Unified Tag Team Championship
Yoshi Tatsu & Goldust v. The Miz & Big Show

The match starts off with Goldust and The Miz in the ring. Goldust takes it to Miz with several strong punches to the face. This lasts briefly as Goldust tags in Yoshi. The back and forth sees Miz in a bit of desperation as Yoshi quickly tags Goldust back into the ring.

We come back with Yoshi and Big Show in the ring. This is bad news as the big man is destroying Yoshi. We see some very strong slaps from the Big Show. This includes Show standing and putting all of his weight straight on the Japanese Star. Miz gets the tag and heads right after Yoshi. After a struggle Yoshi is able to tag in Goldust. The Big Show causes a distraction on the outside and then hits a cheap shot on Goldust. Miz hits his finisher and this match is over!

Winners via Reality Check: The Miz & The Big Show

We learn a bit about the concept of NXT, and are informed that a WWE veteran will be mentoring a WWE developmental star. The first two combinations announced are:

Chris Jericho mentoring Wade Barrett

Matt Hardy mentoring Justin Gabriel

I?m calling it now, WWE NXT is going to be amazing!

Tiffany addresses the ECW Roster, Zack Ryder and Rosa Mendes decide to interrupt the address. Ryder says that what he has to say is far more important. He doesn?t understand why Jackson and Christian have a match, yet he is not in it for the Championship tonight. Rosa starts to go off in Spanish, but Tiffany interrupts and says that regardless of what language she asks in, the answer is still no.

Abraham Washington Show

The set is in the middle of the ring tonight! Atlas does the introduction and we are welcomed to the final Abraham Washington Show on ECW. Washington says that this means that next week he will be an official free agent in the WWE. He says that RAW and Smackdown will need to open up the big pocket books to afford him. Abe says that he went to Vince McMahon to personally get a great host for tonight’s show. He said that Vince gave him the biggest star in the WWE for this final broadcast. Abraham does the introduction and introduces? Abraham Washington.

Abe sits down to, well, interview himself it seems. Before this can gain any traction, Shelton Benjamin’s music hits and heads out to the set. Shelton says that this show is unwatchable when Abe has a guest, so there is no way anybody wants to watch it when there is no guest. Benjamin points out that since this is the last night of ECW, this means that EVERYBODY is a free agent.

Vance Archer’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. He says that Shelton better hope that they don?t end up on the same show. This lasts for about a minute. Abe is very nervous and mentions that they better not do anything to his set because he gets his security deposit back next week!

Caylen Croft and Trent Barreta’s music hits and they come down to the ring. Saying how boring this segment is. The leads to Kozlov coming out and saying? something. It was in Russian, he could have been talking about a dog show for all that I know. Archer interrupts saying that no one cares what he is saying, and tries to kick the Russian star! All hell breaks loose and Washington’s set is thrown everywhere. The segment ends with Shelton and Kozlov the last two men in the ring. They shake hands and celebrate as we head to commercial.

He thanks the fans, and puts over the impact made on ECW. He says that tonight he fights for every ECW Original, and all of the talent is in the back. ECW Championship : eXtreme Rules
Christian v. Ezekiel Jackson w/ William Regal

This is an eXtreme Rules match, which means anything goes. Jackson looks to have the advantage at the start as he uses his power to floor Christian. Christian heads to the outside and picks up a kendo stick to level the beast. Christian is back in the ring, and Zack Ryder hits the ring. He starts to attack Christian. Remember, this is anything goes tonight. Rosa Mendes has accompanied him to the ring. Christian gains the advantage and picks Ryder up and sends him face first into a trash can! Rosa enters the ring and starts to yell at Christian. She smacks him right across the face! Christian is not sure how to react, but before he can, TIFFANY runs from the back into the ring. She spears Rosa and throws her out of the ring!! Tiffany kicks Ryder & Rosa from ringside as we head to commercial. Tiffany looks amazing tonight, wow.

We come back as Jackson throws Christian to the outside. Jackson heads for the ring steps and slams Christian head first into them. Jackson picks up a trash can to hit Christian, but the Champion dodges, jumps on the ring steps and takes flight. He conneects with a missile dropkick to the trashcan which Jackson is holding.

Ezekiel heads to the shopping cart which contains all of the match’s weapons. He throws them all into the ring and then tries to shove the cart in Christian’s head. The Champ dodges, but ends up getting thrown head first and landing in the cart. Both men are back in the ring as Jackson whips Christian into the corner. Christian dodges a splash and hits his see-saw kick into a trash can lid that Jackson was holding. Jackson staggers and then slams a trashcan into Christian. The Champ is able to kick out of the cover.

Jackson heads to the outside and he and Regal grab a table from under the ring. While they are putting it in the ring, Christian connects with a baseball slide which slams the table into the two men. Christian goes for the cover, but Zeke kicks outs. Jackson throws Christian onto the table which is laying on the ground in the ring. Christian kicks out of the cover.

Jackson sends Christian to the corner and sets him on the top turnbuckle. Jackson then backs up and sets up the table. Christian looks to be hit with a Superplex, but escapes. He hits Jackson with a kendo stick and then heads to the outside to scare away Regal. Christian gets back in the ring and once again hits Jackson with a kendo stick. He is setting up for his finisher, but Regal has run back to the ring. He hits Regal with the Killswitch! This is the only moment Jackson needed as he picks Christian up and sends him crashing through the table with his version of the Rock Bottom.

ECW Thoughts

Man, I?m riled up tonight! ECW has reached an end and it looks like GREAT things are coming to this Tuesday night time slot. I?m tired of all the negativity that exists in the wrestling media. The ?cool? thing to do right now is to condemn and dismiss changes as soon as they are announced, let alone have a chance to take effect. Keep in mind that these are the same people that hated on ECW for the past two years, yet have barely even watched the product. So you can listen to those guys, OR you can side with yours truly. I have guided and conversed with the ECW viewers for the past two years in this recap. Some will say I?m biased. Personally, I just think I have the pulse on what you guys actually are enjoying. Because if you didn?t like the product, you wouldn?t be watching and reading my thoughts.

Pretty much everybody was ?on? tonight. I certainly don?t have any complaints about the show. I?m not going to analyze each moment because instead I just want to appreciate tonight’s show for what it was. The end of an era. A lot of people have been attacking ECW over the past couple weeks, which I did warn would happen. I?ll make the same point to you guys now, that I did then: there have been many great moments on this weekly Tuesday night program. We?ve seen new talent develop and older talents reinvent and reinvigorate themselves. There have been some really great matches, and some really great moments. All in all, I?m thankful that the WWE made the decision to bring back the brand, and I look forward to what the future holds.

The question of whether or not the ECW Championship would still be around was pretty much answered tonight. Christian said that if he won the match he would be the LAST ECW Champion, so it looks like they will do the smart thing and retire the belt. I have no problem with Jackson winning as it gave him a great heel rub. These writers knew what they were doing tonight, and they did it well.

As a side note, Tiffany looked absolutely amazing tonight! I think this was the needed moment that will transition her into a wrestling role on one of the other brands. I?ve actually heard good things about her in ring talent, so I look forward to her work. In a piece of news that is not entirely related to ECW but my fellow male readers will appreciate: Tiffany (under her real name Taryn Terrell) posed for a photoshoot in the Feb/March2010 issue of Playboy’s Book of Lingerie . Just thought I?d share.

Anybody know the name of the song used in the previews for NXT? I?d love to know the name of it so that I can find it.

I would like to say that my intention as of this moment is to transition with the WWE as we make the change into what comes NXT (that pun is going to get old, real quick (but I?ll keep using it till it becomes fresh again)). I will certainly cover next week’s show and then I?ll see if there is a better approach to coverage then I have done in the past. This is far different from the usual shows so I may be doing something more along the lines of a synopsis, I?m not 100% sure yet. I need to actually see the program before I can decide. A lot of features will certainly be gone from the recap including the power rankings. Since these guys won?t be on the show I?ll be looking into a new system, I?m always open to suggestions so don?t? be afraid to send me a message.

I hope you have enjoyed the time I have spent with you guys over the past two years. It has been a great journey covering ECW and honestly could not have done it without your support. The WrestleView readers are the reason I keep writing, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
