A video package runs stating how two WWE superstars will chase their career forever tonight by winning a “Money in the Bank” briefcase.
A graphic opening hits welcoming us to the first ever WWE Money in the Bank PPV. We go live to Kansas City, Missouri where a huge display of pyro goes off.
Michael Cole welcomes us to the show live in Kansas City along with his broadcast partners Jerry “The King” Lawler and Matt Striker.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston is out first to kick off the show.
Smackdown “Money in the Bank” Ladder Match
WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Christian vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Matt Hardy vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Kane vs. Big Show
The bell rings and all eight competitors begin brawling and then break off to focus on Kane and Big Show. Kane and Big Show fight off the attacks. Both slap Cody Rhodes off a ladder he was trying to climb up. Big Show catches Kane with a big shoulder block. Big Show tries climbing up a ladder and he breaks one of the foot steps. Big Show with a series of chops and headbutts to Ziggler and Hardy. Big Show then launches the ladder at Kane on the outside. Big Show leaves the ring as Ziggler and Rhodes double team him with a series of kicks. McIntyre sets a ladder up against the ropes and catapults Christian face first into it. McIntyre sets up the ladder in the ring and Hardy cracks a smaller ladder across his back. Hardy begins climbing and Christian pulls him off. Hardy then pulls him off and drops some right hands. They brawl to the outside and Rhodes sneaks in. Kofi Kingston attacks him and pulls him off the ladder. Kingston starts climbing and Ziggler breaks that up. Ziggler climbs, gets his hand on the briefcase and Christian climbs up to cut him off. Both reach up and Christian gives Ziggler a hip toss off the top. Hardy tips the ladder over and Christian lands on his feet. Hardy with a Side Effect on Kingston and Christian with a neckbreaker on Rhodes.
Kane grabs both Hardy and Christian. They reverse and give Kane a double DDT. Hardy and Christian sandwich Kane with two ladders. Christian counters a Twist of Fate attempt and launches Hardy chest first on top of a ladder. Christian jumps on Hardy’s back and pulls up using the top rope. Rhodes pushes a ladder over that Christian gets on. Kingston and Hardy exchange shots on Kane. Rhodes with a back suplex on Kingston off a smaller ladder. Rhodes and Hardy climb up a bigger ladder and exchange shots at the top. McIntyre tips the ladder over and launches Hardy shoulder first into the steel post. McIntyre does the same to Rhodes. McIntyre takes out Ziggler next. Kane then pulls McIntyre outside the ring to stop his offense. Kane starts clearing away the WWE announce table and then does the same to the spanish announce table. Kane hits McIntyre with a big boot and drops Christian with a big right. Kingston catches Kane with a ladder to the face with a baseball slide from the ring. Kingston with elbows to McIntyre. Kingston catches McIntyre with Trouble in Paradise. Kingston grabs a nearby ladder and pulls it close to the spanish announce table that McIntyre is laying on. Kingston is up top, jumps and hits the boom drop over McIntyre crashing through the spanish announce table.
In the ring, Ziggler is climbing up a ladder, gets his hands on a briefcase, Big Show is in, kicks the ladder away, catches Ziggler in mid-air and gives him a huge chokeslam. Kane is in and Big Show hits some body shots. Big Show uses a ladder as a shield and rams it into Kane followed by a body splash into Kane again using the ladder. Christian and Hardy try to clothesline Big Show to the outside using a ladder, but Big Show grabs the ladder and pushes it back at Hardy and Christian. Big Show then hits a big splash over the ladder crushing Hardy and Christian in the process. Big Show then goes under the ring and pulls out a special reinforced ladder that weighs over 300 pounds. Big Show tries to dead lift it inside the ring and eventually brings it in through the top and middle rope. Big Show sets it up and Rhodes drives a ladder into the ankle of Big Show. Rhodes climbs and Ziggler gets him on his shoulders. Ziggler drops Rhodes with an electric chair drop (Rhodes comes close to hitting his head on another ladder on the way down). Ziggler starts climbing and Big Show chest slaps him away. Big Show with body shots to Hardy who walks up. Kingston springboards himself in the ring and he lands on the other side of the reinforced ladder. Kingston is able to catch Big Show with a DDT when he walks to the otherside.
Kingston is climbing back up and Rhodes catches him with a dropkick off the top turnbuckle to knock Kingston off. Rhodes gives Kingston the Cross Rhodes over a ladder. Ziggler knocks Rhodes off the ladder and then launches him back first into the reinforced ladder. Big Show with headbutts to Rhodes and Ziggler. Big Show is favoring his ankle as he starts climbing up the reinforced ladder. Kane is back in and he tips the reinforced ladder over sending Big Show over the top rope. Rhodes, Christian and Kingston toss a series of ladders on top of Big Show to keep him down. Kane is climbing up and Christian climbs up the same side. Hardy jumps in and is up top with Rhodes. Kane chokeslams Christian, Hardy and knocks Kingston away. Rhodes has his hand on the briefcase and Kane pulls him off. Kane is climbing up and Ziggler climbs over him. Kane pulls Ziggler down and Ziggler applies a sleeper. Kane drives Ziggler face first into the top of the ladder. Kane tosses Ziggler over the top rope onto the ladders that were covering Big Show. Kane goes to the outside and chokeslams Kingston over the ladders. Kane goes after Rhodes up the ramp and launches him face first into an armored truck. In the ring, Hardy is climbing up and Kane returns to pull him off. Christian is now climbing up with Kane.
Kane swats Christian away. Christian and Hardy both pull Kane off the ladder hitting a modified powerbomb. Christian and Hardy are both climbing up the ladder on opposite sides. Hardy has his hand on the briefcase. Christian now has it. Both have it and exchange shots. They both drive each other off the top of the ladder and back onto the ring mat. We see McIntyre rolling in the ring and he climbs up. Kane is back in and he chokeslams McIntyre off the top to the ring below. Kane reaches up and gets the briefcase.
Winner of the Smackdown “Money in the Bank” briefcase: Kane
After the match, Michael Cole mentions how the “Money in the Bank” briefcase has been cashed in six times and we have crowned six new champions in the process. We then see highlights of the match leading to the finish.
Backstage, Josh Mathews is with WWE Champion Sheamus and asks why he came to the aide of John Cena despite Cena being his opponent tonight inside a Steel Cage. Sheamus said he thought he was untouchable until he saw all of the attacks the Nexus carried out over the last few weeks. He said when he looked into the eyes of the Nexus members it was like looking into the eyes of a great white shark. Sheamus said he had to choose a side and he did on Monday night. Mathews asks if he respects Cean now. Sheamus said the only reason he came to Cena’s aide was to prove tonight that he can beat him without any excuses.
WWE Divas Championship
Alicia Fox (c) vs. Eve Torres
Lock up and Fox with a takedown on Eve. Fox mounts Eve, but Eve keeps it locked up. Eve then tosses Fox away. Eve with a quick cover for a close two count. Another rollup by Eve and Fox again kicks out. Eve catches Fox with a dropkick and clothesline in the corner. Eve catches Fox with an elbow in the corner, attempts a tornado DDT, but Fox wraps up the leg of Eve and pulls her off the top turnbuckle. On the outside, Fox drops Eve face first off the ring apron. Fox pulls Eve back in the ring by her hair. Fox drives her elbow into the back of Eve after launching her into the ropes two times. Fox with a backbreaker on Eve. Eve fights back driving a knee into the head of Fox. Fox shrugs it off and drops Eve with another backbreaker over her knee. Fox then executes a big tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a close two count on Eve. Eve fights back with a cross body and series of dropkicks on Fox. Eve tries to give Fox a suplex, but stops and favors her back. Eve kicks Fox away and hits a standing moonsault. Eve kicks Fox using the bottom rope to jump up in the corner. Eve with a flip dive from the corner and Fox gets her knees up. Fox with an axe kick to Eve and gets the pinfall.

We see highlights from Smackdown on Friday with Kane attacking Jack Swagger’s father. Backstage, Swagger is yelling at his mom on the phone and said he doesn’t feel responsible for what happened. He promises to snap Rey Mysterio’s ankle tonight and win back his world title.
WWE Unified Tag Team Championships
The Hart Dynasty (c’s) w/ Natalya vs. The Uso’s w/ Tamina
The bell rings and we start with David Hart Smith and Jay Uso. Smith with a big powerslam on Jay for a two count. Blind tag by Tyson Kidd who is launched up by Smith and takes out Jay with a head scissors takedown. Tag back to Hart and Jay tackles him hitting a few right hands. Tag to Jimmy Uso who hits Smith with some big rights. Jimmy stays on Hart with some big stomps. Cole calls us getting some vintage Rikishi when Jay is launched into the corner to the head of Hart by Jimmy. Smith with a high back body drop on Jay. Tag to Jimmy who prevents Hart from tagging in Kidd. Hart with a half belly-to-belly on Jimmy. Hot tag to Kidd who takes out Jay with a big dropkick to the head and stomps in the corner. Kidd with a springboard sunset flip on Jay, but Jay blind tags Jimmy and the pinfall is broken up. Jimmy drops Kidd with a huge samoan drop, cover and Kidd barely kicks out after two. Jimmy is up top for the splash and Kidd gets his knees up. Tag to Hart who takes out Jimmy with a big shoulder block. Hart goes to lock in a Sharpshooter on Jimmy, but Tamina distracts him. Natalya with a scoop slam on Tamina. Kid takes out Jay and Hart locks in the Sharpshooter on Jimmy. Jimmy taps out.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Jack Swagger
We get ring introductions for the challenger Jack Swagger and champion Rey Mysterio.
Rey Mysterio limped to the ring during his entrance. The bell rings and the two circle each other. Swagger shoots in for a takedown and Mysterio backs off to the corner. Swagger with a lock up and then launches Mysterio into the corner. Swagger shoves Mysterio and Mysterio pushes back. Swagger is going for an ankle lock early and Mysterio kicks him in the head to break it up. Mysterio drop toe holds Swagger into the ropes. Mysterio hits the ropes, Swagger charges, Mysterio with a springboard back flip into Swagger, Swagger catches him and sends Mysterio upside down into the tree of woe in the corner. Swagger charges and ends up hitting head first into the corner. Mysterio jumps from the top turnbuckle onto Swagger on the outside. Mysterio is back up on the top turnbuckle, Swagger jumps up and hits a big overhead belly-to-belly suplex (Swagger almost tripped on his way up the corner and during the execution of the move). Swagger applies a knee bar on Mysterio’s left leg. Mysterio with kicks to the face of Swagger to break it up. Swagger tries to catch Mysterio in the air, but Swagger botches the execution and drives Mysterio down near the corner. Swagger then tosses Mysterio away to the other corner and misses a body splash. Mysterio with a seated senton and favors his ankle when he lands.
Mysterio with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors sending Swagger to the corner. Mysterio with a quick snap moonsault on Swagger for a close two count. Swagger with a huge back suplex countering a jumping attack by Mysterio. Swagger catches Mysterio and hits a gutwrench powerbomb. Swagger hooks the leg and Mysterio gets his foot on the bottom rope to break up the pinfall. Mysterio kicks Swagger away in the corner. Mysterio climbs up to the shoulders of Swagger and sends Swagger face first into the corner. Swagger climbs up the top turnbuckle and gets Mysterio on his shoulder. In mid-air, Mysterio counters a body slam attempt into a huge DDT! Mysterio covers Swagger and gets a very close two count. Mysterio dumps swagger into the ropes and connects with a 619. Mysterio springboards up for a seated senton, but Swagger catches Mysterio and counters into an ankle lock. Mysterio grabs the ropes to break it. Swagger then hits his corner body splash two times. Swagger goes to apply the ankle lock again and pulls off the boot of Mysterio. Mysterio rolls through dumping Swagger into the ropes. Swagger is back up, Mysterio hits a huricanrana into a pinfall to get the win!
Winner & STILL WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Rey Mysterio
After the match, we see a replay of the finish. Jack Swagger then applies an ankle lock on Rey Mysterio. Mysterio screams out in pain. Kane runs down and goes after Swagger. Kane brawls with Swagger up the ramp to the back. Mysterio goes to celebrate his win, but Kane’s pyro goes off. Mysterio can’t believe it. Kane hands the briefcase to the referee and we call for the bell.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Kane
The bell rings and Kane goes after the injured ankle of Rey Mysterio right away. Kane with a huge chokeslam on Mysterio. Kane has Mysterio up and connects with the Tombstone Piledriver. Kane covers Mysterio and gets the pin.
Winner & NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Kane
After the match, Kane drops the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the ground and does his pyro pose. Kane walks off and heads to the back with the World Heavyweight Championship in hand.
Backstage, Edge and Chris Jericho argue about who will win tonight’s Raw “Money in the Bank” ladder match.
WWE Women’s Championship
Layla (c) w/ Michelle McCool vs. Kelly Kelly w/ Tiffany
Lots of offense from Kelly early on. Layla fought back dropping Kelly’s leg inside the ring apron and getting in some big body kicks. Layla ended up launching Kelly into Michelle McCool at ringside. McCool recovered and taunted Kelly at ringside saying the referee count. Kelly knocked McCool over the time keepers barricade. Kelly hits a facebuster on Layla and McCool puts Layla’s leg on the bottom rope to break up the pinfall. Kelly and Tiffany take out McCool at ringside. In the ring, Layla mounts Kelly and pins her to get the win.
Winner & STILL WWE Women’s Champion: Layla
After the match, Matt Striker hands both WWE Women’s Championship belts to Layla and Michelle McCool.
Raw “Money in the Bank” Ladder Match
Randy Orton vs. WWE U.S. Champion The Miz vs. Mark Henry vs. Ted DiBiase w/ Maryse vs. John Morrison vs. Chris Jericho vs. Evan Bourne vs. Edge
We start things with Edge bailing and both Miz and Evan Bourne taking out Mark Henry in the corner. Edge returns to the ring when everyone is out. Randy Orton pulls him off a ladder that Edge set up. Orton kicks Edge out and mounts Edge hitting some right hands. Ted DiBiase tries to use a ladder, but Morrison ducks and kicks him in the back. DiBiase fires back giving Morrison a big clothesline over a ladder. DiBiase takes out Orton with a ladder, but Bourne dropkicks the ladder into DiBiase’s face. Miz then dumps Bourne over the ladder and tosses him out. Miz and Jericho start to go at it exchanging shots. Henry launches a ladder at both taking them out. On the outside, Jericho sends a ladder face first into Henry. In the ring, Bourne ducks under a ladder Jericho has and hits a big kick to the back of the head. Bourne climbs up a ladder, Edge is trying to pull him off, Bourne jumps off and hits a huricanrana on Edge. Orton is in and starts going after Bourne with right hands and kicks. Orton pulls Bourne through the openings of the ladder and drops him with a DDT. Morrison with a springboard kick to the head on Orton. DiBiase and Miz double team Morrison. Miz props a ladder in the corner. They toss Morrison towards it. Morrison puts on the breaks and launches both Miz and DiBiase into the ladder when they charge in.
Morrison is climbing a ladder and Edge is climbing up top on the other side. Edge and Morrison exchange shots and Jericho sneaks in climbing up another ladder reaching up. Orton is up on Jericho’s ladder getting in a few shots. The briefcase is swinging back and forth as all foru men reach. Henry is back in and pushes both ladders over standing in the middle of the two sending all four off the ladders. Bourne springboards himself using a ladder that fell into the ropes hitting Henry with a knee to the face. Maryse checks on DiBiase at ringside and then decides to get in the ring. Maryse takes off her heels and sets up a ladder under the briefcase. Maryse is reaching up when Morrison grabs her by the leg. Morrison puts her on his shoulders, sets her down and tells her to get out of the ring right now. Miz sneaks in and climbs up. Morrison reaches and Miz kicks him in the face. Miz tries to sandwich Morrison in the corner with a ladder, but Morrison moves. A ladder on the outside is leaning against the ring. Morrison climbs up that and uses a ladder that was against the corner to push himself to the middle ladder. Edge is up top and goes after Morrison with right hands. Edge gets Morrison trapped on the inside of the ladder dropping another ladder over his chest with help from Miz. Edge then hits Miz with the ladder.
Edge pushes the ladder over with Morrison still stuck in the middle. Morrison screams out in pain (and lets out a rather loud FU#K!). DiBiase is playing tug-of-war with Jericho over a ladder and brings it inside the ring. DiBiase hits Orton with the ladder when Orton got up on the ring apron. DiBiase also took out Edge in the ring sending him into another set of ladders. DiBiase sets his ladder up, climbs and Henry catches up with him. DiBiase jumps at Henry who catches him and connects with the world’s strongest slam. Henry kicks a ladder into the face of Jericho when he charges in. Miz charges and Henry catches him and drops him on top of the ladder over Jericho. Henry is climbing up the ladder when Bourne jumps on his back and climbs up top. Bourne has the briefcase in his hands when Orton and Edge pull him off, toss him at Henry on the outside, Henry catches him, hits a slam, Morrison with a kick to the face on Henry, Jericho with a Codebreaker on Henry and Edge finishes off Henry with a spear. We have everyone on the ladder now besides Henry and DiBiase. DiBiase slides a ladder in the middle of that big ladder. DiBiase uses the ladder bridge he made to go after everyone else. Orton and Edge drop DiBiase down to his chest and then launch him from the ring to the outside with his ladder. Orton with an RKO on Edge.
Morrison and Jericho are battling up top for the briefcase. Morrison catches Jericho with a big right hand and Jericho falls back, but his leg is stuck in the ladder. Orton with an RKO on Morrison. Bourne follows that up with a Shooting Star Press on Orton. Bourne is reaching up and gets his hands on the briefcase. Bourne can’t unhook it. Jericho breaks free and gets in a few shots to the gut. Jericho hits Bourne in the face with the briefcase. Edge is now up on the ladder and gets in some shots on Jericho. Edge drops Jericho’s head off the top of the ladder and Orton hits an RKO on Jericho. Edge is reaching up when Orton knocks him off sending Edge crashing into the other ladder. Orton is climbing. Orton has the briefcase in his hands. Miz pushes the ladder over and Orton is down. Miz climbs up and gets the briefcase.
Winner of the Raw “Money in the Bank” briefcase: The Miz
After the match, The Miz calls for a mic. “You are all living in my moment. Call it overrated or created, however you call it, me winning this Money in the Bank contract means I made it…I made it! I made believers out of all you cynics and skeptics, all you pretenders, all you critics. Get a good hard look at the man with the briefcase. I am Mr. Money in the Bank. I am a future WWE Champion. Me! Me! Because I’m The Miz. And I’m…awesome. Awesome!” We then see highlights of the match leading to the finish.

WWE Championship – Steel Cage
Sheamus (c) vs. John Cena
We get ring introductions for the challenger John Cena and champion Sheamus.
Before the bell, a referee pad locks the door. The bell rings and here we go. Lock up and Sheamus sends Cena into the cage. Sheamus with some big shots and works over Cena in the corner. Cena fires back with a clothesline on Sheamus. Sheamus sends Cena face first into the side of the cage. Cena tackles Sheamus and gets in a few rights. Sheamus catches Cena with a high elbow in the corner. Cena with a quick suplex on Sheamus. Cena and Sheamus begin exchanging right hands. Cena with one shoulder block, attempts a second, Sheamus ducks and Cena hits the side of the cage with force. Sheamus is up on the top rope. Cena jumps up with and Sheamus hits him with a few rights. Cena fires back with a few jabs. They move near the top turnbuckle and Cena gives Sheamus a big superplex off the top. Cena hooks the leg and Sheamus kicks out after two. Sheamus with a quick DDT on Cena. Sheamus levels Cena with a sledgehammer to the face. Sheamus with another sledgehammer to Cena’s head that results in a two count. Cena fights back with a series of right hands and Sheamus counters with a sleeper. Cena is close to fading when he fires himself up, starts climbing up the corner wtih Sheamus still on his back, Sheamus drops down and chop blocks the leg of Cena to crotch him. Cena falls back, Sheamus with a cover and Cena kicks out after two.
Sheamus is up on the ropes, is close to the top of the cage, Cena is up and pulls Sheamus off the ropes by his leg. Sheamus lands jaw first across the top rope. Both men are down. Cena with two big shoulder blocks and then plants Sheamus with his twisting powerbomb. Cena with some five knuckle shuffle on Sheamus. Sheamus counters an Attitude Adjustment grabbing the steel cage and climbing up. Cena catches him and they are both standing on the top rope. Cena with a series of jabs to Sheamus. Cena drives the head of Sheamus into the side of the cage and Sheamus falls back into the ring. Cena goes for a top rope five knuckle shuffle, but Sheamus rolls out of the way. Cena has a cut over his left eye. Sheamus ties up Cena’s arms in the top and middle rope. Sheamus with some big right hands to Cena. Sheamus starts kicking Cena in the gut as well. Sheamus steps over Cena standing on his shoulders, Sheamus is close to the top of the cage and Cena breaks free of the ropes. Cena grabs Sheamus and connects with a top rope bulldog. Cena hooks the leg and Sheamus again kicks out after two. Sheamus counters out of an Attitude Adjustment and hits the Irish Curse (backbreaker). Sheamus with his running big boot to the face on Cena. Sheamus covers Cena and Cena somehow kicks out after two. Sheamus can’t believe it.
Sheamus looks to climb over the cage, but stops himself and stares down at Cena. Sheamus goes to pick up Cena when Cena gets him on his shoulders and connects with the Attitude Adjustment. Both men are down. We then see The Nexus walking down the ramp. Michael Tarver has a bolt cutter. The referee takes it away from Tarver and heads to the back. They turn their attention to the other referee at ringside and demand the key to the cage. The referee teases he will hand it to Wade Barrett, but then throws it into the crowd. In the ring, Sheamus counters an Attitude Adjustment. Cena tosses Sheamus into the referee who is now down. Cena locks on the STF. Sheamus taps. The referee is down. Cena climbs to the top of the cage and Justin Gabriel climbs up. Cena tosses him off the top to the ring inside. Cena is trying to climb down the side. Cena is being blocked by Nexus. Sheamus is climing up to the top on the other side of the cage. Heath Slater jumps up at Sheamus and Sheamus kicks him away. Cena is still being blocked on the other side. Sheamus jumps down and the referee calls for the bell. Sheamus takes off into the crowd and leaves the arena.
Winner & STILL WWE Champion: Sheamus
After the match, we see a shot of a frustrated John Cena. Cena sees Darren Young and tosses him into the side of the cage. Cena then levels Michael Tarver with a clothesline. Cena grabs part of the steel steps and launches it at Tarver. Cena grabs one of the Nexus arm bands and heads to the back. Cena heads to the back as the PPV goes off the air.
