Sammy Guevara pulled from IMPACT TV tapings due to creative differences

SlamWrestling recently reported that AEW star Sammy Guevara was scheduled to work this past week’s IMPACT Wrestling TV tapings, but was pulled from the tapings in what appears to be creative differences between Guevara and IMPACT Management.

PWInsider had indicated they have confirmed with IMPACT sources that the SlamWrestling story is indeed accurate. This has also been confirmed by F4WOnline.

The original story is that Guevara was going to work a short storyline at the tapings that began this past Tuesday through Thursday playing off Guevara quitting the Inner Circle.

Multiple sources indicated that AEW and IMPACT had worked out the storyline plans but that Guevara did not fly to Nashville the day before the scheduled tapings, but instead re-scheduled himself to arrive in Nashville just a few hours before the TV tapings would begin.

It is also being said that IMPACT sources indicated that although everyone had agreed to the planned ideas, Guevara sent texts to IMPACT officials about alternative ideas and “not wanting to do what was agreed to.”  It was then at that point, IMPACT Management had canceled Guevara from appearing on the tapings.

The report from SlamWrestling indicates that Guevara has heat with AEW, especially Tony Khan, and that Chris Jericho told Guevara to fly back home after he landed in Nashville on Tuesday afternoon.

The report from PWInsider states that the majority of what had been planned for Guevara was replaced with Black Taurus and Decay instead.

IT should also be noted that IMPACT sources reiterated there was no issue with AEW and that the relationship between the two sides are “golden.”
