“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

The show kicks off with Daniel Bryan coming to the ring. Bryan gets a tremendous reception. Ever since Fastlane, he has come out to this ring week after week trying to ignore the WrestleMania sign. He can’t ignore it anymore. He has to accept that he can’t repeat his WrestleMania moment from last year when the YES Movement took him all the way to the main event of WrestleMania. That door has close, but when one door closes another opens. A few weeks ago, he stood in the middle of this ring surrounded by some of the best WWE superstars fighting for the Intercontinental Championship. That got him to thinking about the guys who were his heroes. These are the people he watched when he was watching WrestleMania. Bryan then brings up names like Mr. Perfect, Ricky Steamboat, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and Randy Savage. They were all Intercontinental Champions at WrestleMania, and every time they were, they were more exciting than anything going on in the heavyweight division. Ever since he’s been in the WWE, the only title he hasn’t won is the Intercontinental Championship. Even though he can’t recreate last year’s WrestleMania moment, he can create a new one. Bryan made a request, and he is officially announcing he is in the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match at WrestleMania 31! The crowd starts a big “YES” chant.

Bad News Barrett’s music hits, and he makes his way to the ring without his Intercontinental Championship. Barrett says he has some bad news for Bryan. Despite what everyone thinks, he is still the Intercontinental Champion. After WrestleMania, he will remain the Intercontinental Champion. That’ll make him Bryan’s new hero.

Dolph Ziggler’s music hits, and he comes out to the ring. Ziggler says Barrett may never be Bryan’s hero, but Barrett is his hero. Ziggler says he’s never met someone so delusional and desperate to be relevant in his life. Where’s his title? Barrett can’t even hang on to the Intercontinental Championship. How will Barrett do that with six other superstars just as hungry as he is beating him up and throwing him off ladders at WrestleMania?

Luke Harper is out next. Harper gets in the ring and says he wants his WrestleMania moment before pointing at the sign. The other three men just stare at him. Harper then gets in Bryan’s face.

Dean Ambrose’s music hits, and he charges down to the ring. Ambrose says if they think they can get in that ring and start throwing fists and not invite him, then they should all be locked up for observation. He knows a good place is they need a recommendation. If they all really can’t wait until WrestleMania, he is always ready for a fight. Ambrose says he has no problem mixing it up with any of them right now. Ambrose then gets in the ring.

Stardust’s music hits, and he scampers his way down to the ring. Stardust looks under the apron and shouts at the announcers. Stardust asks where his white stallion of the Milky Way is. Where is the ivory enterprise? Everyone just stares at him.

R-Truth’s music hits, and he comes out to the stage with the burlap sack he put the Intercontinental Championship in on RAW. R-Truth asks Detroit, “What’s up?” R-Truth takes the title out of the bag and asks if they’re all looking for that. R-Truth knows Barrett is the champion, but he’s going to hold on to the title for safekeeping until it’s hung above the ring at WrestleMania. Even though he’s afraid of heights, he’ll climb the ladder. Barrett says R-Truth won’t make it to the second rung of the ladder before he pulls him down. R-Truth says possession is 9/10th’s of the law, which makes him the Big Boss Man. R-Truth says, “Hashtag come and get it!”

A brawl breaks out in the ring, and Bryan throws Barrett out of the ring. Ziggler then throws Stardust to the apron before Ambrose dropkicks him to the floor. Ziggler then ducks a clothesline from Harper before Ambrose gives him a back body drop out of the ring. Bryan, Ziggler, and Ambrose look at each other with hesitation.

One of the Matadors accidentally knocks Cesaro out of the ring, and Woods clotheslines that Matador out of the ring. Woods gears up for a plancha, but Jimmy steals his thunder. Woods then takes Jimmy out with a summersault plancha.

In the ring, Kidd rolls Kingston up, but Kingston turns it on him for a two count. Kingston goes for another roll up, but Kidd kicks out. Cesaro immediately uppercuts Kingston. Fernando tags himself in, and Kingston hits him with Trouble in Paradise. The referee is distracted during all this. Diego runs in and hits Kingston with a Backstabber to pick up the win. The only thing he hasn’t gotten is the André The Giant Memorial Trophy. When he puts his mind to it, he can get anything he wants. That makes him the odds on favorite. He’ll prove that tonight when he beats Ryback. Damien Mizdow says Ryback is a 295-pound machine. Miz says not only can he beat Ryback, he can do it all by himself. He doesn’t need Mizdow. A lot of men have come before them, and he wanted to see if Reigns could honor that and stand up to it. Henry chuckles and says the kid is an animal.
