The WWE opening promo plays.

A video package opens focusing on the power of being a champion in WWE. We see a focus on Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry, Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena and Triple H’s return to the ring tonight to take on CM Punk.

A graphic opening hits welcoming us to WWE Night of Champions. We go live to the First Niagara Center in Buffalo where a huge display of pyro goes off in the entrance area. Michael Cole is the first to welcome us to the show. He is joined by Jerry “The King” Lawler and Booker T on commentary.

WWE Tag Team Championships
Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne (c’s) vs. The Miz and R-Truth

Miz and Truth did a remix of Truth’s theme song called, “You suck.”

We start with Kofi Kingston and The Miz. Quick tag to Evan Bourne who gets in a few kicks to the leg. Tag back to Kofi who hits a big flying clothesline in the corner. Tag to R-Truth who takes a big hip toss from Kofi. Kofi and Bourne with a double team head scissors takedown on Truth and double dropkick on Miz. Both Kofi and Bourne then take out Truth and Miz off the top rope to the outside. Truth goes after Bourne wrapping him up in the ropes. Miz gets in a cheap shot when Truth distracts the ref. Tag to Miz who kicks Bourne in the face after Truth sets him up with a snapmare takedown. Tag to Truth as Truth and Miz hit a double shoulder block on Bourne. Bourne fights back with a big suplex on Truth. Miz prevents Bourne from tagging in Kofi. Bourne gets the hot tag to Kofi who connects with a springboard clothesline on Miz and follows with a dropkick. Kofi with the Boom Drop over Miz. Kofi with the S.O.S. on Miz and gets a close two count. Truth drops Kofi’s head off the top rope allowing Miz to hit a modified DDT for another close two count. Bourne with a blind tag slapping his hand in the air with the ref distracted. Bourne with a close rollup on Miz. Bourne with a side kick to Miz and knee to the chest of Truth. Bourne is up top, misses his 450, lands on his feet and Miz connects with a DDT. Kofi breaks up the pinfall. Truth argues with the ref about a tag. In the ring, Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz is covering Bourne and has the win secure. The ref was still arguing with Truth and then turns around to make the count, but Bourne kicks out after the one count. Miz gets in the ref’s face and pushes him down yelling at him. The referee calls for the bell.

Winners via DQ and still WWE Tag Team Champions: Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne

After the match, The Miz pushes the ref down again in the corner. R-Truth tries to settle him down. Truth walkes over, apologizes to the ref, picks him up and then slaps him sending him back down to the mat. Miz yells conspiracy and that he is sick of this.

Backstage, Matt Striker catches up with The Miz and R-Truth. They refuse to apologize.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Ted DiBiase

Lock up and both back away right away. DiBiase with a quick takedown and kick to the face of Rhodes. Rhodes backs up to the corner and tells the ref to get DiBiase away. DiBiase works over the left arm of Rhodes. DiBiase with a big dropkick on Rhodes. Rhodes slaps DiBiase and DiBiase responds with a tackle takedown. Rhodes with his springboard kick to the face. Rhodes jumps on the back of DiBiase trying to lock on a modified camel clutch. Rhodes then transitions to DiBiase’s right shoulder and arm working over it. DiBiase flips Rhodes over his head and they both sit up during the pinfall count. DiBiase drops Rhodes off his knee. Rhodes responds with a kick to the head. Rhodes gets the abdominal stretch applied on DiBiase. DiBiase with a flying knee spot off the ropes that takes down Rhodes. DiBiase with a spinebuster into a pinfall for a two count. DiBiase counters Rhodes’ springboard kick to the face with a dropkick. Rhodes headbutts DiBiase up top. DiBiase falls down, but grabs Rhodes and flips him down from the top to the mat. DiBiase tries ripping Rhodes’ mask off and gets it removed. DiBiase tries to hit Rhodes with the mask, but Rhodes ducks and rolls up DiBiase holding the tights for the win.

Winner and still WWE Intercontinental Champion: Cody Rhodes

Christian makes his way out to the arena. Christian grabs a mic and says he talked to both Teddy Long and Triple H tonight. He said both are too self absorbed to do the right thing. Christian says he has been wrestling for over 17 years and he deserves one more match to become the World Heavyweight Champion. He said whoever wins the Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry match that he deserves to face the winner immediately after the match. Christian wants Buffalo to understand. “Buffalo…you’ve never won the Super Bowl. You probably never going to win the Super Bowl. But I have won the Super Bowl – twice,” said Christian. He asks those who agree with him to stand up and support him by saying I deserve: “one more match.” The crowd chants one more match. Sheamus’ music hits and he grabs a mic. He said Christian is right about one thing: this is the night of champions. Sheamus said what it isn’t is the night of crying and whining. Christian said this doesn’t concern him. Sheamus said it does because he is a former world champion and he would give us “Uncle Fargas’ lucky green testicle” to compete tonight for a title shot. Christian said he has the balls to say out loud that he deserves one more match. Sheamus proposes an idea: if he helps Christian get a title shot, he must promise to give him a title shot. Christian agrees. Sheamus leads the crowd in a “one more match” chant. Sheamus then takes out Christian with a Brogue Kick.

WWE United States Championship – Fatal Four Way
Dolph Ziggler (c) w/ Vickie Guerrero vs. John Morrison vs. Alex Riley vs. Jack Swagger

The bell rings. Riley goes after Ziggler. Morrison goes after Swagger. Riley drops Ziggler with a clothesline and sends him to the outside. Swagger dumps Morrison out. Riley with another big clothesline that takes down Swagger. Riley ends up bouncing his face off the steel steps when he jumps over. Morrison is back in and Swagger is hitting big forearms to his back. Morrison dropkicks Ziggler out of the ring and flips back on top of Swagger in one motion. Swagger gives Morrison a hip toss over the top rope. Swagger drops Ziggler with a clothesline when he returns to the ring. Riley with his modified death valley driver on Swagger. Vickie puts Swagger’s foot on the bottom rope during the pinfall. Morrison with a springboard kick to the face on Ziggler who was arguing with Vickie. Ziggler with a fameasser on Morrison. Ziggler is up top. Morrison is trying to give him a superplex. Ziggler gets Morrison down in the tree of woe. Riley jumps up with them standing over Morrison. Morrison lifts himself up giving Riley a german suplex with a release. Swagger jumps up tossing Ziggler off the top turnbuckle. Morrison gets dumped to the outside and favors his knee. Morrison drops Swagger and Riley with a big kicks. Morrison with a spinning DDT on Swagger and flips back up. Morrison with his spinning suplex on Riley that results in a two count. Morrison drags Riley to the corner. Morrison goes for the Starship Pain, but Riley gets his knees up. Ziggler gets the sleeper applied on Morrison. Swagger gets the ankle lock applied on Riley. Morrison falls down and rolls to the outside. Riley with a DDT on Swagger for a close two count. Swagger sends Riley to the corner and then gets the ankle lock applied. Swagger ducks a kick from Morrison and hits his gutwrench powerbomb. Ziggler rolls back in and pushes Swagger off of Morrison. Ziggler hooks the leg of Morrison and gets the win.

Backstage, Josh Mathews is with Mark Henry. Mathews said the rap against Henry is that he can’t win the big one. Henry said he plans to take out 15 years of frustration on Randy Orton tonight and invites Josh to interview him when he becomes the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Backstage, Vickie Guerrero is celebrating Dolph Ziggler’s win. She said everyone on the WWE roster wants to work for her and said if Triple H loses tonight, she could become the new COO.

The Hell in a Cell PPV in two weeks is plugged.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Randy Orton (c) vs. Mark Henry

Tony Chimmel handled the ring introductions for the challenger Mark Henry and champion Randy Orton.

The bell rings and Mark Henry throws Randy Orton with force into the corner right away. Orton with some right hands backing up Henry. Orton with kicks to the body and then a kick to the head to take Henry down. Orton starts stomping over Henry’s body and then drops a knee to the head. Henry gets up and he is angry. Orton tosses Henry out of the ring. Henry dodges an early RKO and then catches Orton with a boot to the face. Orton counters a World’s Strongest Slam attempt and jumps on Henry’s back applying a sleeper hold. Henry drops Orton into the corner to break it up. Orton with forearms to the chest of Henry from the corner. Henry with a huge right hand that drops Orton off the top turnbuckle to the outside with a loud thud. Henry with a headbutt to Orton back in the ring. Henry then stands on the back of Orton against the ropes. Henry with a body splash over Orton. Henry with the cover and Orton kicks out. Henry drops an elbow over the chest of Orton. Henry with a kick to the chest of Orton and follows with a big clothesline. Orton avoids a second body splash from Henry. Orton with a series of right hands in the corner. Orton attempts clotheslines on Henry and Henry stays on his feet. Orton connects with a dropkick that takes Henry off of his feet. Henry rolls out to the ring apron. Henry headbutts Orton and clotheslines him. Henry picks up Orton and connects with the World’s Strongest Slam. Henry hooks the leg and Orton kicks out. Henry can’t believe it. Orton is fighting back going after Henry’s knee to take him down. Henry rolls to the ring apron. Orton grabs Henry by the head, lifts him up and hits his DDT through the ropes. Henry grabs the bottom rope during the pinfall. Henry plays defense kicking Orton away when Orton comes forward. Henry kicks away at Orton’s knee when he gets up. Orton attempts an RKO and Henry pushes him away with ease. Henry then grabs Orton and hits the World’s Strongest Slam. Henry hooks the leg and gets the win.

Winner and NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Mark Henry

After the match, they show some great crowd shots of shocked and disappointed WWE fans. Josh Mathews walks out and interviews the new champion. Henry pulls the mic away and tells the fans to stop cheering since they were all haters. He said this is his moment and he refuses to share it with anyone. Henry says he will be the most dominant champion of all time and he won’t run from anyone. “I will never…ever…lose this title,” yelled Henry as he threw the mic down.

Backstage, WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio is with Ricardo Rodriguez and John Laurinaitis. Del Rio complains about being booked in a tag match with Ricardo last week and demands more respect after tonight. Del Rio and Ricardo walk off as John wishes him luck. John looks over and wishes luck to CM Punk who is stand nearby. Punk said that is funny coming from him. Laurinaitis reminds him who he is. Punk wonders if his “good luck” means “good luck with all of your future endeavours.”

WWE Divas Championship
Kelly Kelly (c) w/ Eve Torres vs. Beth Phoenix w/ Natalya

Beth Phoenix got a big reaction for being the hometown girl. Lock up and then Kelly goes for a headlock. Beth with a quick takedown. Kelly responds landing on her feet when Beth attempts a hip toss. A loud “KELLY SUCKS” chant starts up. Kelly with a close rollup. Kelly with a leg lock and choking Beth against the ropes. Kelly goes up top, but Beth catches her. Beth drops Kelly over her knee and starts spanking her. Beth kicks Kelly in the stomach and then applies pressure on her head with her boot. Beth catapults Kelly into the bottom rope. Kelly with a counter and bulldog on Beth. Natalya pulls Beth out of the ring. Eve runs up and clotheslines Natalya. Beth pulls Eve off of Natalya and gets back in the ring. Kelly with a small package for a two count. Beth drops Kelly with a big clothesline. Beth puts Kelly up on the top turnbuckle and throws a few elbows. Beth with a huge superplex on Kelly from the top. Beth covers Kelly and Kelly kicks out after two. Kelly counters the Glam Slam and gets a rollup for the three count.

After the match, Beth Phoenix sits up and is shocked. Michael Cole says Beth choked in her hometown.

A video package runs hyping Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena.

WWE Championship
Alberto Del Rio (c) w/ Ricardo Rodriguez vs. John Cena

Before the match, Alberto Del Rio stomped out to the ring and yelled at Ricardo Rodriguez asking where his car keys was. Moments later, John Cena’s music hits and drives out inside the arena with Del Rio’s car. Del Rio took the mic away from Justin Roberts saying he didn’t want Justin to announce his beautiful name in a bad English accent. He called Ricardo in to do a proper introduction. Cena then took mic and did his own ring introduction. He tossed it to Justin Roberts to say his name to close it out.

We get some loud “CENA SUCKS” chants at the beginning. Cena with a shoulder block and Del Rio rolls to the ring apron. Another lock up and Cena hits a second shoulder block. We now have dueling “LET’S GO CENA – CENA SUCKS” chants. Cena with a bulldog on Del Rio. Ricardo trips up Cena when he hits the ropes. The referee then sends Ricardo to the back. Del Rio with a kick to the back of Cena and then follows it with a second. Del Rio comes off the top rope dropping Cena. Del Rio locks on a side camel clutch. Cena fires back with a quick suplex. Cena with a quick belly-to-belly suplex on Del Rio. Both men are down and the referee starts the count. Both men are up at 8 and hit a double clothesline. We are back to both down. Del Rio with a quick clothesline when Cena tried to build some offense. Del Rio misses a splash on Cena sliding through the ropes to the outside. Cena gives Del Rio a suplex back in the ring. Cena with a series of flying shoulder blocks and his twisting powerbomb. Cena calls for Five Knuckle Shuffle time. Cena connects on Del Rio. Del Rio counters an AA attempt with a back cracker. Del Rio hooks the leg and gets a close two count. A frustrated Del Rio kicks Cena over the back. Cena with a corner clothesline and dropkick combo on Del Rio. Del Rio with a close pinfall when Cena goes up top and Del Rio catches him with a quick kick to the head. Del Rio with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for another two count. Del Rio has Cena up in the tree of woe. Del Rio charges and Cena lifts himself up to avoid it. Del Rio hits the corner with a loud thud. Cena with a flying leg drop off the top. Del Rio responds with a german sulpex into a bridge for a two count. Del Rio comes off the top and body splashes Cena with force. Del Rio with the armbar. Cena turns over to get Del Rio’s shoulders down for the pin. Cena lifts up Del Rio in a powerbomb Rampage Jackson style and slams him back down on the mat! Cena gets Del Rio up and connects with the AA. Ricardo runs down and Cena throws him into the corner. Cena jumps on Del Rio and gets the STF applied. Del Rio tries to hold on. Cena pulls back with force. Del Rio taps.

Winner and NEW WWE Champion: John Cena

After the match, Michael Cole yells over commentary that Cena is now a 10-time WWE Champion. Cena jumps up on the turnbuckle and raises the WWE Championship high in the air.

No Disqualification Match
If Triple H loses, he must step down as COO of WWE
Triple H vs. CM Punk

Punk was wearing a new CM Punk WWE ice cream bar t-shirt. Punk wastes no time and attacks Triple H during his water spitting entrance on the ring apron. Punk knocks Triple H into the timekeepers area. Punk starts clearing off the spanish announce table when Triple H grabs him launching him over the steel steps. Triple H then sends Punk into the barricade. Triple H then launches Punk across the announce table. Triple H puts Punk up on the table, attempts a Pedigree, but Punk counters and bails back inside the ring. Triple H gets in the ring and they exchange right hands. Punk kicks Triple H to the corner. Triple H is throwing big right hands. Punk misses a splash in the corner and goes flying to the outside. Triple H tosses Punk to the ring apron and throws Punk’s knee right into the steel ring post. Punk fights back sending Triple H into the ring barricade and then connects with a big knee to the chin. Triple H then tosses Punk into the crowd going over the ring barricade. Triple H takes it to Punk in the crowd as they brawl within the crowd. Punk fights back with a few right hands and sends Triple H into part of the Night of Champions set. Triple H then catapults Punk into part of the set as well. Triple H attempts a Pedigree, but Punk tosses Triple H over an HD screen to the floor. Punk with a sledgehammer to Triple H behind the HD screen. Punk grabs bags and throw them at Triple H. Punk continues to toss Triple H into part of the set. Both get near the ring with Triple H rolling in first. Punk grabs a steel chair and tosses it in. Punk with a chair shot to the back. Punk sets the chair up in the corner. Triple H fires back with a quick spinebuster. Triple H then tosses Punk into the chair in the corner. Triple H with a chop block to Punk’s leg on the outside. Triple H tosses Punk in the ring near the steel ring post and goes back to work on Punk’s knee/leg. Triple H grabs a chair and cracks it over Punk’s knee. Punk then kicks Triple H into the steel ring steps. Triple H is grabbing a TV monitor from the spanish announce table, but Punk catches him with a big kick to the head. Triple H falls over the table. Back in the ring, Punk goes up to the top rope, jumps and connects with a flying elbow over Triple H crashing through the table. The Miz and R-Truth then hit the ring. Truth attacks Punk, while Miz attacks Triple H. Miz with a Skull Crushing Finale on Triple H. Truth drops Punk with his facebuster. Miz and Truth drag Punk over Triple H. The referee is forced to count…1…2…Triple H gets a shoulder up. Miz and Truth can’t believe it. Miz gets in the ref’s face. Miz goes for a punch, the ref blocks it and punches Miz. Truth then attacks the ref. Miz joins in. They push the ref out of the ring. John Laurinaitis walks out calling for another ref. Punk and Triple H are back up. Punk tosses Truth out. Triple H takes care of Miz. Triple H then hits the Pedigree on Punk and hooks the leg. A second ref is running down. Laurinaitis blocks him and tells him to check on the first ref. Punk hits the GTS on Triple H. Punk hooks the leg. Laurinaitis sends a ref in. 1…2…Truth pulls Punk out of the ring. Punk then gives Truth a GTS on the outside. Punk attempts his springboard clothesline, but Triple H catches him with a kick to the gut and a Pedigree. Triple H hooks the leg…1…2…Punk kicks out! Laurinaitis turns around and grabs his cell phone. Kevin Nash is walking through the crowd and back at ringside. Nash gets in the ring and elbows Punk. Nash with a big elbow on Triple H as well. Nash starts attacking Triple H in the corner. Nash attempts a powerbomb when Punk breaks it up. Nash fights back and hits the Jacknife Powerbomb on Punk. Nash starts to clear off the announce table on the outside when Triple H knocks out Nash cold with a sledgehammer shot. Triple H slides back in, kicks Punk in the gut and hits the Pedigree. Triple H with the cover and gets the pinfall.

Winner: Triple H

After the match, Triple H celebrates his win and crotch chops over Punk as the PPV goes off the air.
