AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT Ratings: AEW beats NXT in first head-to-head in a month

AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT ratings for September 16, 2020 are now in. This is the first time the two shows have run head-to-head since August 12.

AEW Dynamite, going head-to-head against WWE NXT, drew an average of 886,000 viewers on Wednesday night according to a report by Showbuzzdaily.com.

This is down from last week’s show that drew an average of 1.016 million viewers on TNT. Dynamite came in at No. 3 for the night on cable in the 18-49 demographics,up from No. 7 where they placed last week.

This week’s episode of NXT drew an average of 689,000 viewers on Wednesday night.

This is down from last week’s show that averaged 838,000 viewers. It should be noted last week’s show aired on Tuesday. NXT came in at No. 31 for the night on cable in the 18-49 demographics, down from No. 15 where they placed last week.

In overall viewership, AEW Dynamite defeated WWE NXT in the “Wednesday Night War” by 197,000 viewers.

Overall viewers for both shows was at 1.575 million average viewers, up from 1.411 million on August 12 for the last head-to-head match.

Demographic Ratings for AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT

WWE NXT, headlined by an NXT North American Title match, averaged a 0.18 rating among adults 18-49. This is down from the 0.22 rating they had last week.

AEW Dynamite, headlined by a Parking Lot Fight, averaged a 0.34 rating among adults 18-49. This is down from the 0.37 rating they had last week.
