is expecting me to win,” added Cass. Rollins said he heard even Enzo took out a bet against Cass. Cass said he is no underdog and is the “biggest dog in this fight.” He tells Rollins that sizes “does matter” no matter what he’s been telling himself all these years. The crowd enjoyed that line.

Rollins tells them all to shut up and says he is taking his time back. He talks about this match being under elimination rules and sending Cass and Owens packing. Rollins thinks it comes down to Roman Reigns and how he beats Reigns every single time. He thinks we should hear from Reigns and wants Graves to ask him a question. Reigns stands up to talk and then takes out Owens with an uppercut. Rollins goes after Cass. Reigns cuts off Rollins. Reigns and Cass have a stare down. Rollins kicks Reigns into Cass. 48 COMMENTS

  1. Stephanie just screwed up. Whoever wins the Fatal 4 Way won’t be the first ever WWE Universal Champion. Tonight’s winner will be the second. Finn Balor was the first Universal Champion and was forced to relinquish it due to energy,

  2. Michael Cole you stupid idiot, Sami “injured” his right ankle not his left and Jinder Mahal was dragging him by his left ankle! Please quit commentary already!

  3. WWE seems to have adopted NBC’s Olympic policy of interrupting live events with commercial breaks every 5 minutes.

  4. i almost predicted that there will be outside inteference. didnt see HHH coming though. fed-up with all these inteference. heyyyy owen, nothing to be proud of. you didnt win at all

  5. They made the right call here. Owens provides a fresh presence in the main event scene. There’s plenty that they can do with him to keep things interesting, and a heel champion provides a means to develop some face talent, which is sorely needed.

  6. You idiot, Kevin Owens is the second most deserving Universal Champion in the Raw roster next to Rollins. He’s completely over with the crowd, he’s superb with the mic and he definitely fights like a prize fighter. So shut your mouth, retard.

  7. Dear God why. They sucked as a group and individually aren’t any better alone. Ambrose is by far the worst and God knows why reigns still wears a protective vest. Screams loser

  8. Hey….the return can be interesting…not like before..now there is too much story and all between them…and reigns’s kevler gives him pretty good look….u know warlike…

  9. I was hoping Owens wins and he did but thought Jericho might interfere and help him but no one saw that coming from HHH. Now Owens could have feuds with Rollins, Reigns, Zayn and Jericho as well.

  10. Return equals meh. If he wears kevlar, why does he get hurt when pushed or kicked in it. It he is wearing body armor why? It can be used as a hard weapon and therefore should be illegal. He has great physique. Why hide it. He looks stupid

  11. Namaste Abishek. By any chance you saw my mouth open?? idiot. what deserving are you referencing to?? who in hell pile drive the other opponent? and put owen the last player?? are you blind or what?? in my world , that is obviously cheating

  12. Congrats KO! Indeed YOU DESERVE IT!!! *clap clap clap clap clap*
YOU DESERVE IT!!! *clap clap clap clap clap*
YOU DESERVE IT!!! *clap clap clap clap clap*

  13. First of all his name is OwenSSSS, and he’s a freaking heel, he will cheat. Ever heard of a thing called keyfabe?

  14. Mick Foley can’t be upset, he won his championship with outside interference but received a louder pop.

  15. KO as the New Universal Champion… Raw deserves a STRONG HEEL CHAMP lIke Kevin Owens. “You Deserve IT”

  16. So is HHH just pissed he didn’t get the job as GM or are they “breaking up”? Anway, couldn’t be happier with that outcome.

  17. Great Ending after years…..HHH was all great as hell……the moment he killed Reigns…..I knew Rollins is next……I mean let’s say it…..be it an interfernce or not…..KO deserves that thing!!!!

  18. We all are desperately waiting for Owens vs Balor (upon his return from that freaking injury) and Owens vs Zayn at RAW……ratings will go sky high!!!!

  19. It always seems that WWE Creative do their best work when they have to change things quickly because of an injury. I hope to god this means we finally get a Rollins face turn because a face Rollins vs heel Owens feud is something I’d pay good money to watch

  20. Was that me or just everybody noticed that “You Deserve it” chant goes with KO’s theme song music……just like ‘John Cena Sucksssss’ goes with Cena’s????

  21. Even more influence? No idea, I’m just trying to come up with a reason/storyline why he “vanished” for a while and now apparently goes against his wife by screwing over the champ she wanted.

  22. Smackdown with has-been Miz still as IC champ, who knows if Usos become first Smackdown tag team champ and Nikki becomes first Smackdown women champ, I hope it’s Becky, AJ Styles and American Alpha become champs.

  23. What’s interesting here is that Steph doesn’t seem to know what’s going on either…or does she?

  24. The other explanation is that she is bat shit crazy. and I think I like this one better. hmm..

  25. When HHH showed up and pedigreed Reigns, I turned to the person I was watching RAW with and said “Dude, watch this, Rollins is next.” No sooner did he turn to me and say “no way in a million years”, did HHH turn on Rollins and “hand” the title to Owens.

    Brilliant ending.

Rollins can turn face (or Austin-like) now since we’re all dying to cheer for him anyways and KO with the UC just makes complete sense.

    Simply awesome.

  26. He will soon enough. And with Enzo as his mic piece, it’ll be awesome. Great to see him in the match and get a taste, can’t wait to see him hoist the gold and I can see that in another year or so.

  27. Care to explain how ko deserved it?…he got the title so that things could be made intresting…not because he deserved it
