Commentators: Michael Cole and Jim Ross
Report by: Josh Boutwell of Wrestleview.com

This is Josh Boutwell, yes the “TNA guy,” Dave Stephens is celebrating his birthday (Happy Birthday and ROLL TIDE Dave!) tonight and I’m handling the RAW Recap tonight. Don’t worry, everyone’s favorite recapper will be back at it next week.

WWE Tag Titles #1 Contenders Match
Rey Mysterio Jr. & Sin Cara vs. Rhodes Scholars (Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow)

This was scheduled for last week but due to Rey’s Flu the match was pushed back a week. The winning team faces Team Hell No at the PPV Sunday night. Rey & Mistico aren’t wearing the combo masks this week. Jim Ross expertly goes over the numerous tag partners Rey has had in the past and also points out that Sin Cara is a former 4-time CMLL Tag Team Champion in Mexico as well (Nicely done Jim). He won tag titles with Negro Casas & Hector Garza. Sin Cara uses his speed in the early going to catch Rhodes with a Spinning Headscissors and then he tags Rey in and they connect with a Double Wheel Barrow Slam! Rey walks into an uppercut from Rhodes and he tags in Sandow as the heels start to take control. Sandow goes for a Back Suplex but Rey blocks it and connects with a series of back elbows. Rey hits a gorgeous Spinning Headscissors and sets up for the 619 but Cody Rhodes pulls Sandow out! Sin Cara then hits a Tope Suicida through the ropes onto Rhodes and Rey dives off the apron with a Senton onto Sandow! Back in the ring Rey hangs Sandow up in the ropes and tags Sin Cara in. Sin Cara hits a Double Spring Asai Moonsault onto the hanging Sandow as Rey held him! Cara springs to the top and dives off with a Cross Body but Sandow sidesteps him and gets a nearfall. Rhodes tags back in and hits a Delayed Vertical Suplex on Cara for a nearfall. Rhodes and Sandow use their size to isolate Sin Cara in the heel corner and begin to take him apart. They beat on Sin Cara using quick tags to take turns pounding on the much smaller luchador. Sandow hits a Vertical Suplex and then a Knee Drop before a Hunter Hearst Helmsley-esque bow. Sin Cara is able to get some separation from the heels by surprising Rhodes with an Enziguri before we go to a break.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Back from the break Rhodes Scholars have regained the control on Sin Cara and continue to beat him down. Sandow hits a Russian Leg Sweep on Cara and then drops an elbow with the Elbow of Disdain for a nearfall before Rey breaks it up. Rhodes tags back in and puts Cara on the top rope. Rhodes attempts a Superplex but Cara shoves him off and dives off with a Tornado DDT! Rey gets the fans behind Cara and he makes the hot tag! Rey dives off the top with a Seated Senton on Rhodes and then knocks Sandow off the apron. Rey hits another Spinning Headscissors on Cody and then hits a Split Legged Moonsault off the top! 1…2…NO Rhodes kicks out! Rey dropkicks Cody into the ropes and then Sandow! Double 619! Rey climbs up top and dives off with Dropping The Dime! 1…2…NO Sandow slides in between the referee and the 3 count! Sin Cara nails Sandow with a Leaping Enziguri and then Rey dropkicks him off the apron! Sin Cara dives onto the floor to go after Sandow, but Rhodes catches Rey with the Cross Rhodes from behind! 1…2…3! Great opener.

Winners & NEW #1 Contenders: Rhodes Scholars via pinfall (Cross Rhodes)

After the match Team Hell No appear on the Titantron and congratulate the new #1 Contenders. Kane says the question now is will they win the Tag Titles and the champs say “HELL NO!” Kane says he wants to perform a little magic in honor of their win. Kane says “now you see him” and then palms Daniel’s head and pushes him to the side and does his pyro.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

The Miz is on commentary for the next match. A replay of the VICIOUS kick Kofi nailed Miz with last Monday is shown and then clips from Kofi’s win on Main Event to earn the IC Title.

Non-Title Match
Kofi Kingston vs. “Baby Perfect” Michael McGillicutty

By the way that nickname isn’t McGillicutty’s real nickname, my attempt at bad humor. Michael attacks Kofi at the bell with a dropkick and then a Back Suplex for a nearfall. McGillicutty is all over Kofi in the early going with knees and punches before laying into Kofi with a Backbreaker for a nearfall. Kofi uses his speed to avoid a charging McGillicutty in the corner and then destroys him with the Trouble In Paradise out of nowhere! 1…2…3!

Winner: Kofi via pinfall (Trouble In Paradise)

The Miz stares Kofi down after the match and tells Kofi to keep the belt warm for him.

Highlights from the decision last week of who Punk’s opponent would be are shown. John Cena will speak next.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Members of the New York Giants are sitting ringside. They’re holding a custom Giants WWE Title belt.

John Cena’s music hits and the guy that still does a salute, despite The Marine coming out 6 years ago, makes his way down to the ring. Cena points out the Giants in attendance and then turns his attention to Hell In A Cell on Sunday night. Cena says this Sunday the WWE Universe will finally find out that CM Punk (chorus of boos aimed at the name of Punk) is a man that tells the truth. He says that Punk has been champion for 337 days but the most truthful thing he ever said is that right before he won the belt his vision for WWE was “change.” Cena says at Hell In A Cell we will see change after 337 days and that change is 6’3”, 290 lbs. and when that “change” stands in the ring all he will hear is “Feed me more!” Cena starts a “feed me more” chant and says that Ryback isn’t someone who comes out and complains about political conspiracy theories or promise a revolution. He says Ryback stands for one thing, destruction. This Sunday Cena says the face of the WWE will change. Punk’s music interrupts the Ryback love fest.

Punk and Paul E. Dangerously…eh I mean Paul Heyman walk onto the stage and Punk starts off by saying he isn’t surprised Cena would come out and suck up to the Giants. He says that’s typical of Cena and Punk says the truth is that the Giants suck, but he really is a Giants fan…the San Francisco Giants. Punk laughs at the thought of Cena wanting change and again mentions how long he’s held the belt. Punk says the fact that he’s had the belt for 337 days means Cena hasn’t had the belt for that long and THAT is change. Punk says that he has delivered on all his promises and then some, he’s the best in the world not Cena, not the Giants, nor Ryback. He says Cena can come out and speak for Ryback all he wants and promise destruction and change, but everyone knows that when Punk makes a promise he means it. Punk promises to walk out of HIAC still the WWE Champion. Punk says he does like Cena’s new role of being Ryback’s cheerleader because it fits Cena so well. He says that Cena has finally realized that he can’t beat Punk so he’s cheering on someone else.

Cena says he wanted to let the WWE fans know how excited he was for Sunday but it isn’t that he doesn’t think he can beat Punk. He says he wasn’t allowed to but now he’s healthy. Cena says he isn’t going to try and mess up the PPV but he wants to mess up Punk’s face right now. Cena says if Punk comes down to the ring right now he’ll give him a “pre ass whooping” to the real one he’ll get Sunday. Heyman begs Punk not to do it but Punk begins walking down to the ring but stops before getting in the ring. The fans reign down boos on Punk as he backs up the ramp leaving Cena alone in the ring.

The tweet from AJ is again shown and Cole says she’s scheduled to be here within the hour.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Non-Title Match
Antonio Cesaro vs. Justin Gabriel

The battle of the nations here, Switzerland (Cesaro) vs. South Africa (Gabriel). Gabriel lost to Cesaro last week. Before the match Cesaro grabs a microphone and says something in a language my Alabama brain can’t understand. Gabriel dives over the top with a Plancha onto Cesaro! In the ring Gabriel tries to whip Cesaro into the ropes but Cesaro counters it into a Hot Shot onto the top rope. Cesaro has his wrist taped heavily and Cole says he has torn tendons in that hand. Cesaro hits a series of European Uppercuts and then a Gutwrench Suplex. Cesaro hits a Double Foot Stomp and locks in a Cravate. Cesaro drops Gabriel down onto the top turn buckle and then punt kicks him in the guts before dropping him to the mat for a nearfall while some idiots in the crowd chant “boring.” Cesaro goes back to the Cravate but Gabriel fights back to his feet only to get tossed into the corner. Cesaro charges but Gabriel gets his feet up! Gabriel charges at Cesaro but he again tosses Gabriel into the corner hard. Cesaro grabs Gabriel’s feet and flips him up to his feet, but Gabriel catches Cesaro with a Back Kick out of nowhere and then a series of Forearms. Gabriel hits a Tilt-A-Whirl Reverse DDT! Gabriel climbs up top for the 450 but Cesaro crotches him on the top rope. Cesaro climbs up with Gabriel and attempts a Superplex but Gabriel blocks it and knocks Cesaro back down to the mat! Cesaro gets back to his feet and hits a Leaping Forearm and then knocks Gabriel off the top to the apron. Gabriel hits a Leaping Enziguri that knocks Cesaro off the top again and then he climbs up and hits the 450 Splash! 1…2…3!

Winner: Gabriel via pinfall (450 Splash)

Cesaro sells the upset and then we cut to the back where Vince McMahon is shown arriving with AJ Lee in a limo.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Back from the break Vince McMahon & AJ Lee are already in the ring. Vince says that earlier today AJ met with the Board of Directors for several hours and the subject to that meeting was AJ’s tenure as GM. He hands the microphone to AJ who says that because of allegations of her “fraternizing” with a WWE superstar on the roster she is now resigning as GM of RAW. I think they were chanting “slut” at her. She says these allegations are completely false but she understands that she could have fired when she attacked Paul Heyman or Vickie or for some of the decisions she’s made that have been deemed unfair, and that’s why she agreed to resign. She says that she knows some of her decisions may have been unauthorized and some may think she’s mentally unstable, but she says some people like crazy chicks. She says this is coming to an end sooner than she wanted but she’s come so far from where she started. She mentions that she grew up 15 minutes from here and she grew up with nothing and she’s lived in cars and motels. AJ says she’s gone from being homeless to being the boss of RAW. AJ says she thought she would always be a little poor girl but the WWE fans accepted her so she thanks the fans for every second because she loved every second. She then thanks Vince for giving her the opportunity that no one else would have given her. AJ says thanks again and then tells Vince that she’s sorry. Vince hugs her but Paul Heyman then appears on the ramp.

Heyman says he was unaware of AJ’s touching life story and talks about the possibilities of a homeless girl rising to become the GM of RAW. He says that she rose above her lack of education, intelligence, class, and the fact that she was born and bred in Jersey to become RAW GM. Heyman says business is business and in the name of business there needs to be a new GM. Paul says since the board has to name someone immediately he needs someone with class, education, dignity, and someone that will demonstrate “ruthless aggression” when the time is right. Heyman says that he and Vince have butted heads but he suggests that the next GM of RAW should be Paul Heyman. Vince looks at Heyman and simply says “no.” Vince introduces the new “Managing Supervisor” (making sure not to call him them the GM) of RAW…Vickie Guerrero!

The Cougar herself makes her way down to the ring and thanks the WWE Board of Directors for giving her this opportunity. He can barely hear her over the boos from the crowd. Vickie says she is touched that the board values her expertise but then Heyman cuts her off. Paul says that now she is in a position of power she needs to make her first decision and it needs to be momentous. He claims that he would have never suggested himself if he knew Vickie was in the running. Paul suggests that Vickie reverse Vince’s decision to force Punk to face Ryback. Vickie says that Paul’s client WILL face Ryback at HIAC and tonight’s Main Event will be Champ vs. Champ as CM Punk battles Sheamus! Paul says she can’t do that but she tells Heyman to watch her. Vickie says tonight’s Main Event will also be the biggest Lumberjack Match in the history of Raw. Heyman flips out at that announcement and leaves.

Vickie looks over at AJ and says that she knew all along AJ wasn’t right for the job because of her immaturity and “little girl dress clothes” isn’t for this job. Vickie says she has the experience to do the job and that’s why she’s the “Managing Supervisor” and soon to be GM of RAW. Vickie says that AJ had an affair with a WWE superstar and she disgusts AJ. Vickie tells AJ to go backstage and pack up all her stuff and get out. AJ starts to leave but then stops and attacks Vickie! Cat fight! AJ tries to rip Vickie’s shirt off in the brawl but eventually Vickie is able to get away from the crazy chick.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

OH MY GOD! IT’S BILL GOLBDER….oh wait never mind it’s just Ryback.

Ryback vs. The Miz

Miz argues about something before the match but Ryback is having none of it and tosses Miz into the ring. Immediately a “Goldberg” chant starts and then Ryback tosses Miz through the ropes and to the floor. Ryback stalks Miz on the floor and starts his weird heavy breathing. Back in the ring Ryback blocks a kick and tosses Miz to the side again. Ryback then goes for a Powerslam but Miz blocks it and bounces off the ropes only to eat a Big Boot. Ryback slams Miz into the mat repeatedly and then charges at Miz but he moves out of the way. Ryback then lays Miz out with a Shoulderblock. Miz retreats to the apron and stuns Ryback with a Jawbreaker onto the top rope. Miz climbs up top and dives off but Ryback catches him in midair and slams him to the mat followed by the Meathook Clothesline. Ryback then does his Ultimate Warrior rope shake before hitting Shell Shocked on Miz for the dominant win. Boy, Miz really looked strong heading into the PPV there. Ryback did at least.

Winner: Ryback via pinfall (Shell Shocked)

Another bullying campaign video airs that we see over and over every week.

—-COMMERICAL BREAK—-

In the back Eve is on the phone with someone talking about AJ Lee when Kaitlyn walks up behind her. Kaitlyn says at least AJ never hired someone to attack someone from behind. Kaitlyn shows a picture of something that was on Eve’s Ipad. Kaitlyn says that Eve is still the same conniving witch she’s always been and Eve b*tch slaps her! The two girls start brawling and Layla pulls Kaitlyn away. Eve hits Layla and all 3 start fighting! Referee’s run up and separate the three.

Josh Matthews interviews Sheamus with one of the WWE’s new toys. Sheamus cracks a bad joke about his complexion and then says the only thing he likes better than a champion vs. champion match is one that has the added unpredictability of a Lumberjack Match. Josh asks if this match tonight could hurt him for his match at HIAC, but before he can answer Big Show walks up and punches the toy Sheamus was holding out of his hand. Show tells Sheamus that he better get serious real quick and the same thing that he just did to that doll will happen to Sheamus at the PPV.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Dolph whips Daniel into the corner and charges but Daniel gets a boot up only to walk into a dropkick seconds later. Dolph hits a Hangman’s Neckbreaker and then goes for a Vertical Suplex. Bryan blocks it and goes for a submission but Dolph blocks it. Daniel hits the ropes and Dolph goes for a leapfrog but Daniel catches his leg and takes him down and locks in a Surfboard. As Daniel has him in a Surfboard he slams Dolph’s knees down on the mat. Daniel goes for a Figure Four but Dolph kicks him into the turnbuckles. Daniel answers with a rollup transitioned into a Figure Four out of nowhere! Dolph fights it but eventually gets to the ropes to break the hold. Daniel kicks Dolph repeteadly as Dolph escapes to the apron. Bryan goes for a shoulder block through the ropes but eats a knee! Dolph Suplexes Bryan over the top to the floor! Daniel sells the knee as he hits the floor and Kane’s music hits and he walks down to ringside as Dolph looks on!

Daniel climbs up top and Dolph catches him with a Super Zig Zag out of nowhere as Bryan was distracted! 1…2…3! What a great match!

Winner: Ziggler via pinfall (Zig Zag)

After the match Kane & Bryan argue and Bryan shoves Kane. Matt Striker walks onto the stage and screams at them to shutup and then he says that Vickie told him to come out because she has a surprise for them. Striker says that tonight Kane & Bryan will compete in what Vickie calls a “therapeutic gameshow” called “The Newly Tag Game.” Striker says that Vickie told him he has to be the host. Striker tells them that their opponents for the contest tonight are their opponents for Sunday, Rhodes Scholars.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

A replay of what went down with AJ is shown.

Newly Tagged Game w/Team Hell No & Rhodes Scholars
Striker says this game is designed to let the teams get to know each other better. Yeah, who needs good wrestling matches or anything on a wrestling show when you can have cheesy gameshows?! Daniel introduces himself to the crowd and says he does NOT have a goatface and says HE’S the tag team champions. Kane introduces himself and says that he’s a Scorpio and he enjoys long walks on the beach, rainbows, and puppies and when Striker says “seriously” Kane answers with “HELL NO!” Bryan says Kane really does love rainbows which pisses Kane off. They start arguing and then Rhodes Scholars’ music interrupts them and they make their way out.

Sandow doesn’t like having to be a part of such “tomfoolery” and says what is happening in the ring is the very “putrification” of society. Is that a real word? Sandow says they will NOT be participating and Rhodes responds with “what he said.” Cody says Team Hell No will get to know them when they beat Team Hell No for the titles at the PPV. Kane says it looks like Striker’s little gameshow is a total bust. Striker names Team Hell No the winners via forfeit and Bryan goes nuts in celebration like he just won the Super Bowl. Kane looks at Striker and it looks like he wants to celebrate in the only way a monster knows how so Striker bails.

Striker stops at the top of the ramp and says that he really wishes that he could wish them luck this Sunday but honestly he doesn’t. Striker backs up and backs right into Big Show! Show tosses him across the stage and it looks Show’s match with Kane is up next.

AJ says that she knows there a lot of things she could have been fired for but not this. Cena rambles but AJ cuts him off and says that the person they claim she was sleeping with was Cena. He acts surprised and she says that’s why she didn’t oppose the Board because she didn’t want to drag his name through the mud. Cena says something about a business dinner and AJ says that she thinks it was Vickie Guerrero that snitched. AJ fake cries and Cena hugs her and tells her not to worry because he’ll take care of it. Boy, was that lame.

Clips of WWE in Egypt are shown.

Cena approaches Vince McMahon in the parking lot and questions Vince believing Vickie and Cena tells him “enough with the BS.” Vince says there was incriminating evidence and says that it was just a matter time with AJ. Vince says he doesn’t even know what “Managing Supervisor” means himself but it is what it is and leaves.

After the match ADR says he is going to cut RKO’s head off at HIAC and then locks Ryder in the Cross Armbreaker again! He says that there is a new “Apex Predator” in the WWE. The crowd could not have been more dead for that entire match and sequence.

Cena approaches Vickie in the back and says Vickie is a backstabbing liar, but she tells Cena not to give her attitude. Cena says it was just a business dinner but Vickie says perception is reality, and the reality is that Cena asked AJ out on RAW and had dinner with. She says the reality is that Cena cost AJ her job.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

In the back Josh Matthews is with Ziggles. He says he always thought AJ was a good GM but you can’t put your hands on Vickie, and you can’t have actions without consequences. Dolph says the one person that’s to blame for all this is John Cena and he hopes that Cena is happy about himself. Dolph says that you would think AJ would have better taste.

Cole & Ross run down the card for Hell In A Cell headlined by Ryback vs. Punk. A video package hypes up the match. In the back Heyman and Punk talk about the match with Ryback and Punk says the match tonight is the type of disrespect he’s talking about forcing him to have a big Lumberjack Match 6 days away from his HIAC Match.
